Sometimes I wish we lived on a planet where we all just wore zip up jumpsuits in different colours like in sci-fi movies so clothing isn't such a headache issue 😄😁
I never liked the bathroom issue of a onesie, but you can do this! I used to fantasize a closet of white linen dresses, kinda like Olive Oil's from Popeye.
So so happy for you that you found some jeans. I've been watching for years and have seen your health journey as you have shared it. Thank you for sharing. ❤
When Weston threw that black shirt to the corner and you caught it to fold it and put it somewhere … I cracked up laughing. Could’ve been a scene from my husband and I decluttering clothes 😂 ❤
You’ve inspired me to refresh my small closet. I set aside off season clothing (mostly bulky coats during the summer) in two thin storage bags at the top of our reach-in closet. My husband and I each have about 4’ of width to store ALL our clothes and coats and shoes, no dressers/underbed bins/storage closets for more. We have 4 seasons and wide temperature swings are not uncommon (up to 80° last week and down to 15° this week) so keeping things minimal and at the ready works best for us. Part of my intentional living journey has led me to looking into what companies we support in a world that seems increasingly in opposition to our faith.
Love that you were decluttering as a team and that you both recognise old favourites that are no longer needed in your clothing inventory. Side note Blundstone boots (or Blun-ies as we call them in Australia) will only get more comfortable the more you wear them. They mold to your unique foot shape and are so durable and easy to slip on. Great boots.
I haven’t done a seasonal bin before. I will usually just put my in season clothes to the part of the closet or drawer that’s easiest to reach. It’s always worked really well for me! Love these videos and all the gentle motivation!🍁🧡
My solution to the seasonal bin, always keep out just two items (example - two short sleeve shirts for myself and each of my kids) from the last season. Then, whenever I need them in that transitional period - I have them handy. They just hang out at the back of the closet or bottom of the drawer but it work for us!
Natalie, I love how intentional you are with your videos…including the background music. I found myself in tears while I was decluttering my closet because I’m having a difficult time knowing that my oldest child will be graduating from high school this year. I’m putting away clothes that he has outgrown (size men’s Medium) to save for my younger son. It’s just surreal. I know I have much more to declutter, so I’m grateful for your videos to guide and encourage me. Thank you, Natalie!!❤️
Natalie, when you switched from the bin to the drawers I, literally, cheered! 😂🎉 A couple of years ago, the LORD led me to do the same thing (the Holy Spirit is the most BRILLIANT decluttering Coach!! 🙌🙌), and it has been an absolute DREAM! For me, it is the perfect combination of having the unseasonal pieces not cluttering the visual of my closet whole still keeping them accessible...which is important, because I live in Kentucky where we can often go through all 4 seasons in one day. 😂 It's also great because I don't have to deal without the the physical hassle of a giant tub (SO much easier and enjoyable to just transfer from hangar to drawer) and also because the drawer becomes my container so that if it starts to feel crammed I know it's time to declutter. And, for all that, it still is this fun discovery every time I pull out the new season that feels like I'm "shopping my closet". So WIN, WIN, WIN!!! So excited for you to try it out, too! 😃🙌🙌🙌🙌💖
I also live in a climate with distinct seasons and have been keeping my out of season (and maternity) clothes in my bottom drawer for a couple years now. It is a GAME CHANGER!
Once I started downsizing the amount of clothes in my wardrobe I am able to keep almost everything I have in my closet and I love it! The only thing I still rotate out is winter coats and shorts/short summery dresses.
Okay, never commented before but I wanted to share that my daughter (who’s 3) and I watched a couple of your recent vlogs this weekend and we LOVED it! I really enjoyed being able to share videos that I enjoy so much and feeling assured that she’d be seeing a family that demonstrates values similar to ours. So calming and wholesome! Thanks for all you do. I know these videos take a lot of work ❤
I completely agree with getting rid of seasonal storage. Not only is it a major painful project every few months, but I found that my clothes were damaged in those vacuum bags. I've been trying to figure out the solution as I have tiny old home closets. I love the idea of using dresser drawers. Thank you!
I live in the north so it gets real cold and I keep all seasons in my closet year around. I’ve found when I did use a season bin I forgot what I had and ended up spending money on doubles. I still do a capsule wardrobe and just put the “off season” things to one side of the closet. But whatever works for your brain is really what’s best. Some times you just have to adjust a bit.
I am the same way! I have to keep all seasons where I can see them because of weather extremes and I am lucky to have space in my closet to push my off-season clothing there but still have access to it. Otherwise I forget what I have and spend unnecessary money buying the same things!
Yesssss! I've done this too. "Out of sight out of mind" has its merits, sometimes, but I've definitely doubled on things that were TOO "out of mind" up there in the bin!
I used to have a seasonal stash apart from my other clothes, but I would forget what was there and miss opportunities to wear things slightly off-season. Now I like to have it all together. Especially summer stuff, I like to layer even when it's colder.
You won't believe it! I'm 41 years old and for 38 years I haven't felt cold! Only if it was a trip to some cold land. So during these 38 years I wore my summer clothes during autumn and winter, with the exception of some t-shirts, dresses... I always had 1, at most, 2 coats and nothing else. Go, I had a lot of scarves and hats just because I've always been a fan. Well... since I was 38 until now I've been cold... if you know the changes my body has had, I found myself needing more warm clothes. and I realized that of the 3 wardrobes we have, I only use one!! I've always only used one and now I need more space. So yes, I started packing out of season clothes, but everything still fits in one drawer.
When we moved last year our closet size was cut in half. The best thing we did was to invest in a closet system that we installed ourselves which made it very affordable. Two rows of hanging each (3 1/2 feet long) plus we each have 4-5 drawers with shelves above for sweaters (2 feet wide) and 2 one foot wide sections for long hanging, double hanging or shelves for shoes. Top shelves are luggage and extra blankets. We fit so much into our closet and a few extra things that are not used often go in the long dresser that is in the bedroom. Of course the best thing we have done over the years is to go down to a minimal wardrobe. We wash a load on Monday and a load on Friday (no sorting and we could go longer if needed).
I keep everything in my closet and just rotate clothes in my drawers. I like to put out of season stuff in the bottom drawer or on a high shelf. I use bins for my kids though because they will wear sweatpants in 100 degrees or shorts in 30 degrees if I don't stash them away.
You are so blessed to live where there are seasons! I live in Florida and so it’s basically different variations of hot all year. I have simplified my clothes to the point I can keep everything in my closet except my heaviest coats, but then I rarely need them. I keep those in a bin. I only need winter clothes a few months out of the year but I need summer clothes all year 😊
I did the 3:30:3 method this spring/summer and I LOVED it. I’ve been struggling with my weight and it was such a relief to only have pieces in my closet that fit my body NOW and that I felt good in. There’s so much freedom in my closet now. Now to switch out to Fall 😊
I do have a seasonal bin but it’s very small and just lives in my wardrobe. In summer it has my hats, scarfs and gloves in. In winter it has my shorts and handbag (I only use a handbag in the summer as I don’t have coat pockets). All other clothes like jumpers and skirts stay in my wardrobe all year round.
🫶 I have used two bottom drawers for offseason clothing for years, and I love it! I like knowing what I have at all times and having access to different pieces depending on where I am or if I plan to travel somewhere where the weather is different. I agree that having everything accessible benefits me the most!
As a kid my mom made me a seasonal drawer of my dresser, so shorts and tanks in one drawer and long pants and sleeves on another. Now I just have a small enough number of clothes that I have a tops drawer and a bottoms drawer.
I have never used a seasonal tote. Years ago, I redid my closet with built-in drawers, space for shoes, and a few open shelves. I have no dressers, either. It all fits in my closet, and I love it! If I didn't declutter, I could not have done this. I don't miss anything.
You and Weston work together so well. I smile every time I see you two together. You both did so well decluttering and your closet looks great! I live in Upstate New York and I have around 30 items total for spring, summer, fall and winter. I don't use a seasonal tote. I move the clothes I'm currently using for that season to the front and the off season ones to the back in my closet. I do plan on buying a couple sweaters for this winter season. I love watching your videos and I'm thankful for them. ❤
I have basically 2 seasons. I am now using a drawer to help switching things out and just one bin for all my heavier knitwear. I do however, hang on to dresses that I wore at places were important to me (college grad, wedding, Tanzania trip). I have the closet space. I use half of a double door walk-in closet for my normal wear clothes and if I’m feeling overwhelmed I put a sheet over the others to “hide” or create a calmer solid colored visual space.
I'm with you on the seasonal bin. I no longer do that either. The only separate clothing bin I have is for maternity clothes and then when I'm using it, I take things out of my closet that definitely will not work during pregnancy. I like being able to see everything I have and it makes taking things out of my collection very easy.
Same here! I used to have a seasonal bin, but I found the task of pulling it out and switching over so daunting. Also, the big bulky winter clothes didn't really fit in there. I, too, live somewhere with a wide range in temperature (15 °F - 100 °F) and my winter and summer wardrobe are completely different (except for bras and pantys, but I even use different socks). I moved several times during the last three years and didn't have furniture to store all my clothes. Now I have a dresser and a closet again. I keep the clothes in season in my dresser, the rest is neatly put away in drawers in my closet. Everything is easily accessible at all times. When seasons are changing, I gradually pull some pieces out. When they get washed, I already put them in my dresser. When the new season has completely arrived I switch over all the seasonal clothing. This task is easy because I use cardboard boxes as dividers in my dresser and my closet drawers - so I just switch out the boxes. No need to fold stuff or pull out bins from the top of my closet. It just takes a few minutes.
I live in Northern Ontario with 4 distinct seasons, so I have 3 seasonal categories - warm, cold, and wet/transition. So I swap 2x year and keep out transitional season items. I shop my stash though and choose what colour/style I want for the coming season but I do have clothing that still fits me from over 25 years ago, so it keeps my wardrobe fresh and helping with not buying new items unless they are something I love and can see keeping for the next few years...or decades. Great job to you both!!!
I’m glad to hear a more minimal person talk ab not having a seasonal bin! I did the exact same thing and ended up coming to the same conclusion. It just doesn’t make sense for me and the space I have. I do have a small spot where I store out of season clothes but it literally only has swimsuits and hats and scarves. That works so much better in my opinion!
I have bins in my closet labeled for out of season tops, bottoms, and PJs, respectively and another one for “occasion wear” which has mostly fancy clothes and hiking clothes. I love this system bc it keeps those items separate but easy to access! I also keep “personal” and “work” clothes on separate sides of my closet bc I dress VERY differently for work
My system is similar! My dresser is for personal clothes and pants. My closet is for work clothes, fancy clothes, and off season shoes. Sometimes I'm a little overwhelmed by seeing all of my clothes at once, but its just the season I'm in right now that I need separate business wear for work.
🫶🫶🫶I’m in love with the dress you’re wearing in this video. I’ve realized that I love wearing dresses more right now because it’s making choosing outfits easier…and they’re more forgiving with bloating and weight fluctuations…but now I need warmer ones like the one you’re wearing here.
I live in TN. We have all four seasons and I’ve never had a seasonal bin. I have a small collection (minimal and tidy by nature). Seems like extra work to me! Love your videos btw!
Northern Florida local now so I use most of my wardrobe around the year. But when I lived in Ohio most of my life, I did what I call the “prime real estate” method. The things that were off season would live in the back and bottom of my wall-in closets or the sides of my normal closets. Still able to get to but was not the things I saw when I would enter/open my closet to find an outfit. Out of immediate sight, but not out of reach. Also, when I had really small closets, I put fancy clothes on the edge of the front coat closet because those were my “need but only on a rare occasion” items+always needed a tall rack for them, so it worked out well. Now I actually wear my dresses more and do put all my coats/jackets in the coat closet because well….Florida: coats are my rare but on occasion items now lol. The cycles of life! Always love your stuff! Love seeing a Godly lady be genuine and real about things and just joyfully living. Your channel is always a calming outlet on a hectic day. Hope you are had a wonderful first week off and are enjoying the season!! (Send Florida some cool breezes, please!)
Hi from Maine! I've minimized my clothing and have everything I need in my dresser and hanging up in my closet. Everything has room to breathe, it's quick to put away, and no bins of seasonal stuff to go through. I absolutely love how your closet turned out! ❤
I used to live in Massachusetts and I live in the Florida now. I never really had a seasonal bin. I just had the winter clothes on the left hand side of the closet or in drawers. I wasn’t always grabbing for them and everything I needed was in the center of the closet. I think growing up we used to have outdoor gear in a tote.
The band tees made me laugh, because my husband would never want to part with his either! Except he does actually wear them quite often. I loved how you gently guided Weston to be able to keep them, but in a way that works better for the space. ❤
I don’t have seasonal bins. We do for the most part have distinct seasons however we go fishing and camping and the warmer stuff is needed for those activities. Also I wear a lot of the summer stuff indoors even when it’s cold outside.
Living in the same area- I always bring the seasonal bin at the end of Sept so I have time to identify any needs I may have going into the colder months. Most of my items stay year round except for things like snow pants, christmas sweaters and the such. I now keep that seasonal bin in my garage instead of in my home. In our area lots of things can be layered through the seasons depending on what you're up to for the day.
I use to keep all my seasonal in my closet, but then i found I got discouraged and was more willing to donate them cause "I wasn't wearing it" when really I was asking in the wrong season. Now i keep my off season clothes in a separate closet still hung so it's easily accessible if i need something. It also makes decision making easy as i can see everything I WOULD wear for that specific season.
I keep everything in my closet all year, but I do micro-organize them. I actually bought some custom dividers on Etsy. For instance, I wear black leggings 95% of the time. So I needed to separate them by: workout, regular, fleece-lined, capri, etc. That way I’m not looking through all of them when I’m looking for something specific. It’s a game-changer.
I'm on a modesty journey and started wearing dresses a TON even in the colder weather. Thermal leggings with a silk slip and dress on top--> warm cozy blanket outfit. Anyway, I now have more options because clothes that would have been put away by now are things I'm layering up. It's pretty fun to mix and match!
I brought my tote up from the basement a few days ago to switch out seasonal clothes. I think I'll still keep the out of season clothes in totes but you encouraged me to declutter and be firm about decluttering. I think the two small shelves you put up for jewelry was a great idea. It looks nice and keeps "stuff" off the top of the dresser.
I live in the UK so we do have clear seasons. I do run quite warm so I can wear more summery clothes quite early in the year and late into autumn but I do keep my proper winter items separate and swap them out with high summer items. I think that time will be coming soon, might need to find my scarf and hat too!
I’m due for a closet declutter and rearrange. I have such a small amount of clothing that I just switch the out of season clothes to one side and in season in a easy to reach area. I have a two door closet. No walk in here. If I did have a walk in I would definitely put my dresser in there.
I totally agree with the seasonal bin issue. I tried it too and found the "switch over" daunting and im better now that ive decluttered. Live and learn!
Over here in Eastern Washington we’ve got the SEASONs for sure! Thankfully as I’ve gotten older, I have become more and more minimalistic. All of my clothes stay in my closet year round. I have less than 50 total pieces including shoes, lounge, pj, exercise… the only thing I have a ton of… Puma brand ankle socks from Costco. 6 of my kids share socks with me. So there are probably 30 pair of these total in my home that all live in my closet space. To each their own, but I am pleased with the easy maintenance with having anything at my fingertips! Sometimes in a week we will range in weather from 85 high to 45 high during fall and spring. Natalie, I love the transformation of your closet, what a difference! You are a delight to watch, keep up the good fight mama!
I live in the Northwest too and I would find it really stressful to have seasonal bins. The weather is all over the place! And it would just feel like another chore switching it.
I have a couple of totes that I use. I will empty it out on my bed.for the season that I am going into and put the season that I just came out of clothing wise in those totes. I still keep some "I can wear this all year round" clothes out, too. Truth be told, I still need to reduce my seasonal wardrobes. I always have way too much to do on my days off. Getting this house finally decluttered will be a dream come true.
We do the seasonal bin because we live in a small space (my husband and I each have one drawer and about 1 foot of closet space). As we have distinct and extreme seasons we swap out our clothes and store off season clothes under the bed. If I had the space to keep all my clothes out all year I would.
I live in Chicago, and it is snowing today. I have all of my clothes in my closet all year long. We have a standard non-walk in closet that I share half of it with my husband. I have one of every type of clothing, like one wool coat, one rain coat, one windbreaker, etc. And most of my items like pants and coat and shoes are in nuetral colors, so it goes with everything.
Minnesota lady here...I do have 2 slim bins that tuck under my bed. I like swapping out for fall/winter and spring/summer. The swap makes me evail my collection 2 times a year and I'm delighting to find things I forget about. Diff systems work for diff people but that's what's working for me 😊
I live in the south where we go through all 4 seasons in one day, lol. So all pieces are needed year round. Lots of layering that can be added and taken off throughout the day.
My seasonal stuff gets put away. The winter stuff is just so big and bulky, it doesn't make sense to keep it all out all the time here. But my summer "seasonal" collection is quite small - some shorts and floral dresses. My base wardrobe - like all pants and shirts - stay in the drawers always. We also go from really cold winters to potentially quite moderate summers here in Norway, so most things can be used year around. I'm currently doing a challenge from wool& though, where I bought this wool dress and wear "only" that for 100 days. It will probably take me longer as I have many days where what I wear is clothes for working outside or with the chickens, but I wear that dress whenever I go to the store or into the office or meet up with friends. That's a challenge that will really minimize your closet for around three months!
I used to not have a seasonal bin but after one particularly chilly winter day at work because I grabbed a sweater that was too thin; I knew I had to have a seasonal bin.
The weather in North Carolina is very unpredictable, so I keep all of my clothes in the closet at the same time. I do sort them per season. Love how you both worked together to clean out the closet! AND you both decluttered!!! So Proud!!! Great Job! 👏
I just put away the really bulky winter coats and gloves, scarfs etc. in summer to keep the hallway simple. And I change seasons for my kids because I don’t want to argue with a 3yo why they cannot wear shorts in the middle of german winter or their wool sweater for going to the beach in summer.
I’ve done both ways. For us, the winter/snow gear is the only bin I typically need to keep up with. The gear is so bulky and we don’t need the hats or gloves until November at earliest anyway. Everything else I keep in sections in the closet and drawers. Exactly because I tend procrastinate “big projects” like changing over the wardrobes/decluttering day vs as we go. I found seasonal bins had us keeping way too much. I bought less season specific pieces that wouldn’t work most of the year. Seeing everything I have is important for my brain to stop me from buying out of sight out of mind gaps or when stores start putting out the cute seasonal clothing. I DO have enough cute clothes, my brain just doesn’t realize it when it’s in a seasonal bin.
I am ling time not there with my closet but getting closer every year. I sing in choir so i have quite a few formal wear in different colors because we dress up for different occasions and then my everyday wear. Its so hart to have a few items. During the first year of cov!t i decludered 5 garbage bags because of you Natalie. that felt super good.
I do the vodka spray on my stuff too! For anyone who wants to try it, make sure you get the literal cheapest vodka possible. You can cut it with water but I think it works better with straight vodka.
Can I just say, I just love your new haircut. Been thinking it for the last month but just now commented on it. It inspired me to go shorter again. Looks so good on you ❤
🫶 I always love your content Natalie! Your honest sharing about your journey to get to where you are now with your clothing set-up was SO relatable!🙌 (compartmentalizing for the win!) Have a super week! 😁💗
I used to store winter stuff in bins, just to keep it from getting dusty or stretched out over the summer, but there wouldn’t be as much summer stuff to store over winter, because there are days in the winter when you might need shorts down here in Texas. So I just keep it all in my closet or dresser now. Then I know everything I have, and can start declutterring when it starts getting too packed.
I have seasonal bins. I live gaving an airy closet, so it works well for me to change it out. I live in a 4 season climate which swings between summers in the 90s to -20 in winter so there needs to be a lot of options.
I store my seasonal clothes in a bin with wheels under my bed. If it's inbetween change of seasons, I can always roll out the bin and pull something out to use for a random warm day in fall. My concept has worked well for me because I always have easy access for these changes of seasons.
I love love LOVE my YouSwim one piece swimsuit. I've had it for the past 3 years and will never buy another swimsuit, because no matter how my size or shape fluctuates, it still fits me! It's an investment for sure, but you don't have to worry about it not fitting anymore, and the thicker fabric not only allows it to stretch, but also conceals the nips!
I'm just North of you in BC, so I'm in a similar climate to you. I grab the few very seasonal things (shorts, Summer dresses, chunky heavy sweaters) & put them to the side of my closet or in the dresser I keep below my hanging clothes. Easy to transition seasons this way, plus I find I wear lighter sweaters & stuff like that all year round as our weather is a bit volatile lol. I feel like a bin works best for ppl who have huge wardrobes or live in places where they don't reach for cold weather stuff except for a very limited period of time.
I don’t have a dresser but I use the upper part of my closet for clothes I’m currently in and the lower part for clothes that aren’t in season. I’m also in the PNW so some days the lower half makes more sense! It feels harder to do a capsule wardrobe sometimes.
I used to have a bin per season (all 4), but now I've downsized enough to have 2 (spring/summer and fall/winter). I keep them in my closet so I can access if I want. I like it because my dresser is very small.
I love your minimal jewelry collection and it closely resembles the amount of jewelry I actually use and wear. However I have a huge collection of jewelry that I keep because I guess it’s sentimental, but I never reach for it. Do you have any tips for letting go of things and looking more critically at what actually gets used? I’m a minimal jewelry wearer and I’m not sure why I find it such a sticking point.
I also tried the seasonal bins this summer and found it didn’t work for me as more time went on. It helped me filter my clothing a bit more as I realized I had a few duplicate items, but overall, I prefer having immediate access to my entire wardrobe. I have two side by side hanging closet cabinets and I’ve switched the seasonal clothing back and forth so the current seasonal clothing is with my jewelry collection and off season is in my “storage” closet. I’ve found that works really well for me
I keep all my clothes out all the time, even though I live in a place with distinct seasons. I am fairly minimal, and dresses aside, I wear all my clothes all year long, I just add layers .
I recommend just a few things to put in seasonal bins. I only away the really bulky coats, scarfs, leg warmer etc. or short summer dresses, shorts, sandals. It makes my wardrobe more simple (and I have a small wardrobe!) but I have no problem with transitioning.
I feel the same about the seasonal bin mindset. Instead I try to put aside the extreme weather items. Where I live it can get incredibly hot and humid and also cold enough I need wool sweaters. Those and my linen shorts, tank tops go in a bin for the 8-10 weeks I can use them.
I’ve looked at my clothes and really wish I could declutter and do a capsule wardrobe. Well bit bigger Also with our heated homes and many going from house to car we don’t really need such warm clothes. Wish I lived nearby would love that hat
i live in a similar area to you (north western washington) and i definitely find that i cannot store away seasonal clothing. As i always say, washington weather is bi polar. We can have snow one day, sun the next. Sometimes these varying temps even occur within the same day. as a result, putting seasonal clothing away doesnt make sense for me, aside from snow clothes since we only use those once or twice a year anyways. I rotate my closet and drawers so that what i am regularly using is closer to me. for example, now that im wearing sweaters regularly they will move up and so on. I have a somewhat small wardrobe, definitely a tiny closet and that is what i have found works for me. it also helps me to make choices about purchases. if all my sweaters are put away, im more likely to buy one when im feeling chilly.
I do a seasonal bin. I keep a pair of shorts in my dresser for them when it starts to warm up and I haven't gotten the seasonal bin out yet. I also do the same with the summer with a sweatshirt ans cardigan for when it starts to get cool.
My husband and I share a tiny closet, think more linen closet size and we each have a dresser. That being said, we have 1 bin that we put shorts only in for the Fall & Winter. We also keep our swimsuits, 2 kuds swimsuits and our beach towels in a bin. The kids do switch out pj's for the season, so overall we have just 3 bins for 4 of us.
I live in florida so there is not much that we would put in a seasonal bin, but i do think if i lived in a seasonal climate that i would also have everything out..i feel its more simple that way being that i am minimal and don't have much anyway..the closet looks great!
Love this video! Gives me inspiration to tackle our apartment. I’ve been in the market for new boots and the blundstones you have look perfect! What style of their boots is the one shown in the video?
The only "seasonal bin" that I do with clothes is specifically holiday themed clothing. Christmas sweaters, Halloween shirts, etc; these all get stashed inside their respective holiday boxes. It's a pet peeve of mine to see themed things in my space when it's not that time of year, haha😅
I just recently started using an extra drawer for seasonal clothes as well. It's hard because all my summer fits all together but the winter clothes are too bulky so I hang them in a bag in an extra closet.
Since your talking about "Deodorant" I stopped using them all together and have a small bottle with water and celtic salt i use right after shower/bath and it does wonders. Its a mineral salt. It may not work for the 'heavy sweaters' but worth the try. And it's super healthy. The amount of the salt depends on you sweating level.
I'm where you are on seasonal bins...I basically move my fall winter clothes forward in my closet and put the summer spring clothes towards the back. Some of my pieces work for all seasons
I bought a pink jumpsuit and I did briefly consider buying all the colours
Track suits are the perfect compromise here 😂
You could do that nothing stopping you
I love how you and your hubby work together to create a fall/winter capsule wardrobe. Teamwork makes the dream work.
I love working with him!
So so happy for you that you found some jeans. I've been watching for years and have seen your health journey as you have shared it. Thank you for sharing. ❤
Thank you! G+D have been such a gift!
That's why I thrift most of my clothing or look for smaller/ethical businesses to support!
I love having a seasonal bin, just because it makes it fun to have “new” clothes again :)
YESSS!!!!❤
I haven’t done a seasonal bin before. I will usually just put my in season clothes to the part of the closet or drawer that’s easiest to reach. It’s always worked really well for me! Love these videos and all the gentle motivation!🍁🧡
My solution to the seasonal bin, always keep out just two items (example - two short sleeve shirts for myself and each of my kids) from the last season. Then, whenever I need them in that transitional period - I have them handy. They just hang out at the back of the closet or bottom of the drawer but it work for us!
Same!
Northern Ohio here, so 4 seasons. I'm extremely minimal with my clothing now, so I easily keep everything out. No seasonal bin. I love it!
I am a widowed senior and live in a two bedroom apartment. I keep spring/summer in one closet and fall/winter in another.❤😊
🫶 I have used two bottom drawers for offseason clothing for years, and I love it!
👏
You and Weston work together so well. I smile every time I see you two together.
You both did so well decluttering and your closet looks great!
I live in Upstate New York and I have around 30 items total for spring, summer, fall and winter. I don't use a seasonal tote. I move the clothes I'm currently using for that season to the front and the off season ones to the back in my closet.
I do plan on buying a couple sweaters for this winter season.
I love watching your videos and I'm thankful for them. ❤
I'm also in Upstate NY, and whoa....30 items for allll the seasons?!
I like a lot of options when it comes to clothing...😉🤷🏻♀️
I don't do a seasonal bin either. I don't have a lot of clothes so everything fits in our small closet. Love this video!
I would say as much seasonal sweaters and pants you've decluttered, it makes total sense to keep the rest accessible! ❤
A great observation!
I live in TN. We have all four seasons and I’ve never had a seasonal bin. I have a small collection (minimal and tidy by nature). Seems like extra work to me! Love your videos btw!
Natalie your relationship with your hub is so relatable. It is hilarious to watch.
I keep it all I the closet. I’m always warm so I like to dress in layers. 🫶
I don’t have seasonal bins. We do for the most part have distinct seasons however we go fishing and camping and the warmer stuff is needed for those activities. Also I wear a lot of the summer stuff indoors even when it’s cold outside.
I so enjoy your content! Thank you for these nuggets of joy. It's probably not always easy, so I just want to share that I appreciate this channel!
🫶 I keep all of our seasons of clothes out at once!
I have a seasonal bottom drawer too :) It makes it easier to choose what I’m going to wear, rather than have a mix in one drawer.
You guys are so cute!!!! Thanks for the incentive to go through my closet!!!!
I like to have all my clothes accessible. This was a fantastic declutter & your wardrobe looks so great Well done 👍🏼🌺😘
I do the vodka spray on my stuff too! For anyone who wants to try it, make sure you get the literal cheapest vodka possible. You can cut it with water but I think it works better with straight vodka.
I use the bottom drawer of my dresser for seasonal items as well
Can I just say, I just love your new haircut.
After some heavy decluttering, everything I own is in my cupboard 😊 The only things I put away out of season are my big winter coats.
It was such a kick to see you in person today ❤
I store my seasonal clothes in a bin with wheels under my bed. If it's inbetween change of seasons, I can always roll out the bin and pull something out to use for a random warm day in fall. My concept has worked well for me because I always have easy access for these changes of seasons.
That's a great way to do it!
I did a closet cleanout yesterday. 34 items gone. Got rid of things I don't reach for, didn't fit or not really my style. It felt so good to do that.
I love the wood hangers.
Well bit bigger
Also with our heated homes and many going from house to car we don’t really need such warm clothes.
Since your talking about "Deodorant"
I stopped using them all together and have a small bottle with water and celtic salt i use right after shower/bath and it does wonders.
