Buying an egr blankig plate can cure this. And in combination with remapping the ecu to not use the egr at all, opel did this to mine, it's an known issue on these ectoec 16v 1.4 and 1.6 engines.

I have screwed off the EGR. The hole on the basis is thickly covered with charcoal. The solenoid stick is stuck dead and does not embed when pushed. I immersed EGR into petrol. Maybe it loosens after a while. The issue is the solenoid is fastened to the valve, so the screws are hidden under the shell of the solenoid. The only way to disassemble solenoid and valve is drill off the screws. Purge off the charcoal, free the mechanism, then cut the thread in the solenoid holes and fasten valve to solenoid with new screws. Another option is seeking for used EGR on car graveyards.
@@Tigernor After applying an asterisk screwdriver to the slot of the solenoid actuator, the EGR valve unlocked, and when pressed, it embeds freely and returns!

EGR always has problem in this model of car.

from that time on it works like clock
what he did to the valve and what kind of defect it is ?
I guess he was getting error code P1405 (malfunction indicator lamp). So he literally changed EGR Valve with the new one.
Or maybe car surging and not idlung properly
