blkmustang007 the p13 intake manifolds have a spacer plate with butterflies. He took a spacer plate from another Intake manifold and added it for more volume. I also did this
good video. kinda wana buy another h22 mani and port it now. is there any gains to be seen / dyno graphs / flow bench numbers that shows that porting an oem intake makes power ? i removed my butterflys and used a new gasket and it idled like shit . had to throw the butterflys back in.
Wrench life 604 I've seen some drag cars run gutted stock manifols like this one, works well for engines that are build for top end. but honestly for daily driving i doubt it would be an "upgrade" specially when you just take the butterflies out leaving the spacer in there only to cause turbulence in air flow, maybe thats why it idled poorly or a manifold leak.
Notice your not f20tetop on Instagram anymore. Question. How was it after the port and polish? Did you have a tune after? Was the loss on The low end substantial or minimal? Thank you.
X Tron Garage thanks.. I wanted to go more into detail on each step but didn't want to make a 20min video .. but on the next manifold Im gonna do a bunch of smaller detailed videos..
Not going to lie when I first started watching this video I was thinking to myself oh great here comes a f****** hack job,... But at the end of the video you actually did a really good job man nice work
blkmustang007 thanks I didn’t have the time to do a detailed step by step .. video doesn’t show a lot of the work that went into it ... check out my ig f20redtop for even better manifolds
Complete waste of time.... Especially for street cars because you loose low end where you spend most of your RPMs in and the gains up top are only marginal
how much do u sell them for or how much do u charge to do it? I just got one with the 97 prelude the motors been rebill but nothing really done to it but headers and the cold air and take. I know nothing about these motors or these kind of cores have only worked on V8 Chevy and ford motors dont know the 1st thing to do to help make it run better or faster
Formidable Boxing lol people say they feel the difference???? Tell them to back it up with data... I’ve had people come into my shop and I fix a simple oil leak and they swear the car drives better.
Julio Pizarro that little black box that the butterflies is connected that solenoid too can it be deleted? Doesnt give you check engine light or problems?
Chicho Chingon yea. I know that with the h22s younger sister the f22ax, adding another plate and removing the butterflys and sealing the holes in only the extra plate. And still utilizing the butterflys in the original plate. it adds a considerable amount of torque. with these small engines low torque is the problem. so it is certainly noticeable. wile I do not know the math behind it all. I'm sure there is a limit. but I have heard of guys triple and quad stacking these plates. you can then refine and maximize the torque with adjusting the length of the cold air intake tube. I tried 3 set ups. I had 2 cai set ups pipe and filter. I originally wanted to run it to the front bumper. and had to cut one of the tubes. so wile I was at it. I attached a filter to the 10'' cut piece of pipe for an Uber shorty. it was snappy at the bottom end but fell on its face up top. I tried one whole tube and the full length to my custom air box and intake ducting. the longest felt week on the low and would come alive in the mid and push threw the top way hard.
It’s 20 degrees outside and your making me wanna rip out my manifold and port it lol
I was wondering if you unplug the butterflies will the check engine light will come on?
One day I will accomplish this on my lude! Great tutorial man.
did the same along time ago but with an extra butterfly plate. worked great
RyZen Powered what exactly do you mean extra butterfly plate
blkmustang007 the p13 intake manifolds have a spacer plate with butterflies. He took a spacer plate from another Intake manifold and added it for more volume. I also did this
Does adding an extra plate do more for torque or horsepower?

Great How much HP did you loose?

Thank you.
Dreamability sold it to nitrouslude on ig , but never got to ask him bout the low end power , but looks like he’s having a lot of success with it ....
very nice thank you for the tutorial im much more confident and looking forward to doing this tomine in the next week
Nice job man Love this Video.finally someone to show me how it's done with a H22A intake manifold.:)
X Tron Garage thanks.. I wanted to go more into detail on each step but didn't want to make a 20min video .. but on the next manifold Im gonna do a bunch of smaller detailed videos..
What about the euro R h22 manifold?
Not going to lie when I first started watching this video I was thinking to myself oh great here comes a f****** hack job,... But at the end of the video you actually did a really good job man nice work

Did u just do the same to the throttle body or buy a new one?
Does anyone know what this does ? It's cool what he doing but does it give it more tq or hp
Pearl_ White_Sh I imagine it will give the car more top end (hp) at the expense of low end (tq). I want to see a dyno chart
More air = more power essentially. Not too sure about deleting the butterflies though
Complete waste of time.... Especially for street cars because you loose low end where you spend most of your RPMs in and the gains up top are only marginal
It's kills your low end torque just to add maybe 2hp in full throttle
whats the name of the song in the background.. dope
what size flex hone did you use
Did you have any issues with the way the car ran after the ported intake was reinstalled?
Chris Langford haven't installed it ... but I've sold a couple of them and people say you can feel a difference ...

and about that vacuum line that was connected to open and close these 4 butterfly?
Can u give me some info what to do with that?
Vtec JDM I just deleted along with the black operating block underneath the manifold..
Julio Pizarro that little black box that the butterflies is connected that solenoid too can it be deleted? Doesnt give you check engine light or problems?
do you think the mid plate is necessary
Chicho Chingon nah it's not necessary, it can be deleted...

Rob Cormican how considerable of a difference was the torque jump?
about how much do you charge for this?
Midnight Wrench Turner I stopped porting manifolds...
Where's the before and after dyno charts?
tim m never dynoed my person car with it , but had a lot of people dyno their cars with them and seen gains ...
Before AND after dynos? I bet you gain top end, but I doubt whether the gains overpower the losses
