@@highwaystar3780 he was a real talent and seemed so humble. If you haven't already seen them, check out his videos on how to play Jeff Beck...those really shine and made me a Michael Casswell fan.
Michael your death has hurt us so hard. Your gifted skill as a guitarist and teacher were only matched by your lovely easy charm and humour. You had so much more to give, you left the party far too early. A huge void is left behind in the guitarist community. R.I.P
The nod at the end was Joe communicating to do a turn-around to end the jam. Not taking anything away from your comment its still valid, just felt compelled to point that out & now I feel like a know it all. Sorry if it comes off that way, not my intention
Still miss you Michael. Never met you but your playing does the talking. Love your guitar playing and your teaching. You were a unique and special player. Thanks for everything you gave us. RIP.
I said it when he was alive and I'll say it now he's resting. That was one of the best improvisations I've ever heard. It blew Joe's very nice contribution out of the water. The variation, the emphasis on certain notes, the tone, the technique. Amazing. I've been coming back here for years. Brilliant.
Hearing the news today, I tried to think how many hours of his RUclips videos and lessons I've watched through the years and how he may have, unnoticeably to him, delicately influenced me. Our playing styles are by no means similar, but still, some of his things embedded into my playing, without even me realising before writing this comment. Thank you, Michael. Rest in Peace.
Over years and years I come back to this masterpiece of these two absolute legends.... Never can I quench my thirst for these incredible melodies... Out of this world... R.I.P. Michael
I never get tired of watching (and listening) to these two outstanding guitarist play in this video. I would love to have a recording of this duet. This is how you respect your craft.
MC was one of underrated guitarist, he’s very creative and skillful..but i agree JB acted like a true gentleman, he was being himself and acknowledge that MC a good blues player as well..if you guys have seen the video MC played with GG, you can clearly see GG was kind of struggling in that video, never seen guthrie gets so nervous
Bonamassa is so precise it's fantastic, and Michael Casswell's little switch from tapping to the whammy on 3:15 sounds so good to my ears. Great players
I think we knew what to expect with Bonamassa here, we know how complete as a blues guitarist he truly is. For someone like me, who knew of Michael but wasnt as previously interested, this was a massive pleasant surprise for me. Props Caswell, some serious chops
such an expressive instrument . great playing by michael . g3 qualities there ... joe your a legend ... thank you both for sharing your talents with us
LA90004 Michael Casswell's input has been bothering me for a couple of days because it reminded me of someone else. Then tonight, it came to me... Steve Lukather. If Luke had been sitting in on this, I'd say his improvised-take would have been very close to Michael's.
Makes me very sad that I'll never get to chat with or try and poach licks from Mike again. Kudos to Joe for being a sport and giving him the chance to shine too. A class act.
Michael and Joe rippin' it up. Regardless of Joe's comment at the end, they both rocked big-time. It's vids like these that keeps me striving on the guitar.
Bonamassa is phenomenal and one of my fav BUT! I ve never ever heard such amazing playing like caswells before with going smooth at overall but amazing attacking notes upon that amazing licks... These two taking it to another level imo!
So interesting on these fabulous clips that so many people want to pick apart guys who are obviously wickedly talented in their own unique ways. Just sit back and enjoy!
Don't quit, keep moving forward. These guys & all others will tell you it takes time to get like they are. Everybody is different. Don't fret if your not lie them. You are you, just enjoy playing & loving music. Pass the passion to the next generation.
well said I agree and I think Joe does too after his last comment..i also liked the way Michael varied his tone thru the use of his pick and when he used his fingers and the whammy bar..
Amazing what you can do with the fingers if your nails are strong enough. A real pleasure watching and listening to someone whose tutorials I've studied when he was teaching other people's songs. This is great to finally hear Casswell freed up. And Bonamassa was a real pleasure to experience close up like this. Thanks for the video!
Bonamassas sound related so much to BB King, never.forget your roots. Really cool Jam mann, hard not to get discouraged as a guitar player with playing like that
Well said Counsell!.....they are both extraordinarily talented musicians who express their souls in their own unique way of feeling, phrasing and tone. I don't think either one is that much"better" than the other....both are just different.....and amazing....although if I had to vote I would probably go with Joe....
I come back to this to listen to Michael Casswell. He really kills it here…I’ve stolen a couple of his licks here and there for sure.
Same, would you happen to know what scale is being used here?

How did he die?
SWIMMING ACCIDENT TRAGIC...RIP BROTHER.
2 years on and his presence is still missed.
I liked Michael’s guitar playing. And, he was a great teacher. It is hard to find good teachers.
What a cracking jam session: JB nodding appreciatively after MC's solo and his comment at the end was pure class.
You stole my comment, dude!
The nod at the end was Joe communicating to do a turn-around to end the jam. Not taking anything away from your comment its still valid, just felt compelled to point that out & now I feel like a know it all. Sorry if it comes off that way, not my intention

I like Joe's comment at the end.......and I'm inclined to agree.
And now then have him
Typical of Joe ,very humble, appreciative of others talents.
I really liked Casswell's solo
Aside from all of this being amazing, Mike's rhythm playing is absolutely sensational here, rip to a true guitar legend
I have never seen Joe where he doesn't deflect praise to who hies playing with. Love that. He really is a humble, but confident guy.
JOP HAS NOTHING TO PROVE TO ANYOINE.
Still miss you Michael. Never met you but your playing does the talking. Love your guitar playing and your teaching. You were a unique and special player. Thanks for everything you gave us. RIP.
It's just like Joe said "With a guitarist like this... why do you need me?"... :)
Just amazing, I never tire of watching this jam...
Best guitar instructor i learnt with ever. his touch feel and tone were just mesmerizing. RIP michael miss you buddy.
Great playing everywhere but Michael Casswell really smoked, that was sensational!!!
Caswell is my hero! Best underrated player in the world :)

Joe Bonamassa he is my guitar player I cannot stop loving his guitar blues chords progression
Thank you Michael, i Will never forget you man!! ❤
So sad that we lost Michael
As a drummer, I find this extremely fun to play along to.
Wait till I tell my friends that I jammed with Joe Bonamassa!
Wow ...
Joe is simply amazing.
Mike's got some serious terrific chops.
Over years and years I come back to this masterpiece of these two absolute legends.... Never can I quench my thirst for these incredible melodies... Out of this world...
R.I.P. Michael
Michael is a storyteller on the guitar. Amazing phrasing.
Was
Incredible playing, they compliment each other very well.
Two great players and nice guys !!!!
One of my favorite videos on youtube.
Wow - casswell is phenomenal
I have to come back and re visit this from time to time. Michael was a truly gifted player, taken from us much too soon. Rest in peace brother.
Caswell is clearly an awesome guitarist. So much technique.
Man! What can we say? Taste, style, historical knowledge of the blues, and feel. We are so privileged to hear both these gentlemen together.
Rest in peace Michael.
Joe Bonamassa!Great Blues!
Could anyone match Michael's generosity in this playing, it was a wonderful moment.
I never get tired of watching (and listening) to these two outstanding guitarist play in this video. I would love to have a recording of this duet. This is how you respect your craft.
Both are awesome. And they have different styles, which is very good. Also, JB acted like a true gentlemen here.
***** Absolutely, and a pleasure to see.
Juan_RockGuitar JB is a total well mannered human being. I wish there were more like him in todays youth. Both are very humble men. RIP MC

Amazing Michael Caswell
❤️
Hearing Caswell improv is a whole trip! Superb guitarist in a league of it's own. Rest in power Michael Caswell.
Bonamassa is so precise it's fantastic, and Michael Casswell's little switch from tapping to the whammy on 3:15 sounds so good to my ears. Great players
I like how both styles are both traditional, and yet now so yet they both have feeling in their own way. So awesome.
Both fantastic players but I was astounded by Michael Caswell here - just stunning - not very often Joe gets blown away - but he did this time.
Too much talent in one room. Michael and Joe are awesome.
Still sad as I’ve watched Michael do these videos from years ago…just a reminder how fragile life is…..enjoy everyday ….RIP Michael 😢
I think we knew what to expect with Bonamassa here, we know how complete as a blues guitarist he truly is. For someone like me, who knew of Michael but wasnt as previously interested, this was a massive pleasant surprise for me. Props Caswell, some serious chops
I love how they understand each other through music and make those perfect transitions.
I must've listened to this at least 1000 times
The way Joe plays what he plays is amazing, the tone, the phrasing etc. Caswell is a little more creative with his licks, both brilliant
Casswell is great here.
Joe is more guitarist than I perceived. His blues licks are top shelf. Mike holds his own and gets the nod from Joe!!
What a sound playing very well done
Today, as yesterday, I come back here to listen you, Michael. Your sound lives 💗
Thanks for still listening-we do too ❤️
same, Michael still lives on. Definitely an inspiration.
Such a warm tone....sounds awesome..
Im always pleased by Michael's performances in these jam sessions
Mike is intimidated by no one, great player... would love to hear more of this stuff.
such an expressive instrument . great playing by michael . g3 qualities there ... joe your a legend ... thank you both for sharing your talents with us
This was as much Casswell's video as it was Bonamassa's.
LA90004 Michael Casswell's input has been bothering me for a couple of days because it reminded me of someone else. Then tonight, it came to me... Steve Lukather. If Luke had been sitting in on this, I'd say his improvised-take would have been very close to Michael's.
+Peter Marshall he's Luke and Beck influenced, great player as well
+LA90004 Caswell showed Bonamassa right up.
+Harry Morris meh his faster stuff was a bit messy and unarticulated
Mox_au ? His legato technique is incredible. The phrasing isn't sloppy, it's peng
I re-visit this epic jam every once and a while. R.I.P. Michael Caswell. 🤘🤘😇😇😇
Joe killed it. One of the best out there right now.
This is the best pure guitar video I've seen in a while.
WOW awesome!! Came here for Joe and found another awesome player!! Michael Casswell, you have a beautiful style, man!
Magnificent duet! Joe has a fabulous phrasing

Joe showing off his 59 Les Paul and he gets wasted by Mike Caswell - just love it - Caswell's phrasing is just stunning.
can't stop listening to this.
That was just lovely! Thank you both, Joe and Michael, for showing us how it's done: with class and style! :)
each of this guitar heros has there own spirit in this composition..both are just different...and amazing....respect ....
Two guitarists listening to each other, that’s the most impressive thing here... and in this age.
awesome musicians both, RIP Michael Caswell.
as fast a joe bonamassa plays i can still hear his Clapton influenced lines!! how amazing!
Bonamassa is phenomenal and one of my fav BUT! I ve never ever heard such amazing playing like caswells before with going smooth at overall but amazing attacking notes upon that amazing licks...
These two taking it to another level imo!
Casswell had taste and skills, a well rounded player I've enjoyed and been inspired by. RIP
So interesting on these fabulous clips that so many people want to pick apart guys who are obviously wickedly talented in their own unique ways. Just sit back and enjoy!
Exquisite. This was a beautiful blend of complementary styles from two astonishingly gifted players who were *listening* to each other.
Still one of the best blues jams here on the net, ever!! Such a shame that Michael is no longer with us. RIP
Is Joe using the Marshall class 5 combo?
One of the very best guitar jams out there
kudos to both and to the rhythm section from each player especially!

i love Michael's face at the end! Speaks volumes for Joe!
I've never been moved by JB's playing until today. Damn dude!
