I thought you was trolling but i see that is true :'( ! I can't believe, this is so sad man... I had been seeing so many Casswell videos through the years :(
C`mon ! Guthrie would have opened the door to you in 1989 and said " Hello Man .. I will get a cup of tea together and we can listen to my Zappa albums . Course he can make tea.
everytime i just see guthrie play, i just immediately got the urge to pick up my guitar, and just practice till my fingers bleed, he's such an amazing guy
At the end, Guthrie takes his right hand away to make a metal sign whilst legatoing furioualy with his left hand. This is why everybody loves Guthrie. Otherworldly guitar skills, wicked sense of fun.
@twessels It's an effect, also called a "rotating amp", because of the fact that the speaker in the amp rotated on itself, generating a sort of vibrato sound. Yes, it was first used on Hammond Organs :)
@iguitarmag loved the e-mag! loved the andy james, rick graham, and tom quayle sections.. would love to keep seeing those guys in there. Also any lessons with guthrie would be awesome
This mag si just great!! its just that the video at the mag is so slow to load.. it would be better if all the video will be uploaded here in youtube.. so that we can practice2x all over again... tnx
This pedalboard is maybe his best one. That peterson is better than the polytune, the analogman chorus is better than the providence, the evendite delay sounds better than the tc, the guyatone wr 3 is better than the wr-5 etc etc And his suhr sounds better than his new charvel.
100% bro, back when he seemed to pick the gear he liked versus played the gear that endorsed him. I can respect the hustle and wanting to make a better living but can only imagine his home rig still has his old favorites, and of course his suhr moderns ;)
@nepotiums I used to own a valley arts too. I didn't exactly take an arrow to the knee but i did leave it at the counter when I checked into the monastery, myself. As fate would have it Guthrie was there meditating on a certain Robben Ford bend. I took to tending the garden more than might be considered necessary.
@nepotiums Morning, the interviewer is Michael Casswell - you can check out his column which features in each issue of iGuitar - also check out the Jams he had with Guthrie & Bonamassa! Check out issue 1 for the Guthrie feature & Issue 4 for the Bonamassa feature! All the best - iG Team!
What does he have against Bulb? I mean, he's not my personal guitar idol, but he's far from bad. He does some pretty wonderful things technique and recording-wise. He doesn't have to be your cup of tea, but he's a good musician.
"I digress, Welcome to Jazz Club". This dude is the funnyest guitarist on RUclips!! His other videos are Incredible guitar playing, explained with the enthusiasm of a brick, LEGEND!!
Ya, in this video, he demonstrates mastery of several American styles like funk, blues, jazz, and shred. It would be neat if he could invent a British style though.
Well anybody who thinks Guthrie is fake or sterile just needs to get their head out of, well, you know. This guy can play ANY style extremely convincingly. Jazz, rock, blues, metal, country. He is a natural freak. Not many people could EVER learn to play like this even if they started at 3 years old and played incessantly for about 40 years. Which is what Guthrie has done.
@CJSchecter96 alot of them you cant run in the loop. But, the difference is a loop bypasses better than running in front. In other words it doesnt effect your overall tone as much but the loop also weakens some effects.
I don't know why they don't sell that WR3 anymore, their website is even gone, the Guyatone website, and you can find WR2 on ebay but not the 3. too bad.
I still can't believe Casswell is gone... his talents and teaching will be forever remembered.
What??
@@spencerhill712 he died years ago from drowning on vacation...
Truly lost one of the greats.
@@dropkickpherby6994 Drowning on vacation? 😳😭
R.I.P Michael Casswell
I thought you was trolling but i see that is true :'( ! I can't believe, this is so sad man... I had been seeing so many Casswell videos through the years :(
@@AdamSteinzOfficial Thats not actually funny.
@Gerry Berry Then you are one sick f**k.
@Inspiritual idiot 1
@Gerry Berry idiot2
I can only watch five minutes of Guthrie each month. Any more and I would dissolve into tears and sell my guitars...
Peter Marshall haha man)))) true story
It's now down to 2.5 minutes, as I'm a Greg Koch fan too. I'm suffering from inspirational overload.
+Peter Marshall You said it same here.
+Drake Nermarco. Yep, but Guthrie can do it too . He knows how to make is guitar cry
So sad to hear of Michael Casswell's passing last month... such a wonderful player and a beautiful human-being. :(
Ok I admit these two are astonishing guitar players but I bet neither of them can make a decent cup of tea. That's where I come in.
Haha! That's funny...
Captain Snort You can't sound as English as Guthrie and not make a good cup of tea infairness
Jordan Higgins you may be right but by golly that was funny
LOL

I could listen to Guthrie all day. Just brilliant.
His freaking one-handed/pick hand up in the air legato is so clear and clean it sounds almost picked!

I thought I was in church when he played @2:15
@jclp81 Brilliant thanks very much! Glad your enjoying the mag - hopefully issue 2 should be along soon! Thanks for the suggestions! :)
I could watch this all day.
He can make any pedal sound amazing.....no need for vintage or anything,....he is amazing!
R.I.P Michael miss ya Dude .
Without any doubt the best guitar player that I have ever seen!!!!!
Awesome - a totally new level of playing on any standard.
Michael and Guthrie, two of England's finest axe men.
that moonphaser sounds so beautiful.
Ok so I found the best guitar player in the world
Very Good, the effects ...
Guthrie Govan Plays Guitar Very Well
I love how humble Guthrie is when he mentions Robben Ford's ability.
i love how casual his awesomeness is
2:15 is wonderful

Thanks! Now i can'tt unsee it. lol
Guthrie Govan is not just a great guitarplayer, he's a true musician and I love how humble and cool he is. A great person.
This pedalboard is maybe his best one.

BEST GUITARIST EVER! MY MIND IS BLOWN!
that guyatone pedal sounds
soooooo awesome
I think Govan is the limit of what is possible on a guitar.
It may not be, but I think it approaches the limits of what can be appreciated by a wider audience.
Guthrie Govan is an amazing musician!
@roccckkerrr Hi there, thanks for the feedback - will pass the info onto the development team.

Yes it is. Mahogany neck and body with flame maple top.
everytime i watch Guthrie. .my jaw is dropping
I did not expect Guthrie to play the Mothership
Try and find one. Great little pedal
Crazy speed! He's so great
Altough Michael is a great great guitar player in his own right!
Love this guy! proper makes me happy to play guitar. Not keen on his music though.
This guy is amazing.
Really reminds me of Steve Coogan lol. I met Guthrie 2 years ago, he's absolutely amazing.
Its Michaels reactions for this interview that make me smile :)
Guthrie Govan is just awesome
2:16 Nice jazz playing
Come on Michael !! Do something !!!
1:05 , love that laugh, pure joy and fun!!!
4:33 Gotta love the Comic Sans font in the pedal there

Love the Superstition (Stevie Wonder) thingy he plays at 0:45
Man that dude slaps and pops quick.
His technique altogether is HOLY SHIT!

Apart form putting together good solos, Guthrie can put together substantially longer sentences than most of us. :)
It's called slap guitar, think licklibrary has a video containing details on Guthrie's slap guitar technique.
@CptColtFlash thanks i didnt know anything about loops but its good to know
His slapping technique. HOLY CRAP.

Can you link to the full interviews between Casswell and Govan? Much appreciated!!!
I don't know why they don't sell that WR3 anymore, their website is even gone, the Guyatone website, and you can find WR2 on ebay but not the 3. too bad.
1:06 I'm not sure if that man was laughing or crying while watch guthrie's lick 😂
Arguably the best Pedal in the World!! said by none other than GG
I'll get my coat and go sell my guitars now 😅 Guthrie is beyond words.
Love this guy!!!
Guthrie Govan in another level
I bet that dude was so happy to see Guthrie do this right in front of his face. Look at that crazy smile. Haha
Very useful guitar Michael Casswell... :P
Welcome to the world of Guthirie Govan.
Casswell is going nuts here :D
