I have been an ardent fan of Allan Holdsworth for decades and it took me a long time to let other guitarists into my “bubble”. Guthrie Govan is one of them.
Undoubtedly one of the giants of music that future generations of musician will stand on the shoulders of. I bet that there's a whole section of his brain that's re-wired itself purely for music.
I love when he did the octaves chord slides. Love a jazz guy that did that. I was so in love. But also I just love metal, and Guthrie reminds me of why I love playing. So many sounds and you can have fun too
This guy is brilliant, absolutely crazy and completely unpretentious at the same time. If there were no guitars, they would have to be invented for him.
6:53 as we end as ....twisting mustache or the longest peice of hair in throat ever ?! Its a watch 2 times viddy. 1st Guthrie, then twirling man. Ha ha
I’ve seen this other guy, I think he died, but he had invisible f holes, he was diabetes huge, and he played one note with the fattest sausage finger and shook his whole fat hand all around for this wonky vibrato, his right boob leaked over the whole guitar it was insane, someone gave him an honorary doctorate threw it in the ⚰️
We all connect to different things. I could listen to Guthrie all day. Not because of his insane skill, but I find his playing just incredibly interesting. I never know what he’s going to post next.

6:25 Guthrie plays the lick and the drummer smiles after hearing it hashsfhasdhash
I was giggling like a school girl after that hahaha
The bass player also plays it after Guthrie
hashsfhasdhash?

that Jeff Beck cover was Awesome!
I think better than the Billy Sheehan (no fault of his)
6:25 the lick :-)
Guthrie, what a wise and beautiful soul!
Guthrie reinvented the guitar!
No he didn't. Jeff Beck Did.
@@apstech4618He too.
@@apstech4618 Beck, Holdsworth and Govan.
He's as close to a GENIUS guitarist as I can even imagine.
What a great Cause We've Ended version!
What. A. Monster. He's quietly and politely horrifying.

Beyond human....
Where did you find this version of Guthrie doing Beck's Cause we've ended as lovers? Best one I've seen on youtube.
His playing is out of this world, but I like his talking even more.
6:24 throwing in "the lick" a couple times for good measure 😂
When guthrie play his suhr, there will be no limits
How did his world record joke not crush? We all watched those videos on RUclips in 2008.
There are no dark Guthrie Govan moments!

Ha ha
Cool my photo 🎉
I'd have to sign that contract with el diablo to play like that ! Lol
6:25 lick gig joke
What is the joke?
@@nicholasjohnson6307 the lick

W.O.W.
Which Guthrie Govan moment is not brilliant? That's the question
God.
5.30 ......
Music alives
All the ugly stuff comes in between and thats why it works...lol....
If I wouldt be Dizzee Rascal I would (and should) be ashamed to share a stage with real musicians.

Give me Randy Rhoads, Jeff Beck or John Goodsall every time.
Guthrie is up there with all of those, and better than Rhoads.
Guthrie = GOAT
Absolute 'zero' connectivity between me and his talent.
He plays all for one and none for all. Strange - he knows all, but doesn't deliver.

Last jam is so fucking good. It's like everything that is being played, is in the right place. Absolutely nothing wasted.
