I picked up guitar for the second time during the youtube revolution and visited his lessons and demos regularly. Maybe because I was also a big fan of Jeff Beck. I really liked how Michael explained importance of certain things in such subtle ways but also you knew it was serious. Even when he did amp demos he added his bits of wisdom in where to pay more attention and giving you a sense of foresight.
I don't why, but I heard it just today that he passed away. I'm depressed all day long because of this, I learned so much trough his lessons from him. And I just loved to hear him talk, you could directly tell that he his a awesome Person....
Shocked, just been watching ,some of his reviews, always such a relaxed ,likable bloke, and a refreshing talent , as a guitarist, and musician ,and obviously , a sincere ,and generous spirit. To find out, just now, that hes gone,is a real shock, most sincere thoughts of sorrow ,to his many friends ,and family.
I feel a bit like the guy thats only just learnt that the Beatles broke up... I had no idea he passed away. He was perhaps my favourite Lick Library tutor & I still go back and look at his dvds - he had a real pleasant, gentle manner on screen and would have been someone Id have liked to meet. I would have loved to have gone to that Tribute Concert
An awesome tribute and a touching ending to honor a brilliant musician, I wish I could have been there to talk about the impact Michael had on us and how much we miss him...he will never be forgotten.
Thanks to Michael I picked up guitar after a good couple of years and since then watched all of the YT vids... What a great guitarist and a man he was. Sad as it is it is also relieving to see this event happen.
My lick library days learning the guitar and what I can play today is partly down to you. Cheers Michael
