[17] Dip-Dye Aluminium in Boat Restoration

Since the end of 2016 I own an old wooden Dragon sailboat from 1938. This video shows a very small part of the ongoing restoration process. When the boat ist only half-finished, why should you play around with changing color of an aluminium tiller fitting?
The answer is: All deck gear ist made from bronze or brass and I simply did not like that aluminium part. The rudder requires a very special design of the fitting, so this whole aluminium and steel tiller fitting could not be replaces easily. That is why it had to change colour.
