Robin's voice is so beautiful and this song is so emotional. It makes me cry. Rip Robin ❤🙏
Robin told his son as he laid sick to play a recording of this song and lay it on his chest when he took his last breath. Robin had such a beautiful singing voice. May he RIP.❤
Robin Gibb ... the voice that reaches your heart ... simply one of the greatest voices that ever adorned the music world ..... when we lost this brilliant singer/songwriter back in May 2012, we lost an absolute legend.
Robins Vibrato will never be matched ever, beautiful, RIP Robin my beautiful earth angel together again with your beloved Maurice ❤😢❤😢
My favorite Bee Gees song
This song + Robin's voice = perfection. No other singer on this planet could do justice to this song, not even his own brother Barry could, this song and Robin were meant for each other and nobody else
I have suffered with mental health problems after being diagnosed with cancer and a brain tumour and loosing the woman that I loved all in the same year and it feels like when I cry, the whole world is laughing at me.Just my take.. going to have this played at my funeral.
You stay strong and don't give in, I was diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2020 and no way will I give in, Stay strong.
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched this performance but when Robin starts to sing it never fails to give me chills. ❤
He’s incredible
A beautiful haunting song well done
@@generationgapreacts Great Reaction and a wonderful Bee Gees VIDEO and Song for you is "Alone" but you have to watch the accompanying video closely as it has many Home Video shots and even a flask of them appearing on Stage, aged 8 upwards,in Australia.
It,also, shows other clips over a 40 year period.
Barry turns around facing away when Robin sings this song.
Robin was like a secret weapon. When he sang it was just a whole new level. I am so sad for Barry…the oldest of 4 brothers is the only one left. Just not fair.
Notice how Barry stays completely back, even turned away from Robin giving Robin full center stage
Robin is my favorite too. I could listen to him sing all day long. Lost a great singer.
The only group in history to have a hit in five consecutive decades mom you rock I love the passion that your daughter has
aww, The Songbird himself❤ Mo described his twin's voice as "the voice that reaches your heart ". When asked what this song meant Robin said he wasn't sure and it was up to the listener to decide what it meant.
That’s beautiful. I found it very meaningful. Maybe I associated it with experiences from my own life
Incredible song and vocals by Robin. His voice is so beautiful and there will never be another voice like his. Great reaction.
This song and his voice were so beautiful
Pls review swan song of the bee gees and someone belonging to someone. It'll definitely move you...
The inimitable Robin.. gone too soon, never to be forgotten 😢 💔🌺🌟
One of the finest voices of his generation. Pure and unique.
This will always be my favorite Bee Gees song
Robin has the best voice of the brothers..
Tears in my eyes !!!
Great choice. This is one of my favorite 1960's early Bee Gees songs. There is no song that highlight's Robin's singing voice better than I Started A Joke. He sang lead on this song giving himself the opportunity to show how good of a singer he is and he certainly accomplished it.
Loved this song and felt very moved
Early 70s
Thanks, girls! Robin has always been my favorite... he sounds just the same here as when he first sang it at age EIGHTEEN.... the most unique voice of all the Gibbs, IMHO -
Beautiful
GOAT!
In my opinion their pre disco catalogue is by far their best work.
Yay, she’s on board! There’s no other group like The Bee Gees. Their voices, their songs, their lyrics, just touch your soul! I always liked them but when I was younger I didn’t take the time to really listen. Now there are certain songs and in some songs Barry’s voice makes my eyes tear up. The same with Robin’s voice. With Maurice Closer than close just moves me, though he’s got many more that I love were he takes the lead. We mustn’t forget the very talented Andy Gibb with his I just want to be your everything. Thank you both, it was a great reaction.
Such a thought provoking song
Whenever I hear and see the BeeGees I have to remind myself that we have lost 3 of the 4 brothers. Because I keep thinking that they are still right here with us! It's hard to believe that there is only Barry remaining with us. It breaks my heart x
The Bee Gees rocked in so many ways, I started joke, and It's only words, their vocals were so amazing , This is when music was amazing, I love all their music
Robin's voice is showcased here and it definitely brought the emotions. Thanks Ladies.... Words showcases Barry's voice.
MASTERPIECE!! R.I.P. Robin🥲
Notice how Barry turns his back,to the audience,to let all the focus be on Robin, and that incredible and unique voice.
Barry does indeed always turn his back and invariably draws attention to himself and away from Robin because performers so rarely do that. It is noticeable in a way that simply standing and playing his guitar as he normally would is not. To ostentatiously defer is not really deference at all; it is saying “Hey! Look how deferential I am!” The only way you would notice Barry while Robin is singing this song is for Barry to do exactly what he does.
@@beeharbour nitpicking,I’m sorry to say.
Robin was only17- 18 when he wrote this and it was recorded. At this time he was just a slender kid! You need to check out some other of their early music where Robin is the lead singer (and lead writer): Massachusetts, Tokyo Nights, Wish You Were Here, I've Gotta Get A Message To You, and many more..
I recently find this channel and I love it. IT's great to see young people discover Bee Gees. I understand her emotion.
Early Bee Gees are better than the disco Bee Gees.
Both are really good but I agree, this is the real Bee Gees.
Robin was so talented!
Love the Bee Gees but Robin is my favorite. All their songs before the disco era were fantastic.
Beautiful, sad song from a lovely man with complicated feelings. Thank you. I loved it as a child and have grown to love it more over time.
This song was beautiful
This song was used at his own funeral. That is very moving too!
Have always related to this song.
Good reaction ladies. I highly recommend the 5th of May, one of their earliest and best.
Bobby Goldsboro, Honey. Beautiful, sad, haunting
What's not to love , that voice is so moving
“I’ve just got to get a message to you” is another great one 😉😃. Nice reaction ladies 😊
Brilliant song ...
I'm a late getting to this reaction. But this is probably my favorite Bee Gees song. It was also something of my anthem in my late teens, and early twenties.
I Give This Song 👍👍👍👍
If you like Robin, than you will like his song "Massachusetts"
Actually Robin makes a mistake the first time round when instead of singing "I,finally, died which started the whole world living he said laughing though he corrected this in the second verse.
The talent is amazing WOW
I just remembered something... I hope you do a reaction to Robin Gibb solo 'Please' released in 2003.. his voice at that age was still heartbreaking!
Can't wait to check it out!
The 3 boys raised in Australia who went onto stun the world with their incredible harmonies. I also love the stereo album version of this song. I say “stereo” as there was also a mono version released too. To me the recorded version is even more emotional. Well done on the reaction. Craig 😊
Love Robin's voice!! Try For Whom the Bell Tolls, another Robin lead, beautiful song!!
Coming up soon!
Yep, that's another excellent song ...
My all time favourite Bee Gees song. It only needs two words……Absolute Perfection!
Hi, my dear sister Patricia(who is now in heaven) simply love Bee Gees, and Robin is her crush 😁, so this song made me smile remember her...another good reaction girls...👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you again! Thinking of Robin and your sister Patricia
@@generationgapreacts Thank you...🌷
You've got to try "Massachusetts" (the "all for one" tour live in Australia) version! Another GREAT Robin solo! Fantastic!
We definitely will!
For me this is Robin's best song in a very very long list of incredible songs......
Please do Words soon.
Thanks ladies from Germany for the good music! Robin and brother Maurice RIP all time!💌👈
A beautiful song sung by Robin. This proves that there are Angels walking amongst us.Sadly Robin and Maurice were called to heaven, but the world was a better place while they were here.Maurice also had a great voice but didn't sing lead on many of their songs.Thank you ladies for this!
Guys, you gotta react to Run to Me by the Bee Gees and Nights on Broadway!
One of the many most touching songs written, produced and performed by the three brothers - Robin could bring you to tears. “For Whom The Bell Tolls” is another incredible song. The lyrics will touch your soul. Great reactions, ladies! I’m a fan and have subscribed to your channel. You can’t go wrong with Bee Gees music.
I am like this pretty lady, Robin was a very fine singer.
Another great song please keep them coming the Bee Gees were the greatest!!.
Check out Wedding day…Robins voice is so great!
Andy Gibb, who died early in life, sounded a lot like Barry. Andy had some hits of his own.
I highly recommend listening to Robin Gibb with King Williams Collage choir singing Ellin Vannin . Its lovely ❤
There will never be another Robin Gibb. Incredible voice.
This one brings me back. I spent two years in Vietnam in the'60s and I started listening to them on radio broadcast Saigon back then. Thank you from Maryland
3:03 its heartwarming
it makes me cry as well i told a joke and the same happened to me i am 60
Rip To Robin, Maurice & Andy Gibb, We Still Miss You Guy's
My first BGs favourite
Phew, what a song, always loved it, and love your reaction ladies keep up the great videos thankyou so much.
this whole concert was killer... IS killer.
From the Bee Gees album titled Bee gees 1st, 1967
I got a bit teary eyed as well sweetie.
Great Reaction and a wonderful Bee Gees VIDEO and Song for you is "Alone" but you have to watch the accompanying video closely as it has many Home Video shots and even a flask of them appearing on Stage, aged 8 upwards,in Australia.
It,also, shows other clips over a 40 year period.
Patty-I believe Robin was 19 when he recorded this song. He's always been the one as far as I'm concerned .❤
60s bee gees are great!
The 97 Las Vegas concert is iconic - not only showing the BeeGees as a phenomonal live band , but also showcasing their ability to improve their older material as in this haunting version as well as "Gotta get a message". My favourite eksampel of this is" In the Morning" written ny Barry as a teen , now performed with their chestvoices and only Barrys guitar I hope you will react to this oneday
Well, I have mentioned 2 of those that they wrote for female singers (Celine & Bab's) previously to you both - so I'll just wait for those to show up first before I offer any more . . . as I don't want to overload you.
We will definitely get to those! We have a long list and going one by one
Yes, his voice is beautiful and much more. Mr. Blue Eyed Soul, full of vulnerablity. They knew how to bring him in in concerts. Not too many Robin songs like one after another due to dynamic performances. And so again: it's the three of them, makin' the whole thing complete. Barry and Robin with their individual, great vocal-abilities and Maurice, bringin' it always to perfect three-part harmony in thrilling chorusses.
He had this song played at his funeral.....
Robin's signature song, which really-- only he could do justice to. He requested this song to be sung at his funeral. Actually the live performance in the Melbourne concert 1989 surpasses this 90's one. He is sublime. Here's the link to that one (for your later enjoyment) ruclips.net/video/KkjZKprxAdI/видео.html
agree! it's the best performance and the huge standing ovation that made him blush was beautiful.
ABSOLUTELY! That was the best version IMO!
I was expecting that version as well. Anyways it's Robin so YAAY! 😍
@@kori2287 - 👍👍
Sorry we missed that one! Just happy to finally hear this song, Robin is amazing
A shame you didn't do a version of this songs when he was younger with a more powerful voice. This was pretty much Robin's song. He said the melody and idea came to him listening to the engines of a plane over Germany. Robin was always thought to be a loner and said he had trouble communicating with people so often felt misunderstood but his lyrics showed he could express himself very well. This song was so personal that he wanted it played at his funeral. Bodyguard, Juliet (Live in Berlin), Black Diamond, Rings around the moon, Ellan Vannin with the King's College Choir, Country Lanes, all show many different sides of his voice. May I please request "Juliet" Live in Berlin in 1991. ruclips.net/video/M_sRg_M7qVY/видео.html
Darn it Q, now I've got Juliet stuck in my head, not that it's a bad thing. Great suggestions, I suggested them as well. Cause great minds (or RG fans) think alike?😄
Love "Juliet" !!! .. My favourite Robin Gibb solo song ! .. It needs lots more reactions for sure.
Yes, there's a fabulous version from Japan on YT. I think it was from '73 or '74. Chills!
Yes. I've watched the video of Robin and them singing this when he was young. I wish they reacted to that video
He had "R8ngs around the Moon fa's one of his songs at his funeral- listen8ng to that never fails to break my heart, along with Ellan Valley
All the Bee Gees brothers are very unique, each one sounds different from each other, yet they have one of the best harmonies. Nice reaction.
Thanks again gste :)
Search Robin Gibb singing the anthem of the Isle of Man. It is very well done with a choir from there. He was born in the Isle of Man. Watch it. You will love it. It is called :"Robin Gibb Ellan Vannin. Feat. King William's College Choir""
ladies please please do a reaction to Bee Gees' "1st of May" You won't regret it I promise
Edge of the Universe was the first song I heard from the Bee Gees. Still one of my favorites.
"Love Me" is my all time fav Bee Gees song. Robin's voice is sooo unique!
Edit: Great reaction by the way! 👍
LOVE that song!!
Robins natural voice and his vibrato are what makes him stand out. Maurice (pronounced Morris) has a few songs that he has done lead on that also showcase his natural voice. Barry's falsetto is what most people identify with the Bee Gees but that is primarily from the point when the Disco phase began. They wrote the entire score for the movie Saturday night fever. Their youngest brother Andy as well as the twins Robin and Maurice have all passed away leaving Barry who is the oldest as the only surviving brother.
That is wonderful information on them. Thank you
What I love about the Bee Gees is that each of the brothers sings lead on different songs.
If you look closely you can see his brother Barry is playing the guitar and his back is facing the audience. He wanted to give his brother total 100% attention when he was singing this song. They had a lot of feuding in the early days and there was a lot of fighting between Barry and Robin as to who was going to be the lead singer, But I think they finally figured it out and they each had a chance to be in the spotlight. His voice is like that Of an angel!
I give Barry the benefit of the doubt ( a bit anyway) but he accomplishes the exact opposite of giving Robin 100% of the attention. You can’t help but notice him with his back to the audience as evidenced by how often his posture is commented upon. You think “Oh look, Barry is being respectful to Robin” when you shouldn’t be noticing anything but Robin’s amazing vocals. No one ever comments on what Maurice does because he does nothing unusual to draw attention to himself. Barry does and it’s noticeable.
Wow I thought you two were sisters and was wondering where the GENERATION GAP was lol but I know now . Nice reaction I love the reaction of the your daughter , I like to see the younger generations react to the older music and your reaction was awesome to see . God bless you both on your journey together . Also its SO nice to see mother and daughter relationship like you guys beautiful 🙏🙏🙏🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🙏🙏🙏
Awww, I’m so touched with your beautiful heart warming comments. Thank you Tom! 😊
I started to cry and my wife started laughing that's typical, I remember this song way back when it was in the charts my mother in-law loved this song, she is sadly past on now, we used to have a great laugh, good reaction to a good song, 🌹🌹🇬🇧
This is Robin’s song. Only he could perfect the sound that can capture an emotional connection with the whole world.
Absolutely Grand Ladies
Hi Ladies, another great song is "Love So Right". It came out in 1976 and reached number 3 on the charts.
Great reaction as usual.
Yess...Love So Right is a great song! It was my mom's favorite of the Bee Gees!
Writing that down!
Robin has a great waffling voice among others.
I always understood that the song was based on the time that they broke up as a group and each went solo for a while with much less success and then in the end getting back together. I think Robin wrote this song based on his own experience with this unsuccessful venture ("Hurting my head from things I had said" for example).
Great choice again. Did you really not know it? One of my favourite Bee Gees song. Robin's voice is best in this. Another song of this kind is "Words".
First time hearing this song! Mom typically played disco era bee gees growing up. Words will be another Robin led song for us, and a few for Maurice
@@generationgapreacts Words is lead by Barry. There are a couple of videos of Robin singing "Words" while touring solo after Maurice passed, but it is considered to be Barry's song. Robin usually took a break when they sang it in concerts, although there are some live versions where they added 3 part harmony in the last chorus. I think "I Can't See Nobody" is one of Robin's most lyrically beautiful songs, and the version he sings on the Midnight Special pours his heart and soul into it. ruclips.net/video/ZYO4KQ4s0II/видео.html
@@generationgapreacts They've created so much beautiful music together. Even Andy! Sadly he's died so young...
Robin's voice is like a year about to fall, but then he can belt it out.
Their harmony and songwriting ability is amazing.
Check out ", Fanny be Tender.."
Hi Roberta, we make a video “Fanny be Tender”, check out our playlist. Thank you for your comment. 😃
