THE video and Bee Gees song for you is ALONE and, please watch the accompanying video showing all stages of their life in Home Movies from 8 years old.ENJOY.
Robin had a great voice, his rendition of 'Massachusetts' live in Australia 1989 is a must watch, in fact the whole concert was great live performances from all the Bee Gees
The Bee Gees were successful here in the states LONG before they did disco music in the mid 1970's. People forget this early work which was excellent song writing. Let alone the singing. I love their early work BETTER than the disco music. I'm 68, when the Beatles and British Bands broke through 60 years ago this year, it changed my life forever. I was already singing with all kinds of records from the 1930's t brand new. But they pushed me over the edge. I became a music teacher. BTW you have such pretty eyes I'm surprised you don't attract thousands more viewers anyway 😀
God rest dear Robin, Andy & Maurice, all taken from us way too soon. Robin had the voice of angel, and now only Barry survives. The Bee Gees were an incredible band, not only producing a long series of hits for themselves from the '60's '70's and '80's...but they also wrote loads of massive hits for other stars. Your reaction was really quite beautiful, so many thanks. I hope you can do more of their iconic hits. 🙋♂
Yes, this Robins signature song during concerts, but he did have many songs that it was primarily him on lead and Barry would accompany him. I don’t know if they were hits but they are worth a listen if you want to explore The Bee Gees. A couple of my favorite songs from them (other than the ones you’ve already done) are: Fanny Be Tender (R&B) Jive Talking (R&B) You Should Be dancing (disco) Love You Inside Out (Funk/R&B) Love So Right (R&B)
No, I think it was at least equal in the 60s. Barry lead at least as many or more songs in the 60s than Robin did. Basically, it is as the Bee Gees themselves said in an interview: Barry is lead 1, Robin is lead 2, and Maurice is harmonies.
@@beangelic1000 Maybe unknown songs, but all well known songs before the disco era are sung by Barry, in the morning, spicks and specks, every minute, first of may, words, how can you mend, lonely days, tomorry (the cucumber castle songs), lonely violin, rest your love, all of my live........ From Robin I can name only 4 songs, massachussettes, I started a joke, my world, juliet. And believe me, I know all this songs from the TV(shows) and the radio at his time in my country, Robin was almost not present, not even in the youth/music magazines (only as a Bee Gees), while there were reports, covers, etc. from Barry!
Brilliant understanding of an apparently simple song! Seems like that Robin as a teenager enjoyed playing pranks, but something went wrong once and he felt really guilty. I think you do have a rare perception that can only improve with time (reading, listening, watching, reflecting). Take care Rere, greetings from Portugal.
Beautiful song. Always makes me cry. Love your reaction to this beautiful song. Some you would enjoy are Kiss of Life, I Surrender, She keeps on Coming, Walking on air and Ordinary Lives. ❤❤❤
Loved your interpretation, young lady. As you say, there are many ways to consider its meaning. For me, it was just an incredibly poignant song, both lyrically and musically. Like many others who grew up with their music, I tend to prefer their '60s material to their '70s disco era. They actually got closer to that early stuff in their final albums 30 or so years later. Robin's vocals are truly extraordinary. Another great Bee Gees hit from the '60s featuring Robin singing lead is "Massachusetts." 👍😉
the brother Robin is the main singer for this song. Listen to alot more to their songs. They are oh so good. Love your channel & reactions. This is from the 60's. Younger
Another trio that was popular in the late 60s and early 70s in the US was a band called Three Dog Night . Three singers that shared the lead in this group are fantastic . Please check out Eli's coming (live) or Liar among more hits for a taste of pure talent .
Most people associate the Bee Gees with disco but their early work in the late 60s and early 70s was different. Check out Massachusetts, Holiday, and New York Mining Disaster and Words.

Robin seemed so introspective and wanted to be understood and valued compared to Barrry. This was his signature song, but I always felt that My Life has been a Song was his song. Always loved his voice, Bee Gees fan for life ❤️
Robin Gibb here singing in this video is only part of the Bee Gees. They are 3 brothers, Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, and Robin Gibb....sometimes called "The Brothers Gibb" but known as "The Bee Gees" Their youngest brother Andy Gibb, had a singing career of his own, and was the image of his oldest brother Barry, in looks and in voice. Sadly he died very young, and was the first one to pass. Since then Maurice, then Robin passed away. The eldest brother, Barry, is the ONLY one left now. You need to take a deep dive into their catalogue.....GREAT songs, ALL of them.
The Bee Gees are Legends, but honestly my preference, I can't get into there 60's early 70' stuff. The mid 70's and beyond are so damn good. I say this because they have so many good songs from the 80's and 90's that folks rarely hear. Anyways great reaction, thanks
I totally agree that there is som much in the 80s and on, some of my favs from them are from post fever era. But I've come to love the early stuff too, even some of the Australia songs when I'm in that kind of mood. Really is just something great for every mood.
One of my favorites of the early pre-disco Bee Gees. Another early favorite is Massachusetts. It’s good to hear Robin singing in this one.
Finally someone who knows when not to talk. Thank you so much.
