I appreciate your reaction to the Bee Gee song ..I would like to see your react on the song of Robin..."Please" and ..."Don't cry alone" ..i'll follow you..😊😊😊
I did what you asked, and stayed to the end ... you always look great but at the end you had what I reckon is easily you're best look on camera ... short trimmed beard and hair shaved at the sides ... you should keep this look and perhaps lose the cap, or take it off half way through, and you look amazing in singlets/ tank tops showing off you're arms & body. I know you don't make much income from UTube, but you should have a hell of a lot more Subscribers because you're the sexiest looking presenter of any on here. Cheers mate!
This was Robin's signature song, right up until the end, and I always cry when I hear it. When he was in hospital in a coma his wife played this song and Robin always reacted. Rest in Peace sweet Robin...you are missed.
Devin Reacts - As I commented elsewhere here, Robin said this song WAS very spiritual to him. He was a very deep thinker even as a child and a loner who found it hard to communicate with others. He was very sensitive and always worried about how others perceived him. The gist of the song is how we fit in the world, how we see ourselves and how others see us. He requested this to be played at his funeral. It was his trademark song. To this day in concert Barry sings the first 2 stanzas and then a video of Robin comes up with him singing the rest.
Robin said he left it up to interpretation. At one time long ago he alluded it was about religion. You should check out a live version, especially in later years. Robin always gets a standing ovation. The Bee Gees were the best group live, nothing compares. They are one of these rare groups that sound the same and sometimes better live then recorded. All three have great solo voices, but together they are magic.
Another way I've interpreted this song is that it wasn't something "said", but what one has "done". Their actions hurt the ones around them and over time the person who did the hurting has to now live with the pain and regret of hurting the people he once cared about. Some things (relationships) can never be brought back to how they once were.
While I agree with you that the Bee Gees were excellent live I think that there were also other performers that were equally good or possibly a bit better. Freddie Mercury (Queen) was the best front man constantly engaging with his audience and they loved him. How many other bands do you know that when they get on stage the fans sing their songs to them word for word. He loved them too and it showed. The Beatles also had a great presence on stage with the girls screaming and swooning, fainting and being carried out. They had concerts where they sat in their group and fans came on stage and stood with them singing. the Bee Gees, The Beatles and Queen all had something that not many other bands had. They had certain movements or looks that meant something and all the other members knew what to do without anyone noticing their gestures. You know you are listening to a legendary band when they had what these 3 bands had. There are others that were extremely good too like Led Zeppelin but not quite to this perfection.
Hallo..Schade das du keine neue Reaktionen mehr von den Bee Gees mehr machst hab dir gerne zugeschaut. Sie haben doch so viele tolle Songs. Please react more Bee Gees. ❤❤❤
No, you're correct on your vibe on this. I would say Robin was a very introspective and sometimes melancholy person. But a great, awesome song and totally blew this out of the water!
In 1967 Robin and his wife to be were in a bad train derailment during which 48 people died on the train and others later from their injuries; he helped some people out until the emergency people found them and he and his fiancee were sent to hospital. From that point Robin always wrote songs with pathos. Being his twin Maurice stood up at home and said to Barry 'Something has happened to Robin!' they put the news on and saw the derailed train and collected them from the hospital. Separate from this my husband is Autistic does not comprehend jokes and if he tries to be funny it always goes badly wrong; in normal conversation he cannot read a room and often says the very worst thing possible. It is normal for him to worry himself awake for weeks trying to work out what went wrong. He often thinks of death and dying. This song could be a day out pf our lives. I am neuro-typical it is a marriage God has blessed as many thought it could not exist.
this song is true poetry in that each person can find a meaning that is personal. and it does highlight Robin's beautiful voice. RIP Robin and Maurice.
Robin was 19 when he sang this. He and Barry had a falling out, and the group broke up right after this for a year. When they got back together they stayed so until the end. This was played at Robins funeral per his request.
Thanks for the video, Devin. My favourite Bee Gees song of all time ... Robin's voice is unbelievable ... no-one else can match those high quivering notes. I just wish it was a bit longer, it's short and over before you know it. And you should stop apologising for getting things wrong, because you don't, you're usually spot-on because you take the time to do a bit of research, unlike most others. You work your audience hard with lots of animation and enthusiasm, which is refreshing!
Such a beautiful song sung by our fabulous Robin. Barry has said that he played this to him in the hospital room while Robin was dying. God speed, dear Robin.
You must check out " run to me " " Massachusetts " " my world " Robin was heard a lot more on their early hits, Robin has always been my no 1 Brother ❤️❤️❤️
Earlier in life Robin made a statement that he wanted this song played at his funeral. When he died, the song wasn’t dead played at his funeral. So very sad. Robyn’s voice was so unique. This song and Massachusetts, which were two songs that he had the lead on or two of my favorite.
I think it may have been played during the private part of the ceremony. He'd also asked for "How Deep is your Love" and it was played as everyone entered the chapel.
PS. You might have already done this one, but if not, try reacting to 'Massachusetts'. It's primarily Robin singing again and creates a beautiful atmosphere of love and longing. Cheers!
Haven't even started to listen yet but I know this song from my Uncle/Godfather and this is his favorite song... and its Robin singing... love it his voice is just so different.
Everyone would ask them what it means and they would always answer that it means something different to everyone and they wanted it that way, for people to have their own meaning.
The BeeGees stated several times that they did not want to interpret their songs publicly, they wanted everyone to find their own meaning in the words. Teen-age girl music? With lyrics and harmony this complicated? No way. This song became something of a signature song for Robin. In concert it was usually done as a solo. Barry has stated that some of the songs that Robin sang or had a large part in writing he will never sing on stage, that it just wouldn't feel right. Although this one he did, during his 2014 tour, as a very special tribute.
For the second time I'm facing a battle of cancer. First time colon this time kidney. I've planned to have this song at my funeral, along with Dave Mathews band "Gravedigger". Please give that one a listen. It's awesome!! Love ya !!
Hey Devon, I’ve been listening to your podcast for a while now I love you song selections. This particular song means so much to me I’m 63 years old now. I wasn’t a very good person or man in my younger days I heard a lot of people especially women. At 40 years old I found my true love, and we were talking one day and she said to me your life before you met me must’ve been a joke! And every time I heard that song in my younger years I would cry. I don’t cry anymore I married I love my wife I love my son but I hold onto that song it has so much meaning for me thank you
Need to check out Mo’s voice in closer than close or Man in the middle! Do the live versions of both! And check out their baby brother Andy Gibb Shadow Dancing!!
You got a look up Robin Gibbs funeral. As they’re traveling with his casket in a glass coach, this song is playing and everybody is following behind his casket even his dogs.
Hey Devin! Robin's voice is haunting on this song, this song was my best friend's song and she passed away in April of this year. Please react to "Closer than Close " this song Maurice has the lead vocals, smooth, soothing and sassy is his style. The live version in Las Vegas (1997) shows off his talent. 💕🎼 "Fanny "(be tender with my love) is another throwback to enjoy. 🎶❣
Robin singing and he said himself that it is a very spiritual song open to interpretation. He also said that he based it on when you've said something so bad that it's hard to come back. Family men and good men. Please try Fanny be tender with my love...official clip if possible but album version's great too.
Robin are twins who are both gone. Robin sang in a beautiful vibrato. You would appreciate it more if you saw Robin sing in with the video. You can see the emotions on Robin’s face. Robin had a beautiful voice that put his heart on the outside.
I read that when he died, his son put this song on his phone and laid it on his fathers chest. :( This song has always made me cry and now , knowing that, I'm bawling.
Great reaction. Robin was 19 when he sang/wrote this so perhaps it might not be as deep as many of us surmise. Here's another great Bee Gees song, another Robin Gibb lead vocal. Just beautiful, Dont Fall in Love With Me ruclips.net/video/Xni1xm4JZl8/видео.html
Crazy Reactions - Everyone who knew Robin said he was mentally far more mature and philosophical than either of his brothers and at a very young age. For example, he wrote "I am the World" as a young teen. @@Zlata1313 - Hi. I don't really agree with the assumption by Crazy Reactions that this was not a deep song. I think it was very telling of his personality and insecurities.
Good point. Just surmising. I have no personal insight just remember an interview with Barry Gibb once when he commented that he would defy anyone to explain to him what it meant (paraphrasing here)
I don't know if you are still interested in reacting to the Bee Gees but Maurice has three really awesome live performances one on The Midnight Special "Lay it on Me" like a country pop song from the Oct. 12, 1973, in 1997 he sang "Closer Than Close" live in Las Vegas, and then in 2001 one of his last live performances before his death he sang "Man in the Middle". He was definitely a fantastic singer that I so wished had of had more solos. Please check these out. Love you show.
This is Robin singing the lead just to let you know when the Bee Gees first started out Robin sang the lead on everything and then eventually it started moving over towards Barry once they found out Barry had this awesome falsetto up in the high register that changed to Bee Gees forever but let there be no doubt Robin was a great lead singer and he is a great lead singer on any part of any song that he sings he's a great talent as a matter of fact the record companies broke the Bee Gees up for about a year or so there because they was trying to turn them all into a solo Acts and Robin bought into that and when he got out on his own he saw that he wasn't doing as well as they did as a group and finally they made amends and got back together again. The very first song that the Bee Gees did after they got back together again was one of my all-time favorites and great song to talk about the breakup and then getting back together again but the name of the song is How Can You Mend a Broken Heart. I hope you'll view that sometime and review it because I think you'll love it and I also love Al Green's version of How You Mend a Broken Heart it's a cover for him to be g's created it but Al Green does a very good rendition of that song himself as you can tell I'm also a Big Al Green fan and if you like R&B you got to check out my my couple favorites The Temptations and The Stylistics they're both very good.
Love Robin’s voice so so soooo much. Could you please react to : Rings around the moon, Robin was the lead singer. Very haunting beautiful voice. Thank you.
Robin had said that he was very spiritual. This was one of his favorite songs that they had written. Of course they wrote all their own music, and for other artists. They're gone too soon.

Hey Gibby. I wanted you to listen to a song, but as it's labelled contemp Christian I didn't know if appropriate to ask. Anyway ... if you would like, please pull up Tod Agnew "Grace Like Rain". Its great and I think you would very much like. If that flies, there's a couple more I think you'd love, too. Luv, in Him. 💓💜
The brothers Gibb were amazingly taleted. Robin, Mauriice, Barry and Andy. Sadly only Barry is still with us.They have a sister still wih us, Lesley, and the Force is strong with her. Not sure if she ever sang in public.

This song always got standing ovations when a Robin sang it in concert, in every decade.
Robin was a spiritual person, so not surprised to hear it in his music.

Sorry didn't get to the live streaming. Slept off over here in Europe
Also besides "Fanny" (be tender with my love) I would like to see you react to "Our Love"(don't throw it all away)
