    * After reviewing the video I noticed I mentioned that " Although Agnetha Fältskog (lead singer) is with her friends she is happy." Upon deeper look she still remains sad, even when her friends (group) are happy. This shows that even if there are some happy moments the winner does in-fact take it all even in those "happy" times. There are so many interpretations to this song, the list goes on. She may have some small victories, well at least leaving behind what she lost.
Dereck Reacts back again with another video! ABBA Winner Takes It All Official Video! Please see my above interpretation, along with additional ones in the video. As mentioned this video completes the song for me visually. Looking forward to the next ABBA video!

The song never get's old because It's "Life" and as long as life goes on, so will this song. Agnetha is a goddess, she own's this, many have performed this song but nobody will ever get close to Agnetha.

How Agnetha kept her composure during the recording and filming of this song is testament to the beautiful artist she is as well as the other members of the group. You have to remember that she had been through a divorce and to have been able to get through this performance would have been extremely raw and emotional for her including the other members of the group. No matter how many times you hear this it never gets old. The lyrics and music are just as relevent and meaningful today as they were back when this was released. ABBA have a universal appeal that continues to outdo many of today's performers. Their music has the unique ability to make you feel overwhelmed with joy and sadness at the same time. They are the soundtrack to both past generations who were fortunate enough to witness their humble beginnings as well as a whole group of younger generations who are just beginning to experience the absolute pure joy and happiness their music brings. And like a fine wine they just keep getting better with age. Long may they reign!

It's no documentary though. Björn wrote it in an slightly intoxicated state. He said himself it was fiction, although inspired by his own as well as Agnetha's experiences and feelings. He sang it himself first, in the studio, but soon realized Agnetha probably would do it better.

@@herrbonk3635 and by the time they were aleady separated for 1,5 years.. so it was not that fresh as one might think... though it for sure brought up feelings.... Björn, who wrote the lyrics was already in a happy relationship with his soon to be wife Lena, still married after almost 40 years... so the alcohol whirled something up in him putting those lyrics into Agetha's mouth... which makes it maybe not a documentary but very intimate with a twist. Everyone has and had the impression - even from the very outside - that Björn and Benny dealt - for obvious reasons - much better with their respective divorces. But obviously Björn had enough empathy - at least with the help of alcohol - to maybe put down in words what Agnetha must have felt like at least to a certain degree... that's my interpretation of how those lyrics came about why they are so real, yet not strictly documentary to him.....

ABBA is considered to be one of the largest in music history with over 400 million records sold and is one of the few artists to have succeeded across all the continents of the earth. In the mid-1970s, they were the most successful pop group in the world in all categories. Abba has almost 70 singles as lists all over the world and over 60 albums. In the UK they had 19 straight top 10 singles, 10 singles and nine albums as no. 1 on the British top list of which eight are in succession (1975, -76, -77, -78, -79, -80, -81, -82). In 2014, the group had sold 400 million records and is thus Sweden's most successful music export of all time,

Roger - ABBA did not have a UK No.1 Album in 1975. They had 2 UK No.1 Albums in 1979. They were 'Voulez-Vous' and 'Greatest Hits Vol.2'. They had 9 UK No.1 Singles - not 10. Perhaps you are counting 'One Of Us'? That reached No.3 in the 'Official' UK Charts. It was a January 1982 No.1, (1 Week), in the 'New Musical Express' Chart, but that Chart was a rival, to the 'Official' Charts, and was not regarded as 'Official'. ABBA also had an 11th No.1 Single, in that Chart, when 'Chiquitita' was a 1 Week No.1, in 1979. But that was a No.2 Hit, in the 'Official' Chart, which was used by the BBC, TV Shows and UK Chart Books...

They didn't want to song to be only about how well her vocal gymnastics are conveyed in the song. They didn't want it to just sound like some soaring showy broadway tune.

Watching Derek Reacting to this vid made me click in, for the 1st time, to something. After the B & W photos we see Agnetha's face as the vocals start but it is only AFTER the 1st line that we see the visuals catch up to the the vocals. "I don't want to talk"....We see that and THEN we see her sing. Like the words are being forced out of her against her will. Compare this to the last verse, after we have been carried along by the story, when this line is repeated and we actually see her sing the words "I don't want to talk"...as if, once she has begun to tell her story, she MUST finish no matter what the cost. Such a simple device, brilliantly portrayed on screen by Agnetha to her sublime vocal. A modern classic.

Yeah, Dancing Queen was great, but what about ALL the others? Even the B-sides were so good, They should've been chart toppers. They used varied types of vocals and instrumentation. They layered them and the way the women sang together was so unique as they blended so well. The instrumentation, everything from synths, strings, brass and percussion all layered together wonderfully! They could pull off pop, light rock, classical and dance uncommon among other artists. I would keep track of the top 40 and sadly see them at the end or near middle. It took Mamma Mia stage to finally recognize their brilliance.

They became famous in Ausrailia before they were ever famous anywhere and before they knew they were famous. They went to Australia and the mobs were at the airport. Security had to take over the roadways to get them safely to their hotel. They had put out a couple singles but they just boomed over there. They are from Sweden. When All Is Said And Done was written by Benny when he and Frida divorced and finally One Of Us, was about both break ups. These are amongst the best songs written by the boys., From the heart and from heartbreak

the only ABBA song i remember vividly listening to on the radio for the very first time back in summer 1980. It was played on BFBS, British Forces Radio over here in Germany. They ususally played knew music a few days before they were on regular German radio stations... I can still feel the goosebumps already at the first listen... it was so shoklingly deep and emotional after all their 1979 light hearted pop output.... the radio dj said afterwards: "how dare they. We knew they could bring us joy and happiness, but now they even make us cry"

When she’s asked she always says this is her favourite it’s said she cried when Bjorn gave her the lyrics. One of the best break up songs ever …. Period her voice has such emotion she is as many have said a music goddess

The lead singer has a gift of being able to tell a story through music and its very real. Very few singers can do it. Faltskog is brilliant.

Simply incredible this song is historic and absolutely sounds as fresh as it did back then magical

The amazing thing about this beautiful, emotive song is that you can cry your heart out and dance, while hearing it. The first impression is it is the drumbeats and up beat feel. It is danceable. But, when you hear the lyrics and her tone and intonation, it shoots straight to the heart. What a remarkable classic song. I never get tired of it. And Benny and Bjorn's pristine, layered production still shimmers with Frida's and Agnetha's impeccable harmonies and vocals. Agnetha stole the show here, with her best-ever vocal performance.

The lyric" spectators of the show always laying low" rings so true when infidelity creeps into a marriage because you are the last one to know it's happening. That's my experience anyway.

I love this song, but two moments from the video really resonate , at least for me: the 4 of them at the table, but while the others are happy and laughing, Agnetha is withdrawn and pushes her plate away. The other is later when Frida, Benny, and Bjorn are walking together, but Agnetha isn’t with them.

The video shows that the song was
Agnetha leads alone from begining to end
and the others members in chorus by other way
      a Masterpiece!

I can see by watching you ,watching them, that you have the very same attraction to Agnetha, over and beyond the great group and great song. She certainly was a stunning lady. How could any man let her go !!!!! This song cuts me every time and can never grow old. In my opinion, they were and still are the best. Their music will play forever around the world as long as there's a way for it to be so .

I would like to suggest some hidden gems by ABBa that very few seems to know about, therefore also, you wont find reactions on,which makes them even more interesting to see reactions on...songs like Man in the Middle, Watch Out, What about Livingstone, The Piper, King kong Song, Hey Hey Helen... Excellent really good songs that never got the acclaim and recognition they deserved.
