ABBA is a Swedish group that basically took over the world in the 1970s. The name is made up of the first initials of the four members - Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny, and Anna-Frid. (Agnetha is the blonde woman, Anna-Frid is the brunette.) If you love this, you'll go nuts for "Fernando", "Chiquitata", "Take a Chance On Me", "Dancing Queen", "I Have a Dream", "Super Trouper", and "When All Is Said and Done". Their harmonies were unrivaled. You might be interested to know that they reunited after 39 YEARS in 2021 to make a new album, and it's terrirfic. BTW - "My heart" (or "mi corazon" in Swedish is "Mitt hjärta" (pronounced like meet YEH-ta).

The singer Agnetha, was married to the guitar player Bjorn. They had a painful divorce and he wrote this song for her to sing, while he went off with another woman. Must have been so difficult for her to sing this, a painful, beautiful song.

Just a fun fact in ABBA both women were married to both men, apparently Bjorn (song writer) wrote this song for Agnetha (blonde one) to sing and it was recorded the same year they got divorced

So nice to see you for first time
and with reaction to ABBA songs for first time too
"The winner takes it all" (1980)
is one of the Best Songs by ABBA
and the Most sad and emotional too
The best lyrics by the guitarist Björn and the greatest performing with the amazing Interpretation of one of their lead singer, the blonde Agnetha Fältskog and her soprano voice
The lyrics is a fiction about a divorce,
it is not about Their real life, although it is obviously influenced by Their own experiences and the realization of the legal divorce between Agnetha & Björn in the middle of 1980, even though They were no longer a couple or lived together more than a year and half ago, at the end of 1978
"The winner takes it all" return ABBA to the Top of the charts, gives ABBA their eighth #1 in UK after almost two years and half Also was the fourth and last Top10 to ABBA in U.S (pick at #8 in 1981) and #1 in US Adult Contemporary too
    "The winner takes it all"
was voted the Best ABBA song by the British fans, and is the favourite ABBA song to the blonde singer Agnetha
and now in the new Voyage concerts at London the encore song is... "The winner takes it all"
for a next reaction, my suggestion is to
"Super Trouper" (1980), the following single and in the same album
I see you in another reaction to ABBA songs
    My best wishes from
    Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷

ABBA were a pop group from Sweden that became superstars in the 70's and early 80's... they came together in the early 70's when 2 musicians from the 60's scene, Bjorn and Benny became friends and started writing songs together... Bjorn married a blonde Swedish pop star named Agnetha ("ann -yet - ah") and Benny got engaged to a brunette Norwegian singer Anni-Frid (Frida)... and the 2 couples decided to form a pop group singing in English and debuted in 1973 in Sweden w/ the 'Ring ring' album, followed by 'Waterloo' (1974)... The name ABBA took the initials of each member's first name... In 1974, ABBA won the Eurovision contest and an international contract.
ABBA debuted internationally w/ the self-titled album in 1975 and in 1976, they scored a huge hit single 'Dancing queen' from the album 'Arrival'... they were touring the world as superstars by 1977 and filmed a movie ('ABBA - the movie') as well as 'ABBA - the album'... Agnetha and Anni-Frid were singing most of the group's hits, and Bjorn also sang occasionally...
However, the pressure of recording and touring began effecting the couples' relationships... Benny and Frida married in 1978, but Agnetha and Bjorn split up that year... ABBA returned to tour in 1979 for the 'Voulez-vous' album, which turned out to be their last tour.
There was a lot of sadness and regret on the 1980 album 'Super trouper'... Bjorn's split w/ Agnetha inspired the lyrics to 'The winner takes it all'... even though Agnetha sang it. That year, Benny and Frida divorced... both Bjorn and Benny remarried soon after. ABBA's 1981 album 'The Visitors' would mark the end of the group's reign as their popularity declined in the 80's... the songs were darker... and the 2 former couples found it difficult to work together anymore. By 1983, both Agnetha and Frida went off on solo projects and ABBA disappeared. Both Agnetha and Frida stopped singing in the 80's, but ABBA's popularity grew in their absence, selling millions of copies in the 90's. Their music inspired the musical 'Mama Mia!' which also became a movie.
In 2021, ABBA announced that the 4 members had recorded a new album 'Voyage' after 40 years apart... they claimed it would be their last record.

Man that is so awesome that you are a keyboard player. I was raised taking piano lessons from an early age and then got into trumpet for school, and I've played guitar and bass and sang in bands pretty much my whole life. All based on that original exposure to the piano. I still play it every day, it helps keep me sane. I like to just make stuff up and try new things, but sometimes I will play things that I already know just to have fun playing them.

These is ABBA, the iconic Swedish pop quartet, the best, most versatile and most important of the 70s, in the post BEATLES decade (the revolutionary group of the 60s)
ABBA, as in its time BEATLES, was a musical and cultural phenomenon, and its legacy lives on
ABBA is an acronim with the initials of their first names; initialy was two swedish couples too:
A- Agnetha (blonde lead vocal) &
    B- Björn (guitarist and songwriter)
B- Benny (pianist and songwriter) &
A- Anni Frid 'Frida' (brunette lead vocal)
(both couples separated before the breakup of the group in 1982)
ABBA recording between 1972/1982, have a wonderful series of more than 20 worldwide hits, included nine #1 in UK:
    Waterloo
    Mamma Mia
    Fernando
    Dancing Queen
    Knowing me knowing you
    The name of the game
    Take a chance on me
    The winner takes it all
    Super trouper
    and another worldwide hits like
S.O.S., Money money money, Chiquitita, etc
And after more than 35 years ABBA return to studio in 2017 and recording a full new album "Voyage" between 2017/2021 released in November 2021 and is a worldwide succes
(with four nominations to Grammys awards 2023, two for the album and two for one of their comeback songs)
And in last May 2022 all four ABBA members asist to the premiere of the new Voyage concerts (with avatars of Theirself) in the new ABBA Arena at London UK (another greatest success,, with tickets on sale to November 2023)
The ages of all ABBA members now is
    72 Agnetha Fältskog ; 76 Benny Andersson
77 Björn Ulvaeus & Anni Frid (Frida) Lyngstad
ABBA begin to be famous in 1974, when They won the Eurovision Song Contest in UK with their iconic song "Waterloo"

More heartbreaking - well check in S.O.S., Knowing Me, Knowing You or One Of Us - all outstanding! Chiquitita and Fernando two other superhits in a calmer beat. But I think the upbeat songs like for exemple Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, Dancing Queen or Take A Chance On Me gives me dancemood. All of the songs are related to life. You also have got some gems like The Name Of The Game or Our Last Summer.

S.O.S is my favorite. It is literally the first vinyl that I ever bought at a yard sale across the street for a penny in fourth grade and it was all scratched up and I played it a lot. Along with the other one that I bought there, which was Yellow Submarine by the Beatles. Both of those songs were on the radio constantly at that time and they're both beautiful songs.
Edit to add: SOS also has an iconic keyboard riff in it which pretty much makes the song. Although I also love how it rocks out at the end with heavy distorted guitar. But it's definitely totally a pop song that is sad but extremely catchy.
