8:30 If you want a bit more texture to the stones, as if they are weather worn and not used for a long time, you can use an old military modelers' trick, which is to toss finely sifted dirt into the air, then hold your piece at arm's length placing the dust cloud between the piece and your spray can while giving short strokes through the dust. Holding the can 18 inches from the piece is pretty much the desired distance for this technique.

A substitute for the resin curbs you can use foam board from posters and cut them in large strips and then texture them with a aluminum foil or a texture roller and then making cuts or using a pencil make sections any distance apart to create individual sections of curb without having to cut them and glue each one.

Gianna silver effects pattern number 35380, looks like it's mainly through UK vendors. Not sure how expensive it would be to get shipped over to the us. there are some other textures and colored versions of this sort of thing that could be a viable under layer for dirt and other terrain, not sure how well static grasses and flock would adhere. and haven't found a texture that looks like it would work well for a miniature wood grain yet either. but you got me thinking anyway.

Anyone in the USA have a source for a wallpaper that is similar? I have been searching various places and have not found any. Love this idea. I am going to do a 4'x4' table for Frostgrave using this method but will try adding some melted snow and snow piles. I have never figured out how to do slushy snow with lots of foot prints and walked on areas like you see in real life in the city after a storm and when it is warm enough for things to kinda melt. I also recently picked up Reality's Edge: Cyberpunk Skirmish Rules and was trying to figure out how to make a dystopian play area. This has given me some inspiration to use roofing tiles or tar paper backing for roof tiles for the roads and then use foam squares for sidewalk sections. Just have to figure out what I will do for buildings. I have seen some railroad scenery sticky paper that looks like bricks. May give that a try. The resin curbs look awesome just afraid of what it would cost to purchase the mold and make the curbs. Thanks for the video, great ideas this has given me. very much appreciated!
