It really stuck with me ever since I was a toddler watching my dad play all the way through to being an adult. After hearing such a haunting tune so often when I was so small, it was a bit of a letdown to play it myself decades later and never hear it once because of how laughably easy the game is.

OMFG I just realized that Evan (the Zora bandleader from Majora's Mask who plays the keys) is playing the Game Over theme from the first game when you enter his room.
Zelda 2's death sound is the one I think a lot of us are very familiar with considering how damn hard that game is besides the possibility of an epileptic seizure that goes along with it. Seriously, it's still the only Zelda game I've yet to finish to this day.
@maxthewicked100 Yes, I am aware that FS is available on dsiware/3ds, but I couldn't find a good sound recorder to record the game over theme. All of the themes in my video are ripped from the games.
Heh, my first was Pokemon Yellow, but then came Link's Awakening. And god, was that game hard for me. But it hooked me, and thus I wanted all the Zelda games. I don't regret my decision. It was worth all the frustration and rage..Such a great series.
I'm already found the game over music of Four Swords GBA/Adventures on RUclips! I'm going to update the video "All Legenda of Zelda Game Over themes 1986-2011".
I vividly remember half of these. My favorite one has to be Twilight Princess, but Oot hold a special place since it was my first zelda game so it was expected that I would hear it often. In contrast I don't remember Wind Waker death music at all despite it being the game I played the most.
I just researched this up cuz someone told me that the gameover theme from the original loz is being played by evan in Majora's mask and I wondering if they were right and they were. Evan also played a couple of other songs I think.
I'm currently Playing Link to the Past and Link Between Worlds. And I own Oot and MM as well as the original game, well a remake of it for the gameboy.
OoT and Majoras mask. Most depleting melodies of all of them... Just makes you feel like ya done fucked up big time. I liked spirit tracks, never heard it before
Love how AoL differs from the others. Everywhere else: sweet music. AoL: Ganon laughing at you. That game is such a bitch. A lovely one, but still a bitch.
I remember first playing Twilight Princess when I was around 7, and at first I just went “aw man I’m dead :((“ but now (16) it for some reason makes me genuinely dreadful whenever I hear it
I think Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (1:33) had the best Game Over music. The Wind Waker's was alright, but the ones from the 2D Zelda games were generally jokes, in my opinion, especially the first few. (Though Zelda II's "Return of Ganon" version wasn't so bad. It doesn't mock the player, and doesn't have some underwhelming melody like the other early Game Over screens had. In fact, Ganon's laugh was kinda funny.)
Prism Wind Whoa, wait… Did they seriously reuse the Ending music for the Game Over screen? I wouldn't know; I couldn't finish the game. (My Heart Containers keep running out before I finish a dungeon.)
I love how LoZ 2's game over theme is so blunt with that evil laugh of Ganon at the end.
I love that game
tbh I think it's pretty awesome that they managed to get that sound out of an NES
It kinda sounds like Bald Bull’s laugh
RETURN OF GANON

Wait... you can die in Skyward Sword?
It's pretty much considered an easter egg
Of course you can,we all forget about having low wiimote batteries sometimes
@@DarkEcho32 "Communication with the Wii Remote has been interrupted."
Well no shit
It's a lot harder of a game than you make it sound...
I love the Twilight Princess one just because it’s so over-dramatic.
all the other zelda games its just: try again?
while TP sounds like youve failed the entire kingdom by dying
Me too I kinda like Twilight Princess' game over too!
It really stuck with me ever since I was a toddler watching my dad play all the way through to being an adult. After hearing such a haunting tune so often when I was so small, it was a bit of a letdown to play it myself decades later and never hear it once because of how laughably easy the game is.
Breathe Of The Wild 2 trailer brought me here. Wow, very cool.
SAME LMAOSOS
wow nintendo very creative name
Mine Faoa me know
Idk if anyone realised yet, but Minish Cap's Game Over Theme is basically a remixed version of A Link To The Past's Opening Theme.
+xdxdxd2012 Yup. Sure is. C:
I love this beat I just like it when Zelda games remake the other Zelda music's and make them good
xdxdxd2012
I don't think I hear it, would you mind explaining?
Yeah same, even at my young age.
When I first died in Wind Waker, I was young, and I saw Link stagger and fall, I burst out crying.
its just a game
Kerry Hytry Did you not fucking see me say "I was young"? I was 6 years old and guilty. Get out.
Commander Buttwipe same thing happened to me when i was playing jak 2 and sig fell into the pit with that giant wormlike metalhead. it shocked me enough that i cried though in the end sig lived and i was relieved
Not me when I first saw to him like that was like no and now I'm like well shit I died
EpicLiamPaul I felt sympathy for link I was just pissed
Heard those first two so many times when I was a wee kid, they're forever burned into my memory.

How many links had to die to make this vid?
A lot
All of them
*No Links were harmed in the making of this video
😂😂😂
I think 16 or 18.
I hate dying in these games. We all love Link amd seeing those death animations are heart-wrenching.
I know right.
Don't play pikmin
Except for botw with ragdoll physics lol
Pikmin 101 The game that made you feel guilty for losing any of them
I remember being slightly scared of the death animations as a kid. xD
I wish I could hear epicly sad music after death
Me too
Maybe you will
Damn tp was just a dark game... It was also dark as in, I can't see crap
yeah that's what I don't like about that game & why I haven't finished
Max Hellen thats y its rated for teens bcs its too dark fo children to play
I'm so glad you said this lol. This is how I felt about the Original OoT game. I could never see anything

I just realized that today while playing Majoras Mask lol
Whoa...you think there's a deeper message there? o.o
Emberilliance Maybe this stands for them already knowing that they will die because the moon crashes down...
My favorite top 5 would be
Ocarina of Time / Majora's Mask
A Link To The Past
Wind Waker
Twilight Princess
Phantom Glass
I personaly like the game over from the first game.
1:40 best. Had my kids play from the originals to current. They loved them all. Gamers gaming ♡
I remember, I jumped like, 30 times off a cliff just to listen to the beautiful Game Over music from "Phantom Hourglass".
You sir, are a monster.
@@TStudiosInc
NO, NOT THAT GAME!
YOU PURPOSEFULLY DIED?!!!
Who still gets goosebumps when they hear the fairy fountain theme?
the oracle games' gameover theme is my favorite, close second is the minish cap's.
The very beginning sounds like the start of Pokemon battle music.
Spirit Tracks sounds sad to me. ;_;
Links Awakening Game Over Sound ist really beautiful
A Link Between Worlds has the same game over theme from NES Zelda 1! :D
EarthboundBenjy Really? I hear more of an OOT remix when I get the a link between the worlds gamer over.
Randy Howell
It's both, actually. The OOT Game Over plays when Link actually dies, then the Zelda 1 Game Over plays afterwards.
I know I'm 7 years late. But the sprit track game over starts off sounding like the beginning of Majora's mask in the lost woods
I heard the firs one in majoras mask when Evan is playing the piano
Zelda 2's death sound is the one I think a lot of us are very familiar with considering how damn hard that game is besides the possibility of an epileptic seizure that goes along with it. Seriously, it's still the only Zelda game I've yet to finish to this day.
No Links were harmed in production of this video. - Ganondorf, player
OMG i love the Twilight Princess (Gamecube/Wii, 2006) one
I can only find a collection of the music, but never the animations itself. What the heck!?
Play Zelda 2’s game over song in 0,5x speed.. and listen to the new song in BOTW 2
Isn't kinda weird that the original Legend of Zelda game over theme is almost the same as the ending theme?
It signifies that when link dies it's the end of his adventures
Osseous Rex that's cause it is.

My fav is the ALTTP one. I always been fond of the Great Fairy theme.
R.I.P. Phantom Hourglass. May you rest in the special spot in my heart.😭😭😭

Breathe of the Wild 2 anyone?
Came in to check a claim that the song was a game over theme, don't see many resemblance, but I guess it is indeed
@@is_bolo_e_cha hear it VERY CLOSE that guy wasn't wrong
Well it's In reverse, but it has to be one of these themes
The first one sounds very close, I think if you reverse it or maybe skip a note here and there you’ll get it
@@jose13neo it's the 1st one I think, it's not reversed exactly, they played each note in reverse but in the same order
Wow,there are some beautiful Game Over musics in the Zelda games.
At 00:00 when Link is falling, I expect Gary Oak to come.
When do I hear the themes? Is it when Link has all of his Heart Containers depleted?

True, but I'm too lazy to update it LOL. Besides, there's plenty of Nintendo compilation videos out there. But hey, I can make a new one.
XD
All of them are all either sad or ominous,
but then skyward swords is just more like,"Ya blew it."
man, the original game over tune is so beautiful, despite usually being associated with rage xD
I was about to say you missed a link between worlds and breath of the wild, but i realized this was uploaded in 2012
I've never heard these themes before, 'cause I'm just *that* awesome!
OMG
The Legend of Zelda and Link's Awakening are my favorites.
Who’s here because of Breath of the Wild 2?
Just saw the reversed version of the trailer, finally another creepy zelda game😈

Oot game over theme+(ironically) Wind waker game over theme+ Midna's lament=Twilight princess game over theme
The game over theme from Minish Cap is part of the Song of Healing. Seriously, go look it up.
It's also a part of the beginning song from a Link to the Past.

Twilight Princess and Phantom Hourglass are the ones that actually made me cry from sadness
For me the best one is the first
The first Game Over theme is the theme of my town in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
i think twilight princess is the best one
you cant find any for FS and FSA because they weren't played much
Fsa and FS didn't have one if i'm correct.
The Game Over Minish Cap theme is from A Link to the Past intro...
tp is sad 😢

Love how AoL differs from the others. Everywhere else: sweet music. AoL: Ganon laughing at you. That game is such a bitch. A lovely one, but still a bitch.

What is it with the handheld games having the best game over music?
1985 one is also in the 25th anniversary edition of four Swords (for DSi, not 3Ds! >:D)
I can't help but feel like the Minish Cap version was in Kirby Dream Land 3 as the intro music.

you missed the part in a link to the past where he spins and falls over before the music plays, you did it for Zelda 1
He also missed the part in Link's Awakening where he spins and falls over before the music plays.
I think Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (1:33) had the best Game Over music.
