    Had this song stuck in my head all day, it made me think of the underlying, indifferent, constant erosion that is time, and how all events around me, all egotistical struggles, petty grievances and social judgments that seemed so momentous at the time would fade to dust one day, a small part of a large cycle that it is unaware of. It makes me feel at peace to know that we are all equalized by time's unwavering march.

    I always think of the Aral Sea when I hear either this or the Sand Sea theme. The Aral Sea is a lot like a real-world version of Lanayru-- it's now a desert, but not 60 years ago it was a great sea, alive with fish and sailors. Abandoned fishing canneries and ghost ships, now homes to wild camels and tumbleweeds, still sit decaying and forgotten in the now-barren desert as unsettling reminders of what once was.

    I believe Nintendo had in mind an epic soundtrack helps us cope with the barren wastelands we must travel through time again. Thus giving birth to ageless soundtracks for deserts was an essential part of keeping the audience focused on the goal and not fed up on the countless obstacles presented in their deserts and our very lengthy traveling of these places. The soundtracks for deserts have done us much help although we tend to overlook that.

    It was fun to explore and quest in, yet it still offered a challenge.
    One of the best memories I have of Lanayru Desert was me always yeeting myself off of the Sandship because my Wii remote froze or always flying the beetle thing into the dragon - I still do it to this day and it's just as fun now as it was back then.

    That opinion would be more appreciated if you gave reasons. My favourite Zelda game is SS because of the plot, the amazing soundtrack, the Lanayru culture (that includes the desertification and time reflexion), the dungeons, etc. In TP the dungeons felt so lonely and dark with the ambience, non-melodic music; but in SS the music is much livelier and more pleasant to hear. I enjoy going to the Thunder Dragon's place and play some Boss Rush to get a challenge and see if I can improve my records.

  • @adan2374
    @adan2374 11 лет назад +27

    This song really provides a melody that not only enhances the atmosphere of the desert but also resembles the emptiness of the province itself. I will admit fully that I found this part of Skyward Sword to be somewhat boring. However I still enjoyed the challenge of exploration roaming through Lanayru desert as well as the beautiful melody. My hat is once again off (as it always is) to the Japanese composers that are able to compose these songs and make them enhance the surroundings creating that sort of "magical" feel...

When the Captain said he was only there because of the stone, it really brought tears to my eyes. Well, it's cool battling Bokoblins and other creatures, but I always got lost and... a bit bored. However, Eldin volcano put up a challenge. It lacks subregions, though. By that I mean: Faron had the Sealed Grounds, the woods and the deep woods; and Lanayru had got the desert, the mine, the gorge and the fantastic sand sea. I'm in the sand sea now in Hero Mode, and I'm going to re-enjoy it so much!

    in my opinion this is my favorite world because of just how cool the time stones are, its also the most sad one to me, if you check some of the papers on the wall in the places to unlock the temple, it will say, "plants drying up, help keep lanayru green" meaning they new the place was becoming a desert, i wish there was a way to heal the place in the present, not just going to the past, maybe if nintendo makes a legend of zelda skyward sword 2 they could add that feature.

    • @MasterCakeX5
      @MasterCakeX5 2 года назад

      I doubt they would make it - Nintendo Zelda was always about vicious cycles that repeat themselves over and over again.. :/ The realization of the timeline somehow is that you cant stop evil, it will always return and you need to always fight for peace no matter what. Some kind of ying yang stuff I guess. And I guess this is applicable to the real world as well, we humans will always have that weird personality trait that tells us to do evil and harm when it suits us. The tragedy of this fact gets represented in these games very well, I think.

    Faron is my favorite region, then Lanayru, although I was totally expecting a water area when I first read that Lanayru would be the next area. What a surprise it was to find a desert. Then, it made sense by the fifth dungeon.

    @ACMilanW960i Fire Sanctuary had some cool features, but Earth Temple was great fun (though short; I would have liked it to be much longer). Nothing to do with Skyview, I don't like it as much as the other dungeons. But if I have to choose between Ancient Cistern and Skyview, I'd sure choose the latter. My most hated dungeon was exactly Koloktos's. I couldn't stand the music. Lanayru had the best dungeons IMO, with the mining facility being friggin' brilliant. The Sandship was very charming. =)

    I totally agree.
    The only downside of it was that you had to reset it for every menu you opened unless you had it pointed at the screen all the time. But at some points, like with flying or diving, I would have liked an option to just have you control link with the analog stick.

    Both titles have linear dungeons. The exceptions would be Snowpeak Ruins and Lakebed Temple in TP and the Sandship and Sky Keep in SS. Easiness, however, is subjective. It still stands that the enemies don't do as much damage in TP, which is a part of my preference.

    It’s obvious that somebody thinks that I’m pretty stupid on how music is made. Lmaooooo. I was only stating how this type of music helps me to focus a lot better because it’s instrumental instead of hearing singing. 🤔

      Video game music is composed the exact same way as any other type of music. The only reason some orchestrated pieces arent praised enough is because they dont have such a pretentious following of hipsters.

    Zelda and Nintendo games are always about the gameplay and the beautiful atmosphere,something every nintendo player knows about,wind waker had the same negative response at first ,but then Miyamoto said "the game is fun ,please don't judge it before trying it" ,and he was right,it was an amazing experience,im not trying to be judgmental here,but i honestly dont think you played it because you wanna play em all,but cuz deep inside,you knew it could turn out good,i could be wrong tho .

    I prefer SS to TP as well, for similar reasons, however I felt the dungeons got weaker towards the end of SS. I was also disappointed there was no final dungeon before Demise. An epic final level is a MUST before fighting the last boss!! That is one area TP was better than SS - it had a GREAT final level. I wasn't that into the WiI remote so I'm not sure that I prefer SS to Ocarina of Time or Wind Waker, but hey I love all the Zelda games. SS had the best individual scenes and music.

    Although, considering this is a fandom, which can sometimes get over reactive sometimes (happens to all fandoms), it would probably be better to say "I preferred Tp over SS". You're opinion is fine, that's just a recommendation of wording.

  • @JHandcock1111
    @JHandcock1111 12 лет назад

    I feel that TP and SS arn't comparable games, because they're both designed so differently. You could complain about the combats and movements and dungeons, but they're from two different levels of control-- and that may be what people set they're preferance on, but you can't compare it.

  • @Posby95
    @Posby95  12 лет назад

    I'm not sure if the price has gone down, but you do need wii motion plus to play this game. So I guess you'll have to save a bit of your money for a while. If the limited edition of the game still existed, you could get the golden Wii Remote Plus and solve the problem...

    I prefer Skyward Sword over Twilight Princess because TP was way too easy, and in Skyward Sword, enemies actually do damage (taking away a heart or more, not that 1/4 or 1/2 a heart crap; double on hero mode). Also, I enjoyed the concentration of the temples. In TP, they used large and expansive temples, whereas in SS, the temples were small and concentrated but took just as long. It's just a personal preference really. The music was good in both games.

  • @robokill387
    @robokill387 12 лет назад

    really? because the motion plus combat was well designed, and it lead to some really creative boss battles.
