After knowing this now I'm 100% sure Araki got recongized by a fan (like Jodio when he met rohan) during his research in Hawaii, with said fan having a similar reaction to Jodio and goshing all over Araki's manga and even the jojo anime, after all his face is just too iconic in the fandom at this point, it makes sense that would've happened eventually.
Fan: Omg, you're Hirohiko Araki!!! I am such a big Jojo fan!!!

That Hawaii trip shows Araki's artistic philosophy, which was laid out in Part 4 by Kishibe Rohan: "Reality is the energy that breathes life into a piece of work, and reality itself is entertainment."

I knew for a fact araki came here cuz I see SO many details about Hawaii in the art that locals recognize
Im from Hawaii and I love the hawaiian vibe Araki is bringing with this part so far. I have a theory about the lava rock and the thing they were fighting last chapter. So in Hawaii its bad luck to take random lava rocks because they might be cursed or attached to a spirit. What if the thing Paco was fighting is a spirit or just trying to return to rock to its original home. Also in Hawaii there are these called aumakua its like a guardian spirit and in a way stands are guardian spirits. Cant wait to see what else Araki cooks up in part 9

Araki's curiosity (and how he implemented it in Rohan's character) really has an influence in the way I see the world around me now. I don't write any story but I draw, and I want to make more illustrations with interesting backgrounds, more landscapes and buildings... Seeing him taking pictures of everythings, even the seemingly less interesting elements, make me want to go outside more and take hundreds of pictures.
It also connects me more to the city I live in, I want to know its secrets, I want to see the variety of people outside and visit every little shop to feel different kinds of atmospheres. The man has changed the way I see the outside world, damn
Araki's limitless physical strength and walking in the sun is the proof that he is the ULTIMATE LIFE FORM!!
Really cool that Araki goes to places in person to research about the culture, environment and life of the people in those places, it definetly makes the stories that he writes more colourful and vibrant in nature.
Plus, it makes the storytelling far more enjoyable as well if the authors take their time doing their research without affecting the story.

I used to hate on jojo because of the art style, but when I watched some of the anime I became a jojo fan.
When it was first announced that Jojolands was being set in Hawaii I was wondering how he got his information and references. I didn't know that he physically went there. I had thought that he had somehow used Google Maps as a reference and I was lining up background buildings but they never turned out exactly right. I didn't realize he was referencing pictures he took himself.
And uh, 1:20 That's not an overpass. One of the points of discussion between me and my friends was whether Araki realized what that was. And even knowing that he went there physically makes me still wonder if he realize that was an elevated rail track.
Amazing video! Really happy that araki is doing what he loves most and that we get amazing stories out of it! His self insert moments with Rohan are some of my favorites
