REO has toured basically every year since 1970. They can play better in their sleep than most bands play today. Even while they are in their 60's. They're still young compared to the Rolling Stones. It's awesome that they are still doing what they love. In the 1990's some people made fun of bands like REO, referring to them as "dinosaurs of rock", 20+ years later they are still rocking. They kept going and they inspired a lot of other bands.
THIS BAND IS FANTASTIC!!!!! How they manage to keep up the high quality of their vocals and musicianship is beyond me. I'm 63 and was a fan way back in the day and I'm telling you; these guys do NOT disappoint! Vince Neil and Jon Bon Jovi, take note - THIS is how you do it!!!😮😍🤩🤗
I reluctantly saw them at a concert around 2002. I only went because the Tubes were playing. I was amazed how good REO was live. They were playing for enjoyment! They owned the crowd! Amazing live band! Good for them!
I just caught this on this morning with the high def tv and surround sound and couldn't believe how amazing they sounded. Went into an instant journey into my childhood and loved it!
There seems to be people who do not realize these guys are iconic and they are getting up in the year to keep a band together as long as they have and still playing songs in the same fashion as they did back in the day. Sure the voice s have changed they look different and still trying to maintain a image consistent with 2000's generation of people. You can not expect them to bust out the same tunes at same tempo and keys as back in the day. They are human and have put a huge effort into what they do. I feel its very unfair to post comments that they look sound or are not in any way what they used to be. They are rock stars and something you and I may never do. Sure they get up and live a life just like you and me they shit they shave they love they hate....little less hate is a better way to live since these guys may not be here much longer so I say enjoy them while you can.
Nice comment, I agree... I'm going to see them October 6, 2018 and I can't wait. They are playing with Sammy Hargar. Sammy even says Red till I'm dead. He knows he can't do a full 2 hours at almost 71 but I love seeing him still out there for the fans and the love of the music.....
Perfectly said! Esp the part about where these guys get up each day and continue to live out their dreams. Something many people never dared to start. Or something like that.
Check out the dude tearing up the guitar! Gary Richrath would have been proud. ❤️🙏 RIP Gary, you were truly one of a kind. Nobody will ever replace you, but this new guy isnt bad at all.
I am 26, and my husband and I are going to see them on Saturday with my parents. I am so excited!! I grew up listening to these guys, they still can rock!
Just seen REO last night and they sounded great!! Kevin C is 72 years old and he sounds like he did 30 years ago !! REO was a soundtrack to my childhood!!❤
Dave is an excellent guitarist, and he's got a great voice. I wonder how much crap from fans he's had to deal with for replacing Gary, even though it was by NO means his "fault." I met him at a Hilton in Albuquerque, and he could NOT have been nicer...
I saw them with Styx also by fat Styx blew them away Reo sucks next to Styx their only great album was Hi Infidelity 1980 and the follow up album on 1982 with Can't fight this feeling song but playing wise Hi Infidelity was their best the rest of their albums mostly suck and singer Kevin Cronin is a woosey!!!
Just listened to these guys a few days ago. Never cared for them early on. But I swear they are sounding better with every year, a rare band that I like now more than before...
Thank`s to my sister I got to know REO Speedwagon. Many years I only knew their studio albums. Their sings performed life are even mor powerful and adorable!
Kevin is a much better singer now than he was 25 years ago. Much more control and his phrasing is dead on target. This is just good music, well performed by this entire band.
COME ON GUYS this video is from 2010 ,REO has been playin since the 70's ,theres some not mean but harsh comments .how do ya think your gonna do @ your job afta 30+yrs? Keep it Goin REO ! Sounds good to me happy as fuk ya still playin ! you'll always be welcome @ House of Blues in Boston !!!
Fucking legend! My son is 13 and him and all his friends have mullets and only listen to 80s rock, they are obsessed with the 80s and that gives me hope!!!!!!! Speed wagon for life
I saw them in 2019 before this crazy pandemic hit. I honestly got the tix from my dad because he was moving out of state and could no longer use them. I took my niece and she left before intermission (UGH!!) but it was amazing and these guys are so good live!! What a great show!!
New wave pummeled my appreciation for them at the time but now indulge in them nightly though I was worried they were from Canada or something! Relieved to find they are from 100 miles from where I grew up. Shit! This video elucidates they're in highest echelon and cared enough to keep on pleasing not like drag ass jagger or worse grunge who can't and never could on stage anyway, but I was on the ground in seattle since nobody caught me when I jumped. Point is I regret being a geek in high school and didn't have huevos to appreciate these scholar athlete fellows
I've seen Reo twice in concert, one being a free riverfront thing that goes on every year in Detroit. That said, they still played like it was a full out concert people payed $100 for tickets for. Kevin and the band are great!
the thing i see and hear is there is a whole generation of people who leave stupid comments because there's something they don't know about IT'S CALLED TALENT.it's not their fault they haven't lived thru the 60's to now like i have.i'm in my 60's and lucky enough to have seen most of the best many times Live! and i know better than to judge anyone IT'S ALL MUSIC IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT SHUT THE FUCK UP AND WATCH SOMETHING ELSE
Regarding Auto-Tune: It can be used in a live performance, though it's typically more obvious and I don't hear any of those indicators here. Nevertheless, even though it was a live concert, it was likely still recorded as a multi-track and mastered after the fact at which time Auto-Tune could have been employed. IMO whomever did the mastering did an excellent job, with perhaps some conservative and judicious use of Auto-Tune. Yeah, Kevin's voice isn't what it used to be, but all things considered I think this video sounds great. Keep on rollin'!
I have. That's why I quit listening to REO 22 years ago. Just looked up their videos to see which song I should add to my 1 Man Show since I've been getting requests for REO lately...
So you figure that you've got him all figured out He's a sweet talkin' stud Who can melt a girl's heart with his pout He's the kind of lover that the ladies dream about Oh, yes he is He's got plenty of cash He's got plenty of friends He drives women wild Then he drives off in a Mercedes-Benz He's got a long wick with a flame at both ends He's hot But don't let him go Just give him a chance to grow Take it easy, take it slow And don't let him go Don't let him go He makes you so angry He makes you so sore The wait may be worth it But how can you wait any more? When you're wonderin what you're waitin' for Baby I don't know But don't let him go Just give him a chance to grow Take it easy, take it slow And don't let him go Don't let him go
The only original member is Neal Doughty on keyboards. Terry Lutrell (sp?) was their first singer. Kevin came on for the 2nd album, was fired before the third, then came back for the R.E.O. ("Cow") record and stayed. Bruce Hall (bass) came on board for the Tuna Fish album. Dave Amato replaced Gary Richrath (the GREAT Gary Richrath) after Gary got kicked out in '89. Brian Hitt (drums) came on board after original drummer Alan Gratzer left, and after Alan's replacement, Graham Lear left.
I do a solo act, too. For REO songs, I do the '85 acoustic version of "Roll With the Changes" (which is here on YT); Gary's "Son of a Poor Man," "Keep the Fire Burning," and Gary's "Take it on the Run." Plus, I've been working up the acoustic version of Gary's "Riding the Storm Out" that the current lineup worked up for XM Radio (also here on YT). Take care & good luck...

I just caught this on this morning with the high def tv and surround sound and couldn't believe how amazing they sounded. Went into an instant journey into my childhood and loved it!
You can tell by the look in their eyes that they still love going out and performing. REO definitely stood out and they rocked.
There seems to be people who do not realize these guys are iconic and they are getting up in the year to keep a band together as long as they have and still playing songs in the same fashion as they did back in the day. Tom Warren Could not have said it any better!! Well done!! People have to realize they've been touring near 40 years!!
You need to send me a friend request on Facebook. REO is the best band ever! Send it Yamariz Fromm
Amen brother. These guys are iconic. They re older but he who isn't. They can still rock a song and that's sayin alot 40 fricken years later!!
He still never plays roll with the changes right.
No he plays it better! Dave Amato honours Gary’s parts but after 27 plus years of playing them you’d have your prints on them to!
Dave Amato is such a killer player! These guys sound better and better every year!
Keep on Rockin REO!!!!
Love that they open shows with this song!
They opened in Toledo, Ohio with this song and got the crowd hopped up for the rest of the show.
Three Years Ago and they are still filling stadiums with loyal followers. REO is one of the All Time Greats! REO Thank's for the Memories!
This was a great concert, I went all three days of moondance in 2010 and I think REO did the best of everyone.
MAN 30 years later and still kicking ass. LOVE REO
Saw these guys live at The Huntington Beach Party. They are INCREDIBLE.
One of the greatest live bands! Love this song, especially the drums!
Dave is an excellent guitarist, and he's got a great voice. I wonder how much crap from fans he's had to deal with for replacing Gary, even though it was by NO means his "fault." I met him at a Hilton in Albuquerque, and he could NOT have been nicer...
Raising my hand ....Dave has been mopping up on original guitarists "sloppy seconds" starting with Nugent ..."David , clean up on asile 5"
1 of the best keyboard solo's ever! Historical album!
I totally agree. I saw REO in concert in late April 2013 and they rock as good now as 20 years ago and play with the same enthusiasm!!
Nice I'm 14 and have seen them twice along with Styx and Ted Nugent. They rock don't they??!!!
Now you're 21. I'll drink with ya on that! :)

Thank`s to my sister I got to know REO Speedwagon. Many years I only knew their studio albums. Their sings performed life are even mor powerful and adorable!
Kevin is a much better singer now than he was 25 years ago. Much more control and his phrasing is dead on target. This is just good music, well performed by this entire band.
beefmelt I agree I like this version with the more pronounced drums a lot more than the studio recording
Saw them in 2016 at Molson Amphitheater, they were awesome!!! ;-)
Legend
Seen them several times dating back to the early 80's. For 50 years plus touring it doesn't get much better. IMO one of there best live concerts

Great live version! A little slower version but Kevin Cronin sounds great still!

REO Still ROCKS!!!
I've seen Reo twice in concert, one being a free riverfront thing that goes on every year in Detroit. That said, they still played like it was a full out concert people payed $100 for tickets for. Kevin and the band are great!
They got paid. .trust me
Damm a good start :-)
I actually love this more than the studio version!!! AMAZING!!!!
Sorry for my post, hope you didn't think I was picking on you...
You kidding? It is so watered down, it lost it's bite.
They don't make music and band like this any more!
Great Song! I love the album name "High Infidelity" & picture on the front with the old high fidelity record player. Good play on words and image.

buen tema
Sounds like Kevin mailed this one in!
So you figure that you've got him all figured out
He's a sweet talkin' stud
Who can melt a girl's heart with his pout
He's the kind of lover that the ladies dream about
Oh, yes he is
He's got plenty of cash
He's got plenty of friends
He drives women wild
Then he drives off in a Mercedes-Benz
He's got a long wick with a flame at both ends
He's hot
But don't let him go
Just give him a chance to grow
Take it easy, take it slow
And don't let him go
Don't let him go
He makes you so angry
He makes you so sore
The wait may be worth it
But how can you wait any more?
When you're wonderin what you're waitin' for
Baby I don't know
But don't let him go
Just give him a chance to grow
Take it easy, take it slow
And don't let him go
Don't let him go
Kevin Cronin is the nicest guy in R+R!
There Still doing it people ! What did you do ! Today ! Rock ON ! BOYS !

Bring back Gary!
As a physician. I have to ask...what is Kevin Cronin's code status? "Don't let him go?" Great performance!
Pure, raw power replaced by Geritol
A walking brainless wonder who spends his days trolling RUclips. Such a sad pathetic existence.
Let's see you get up there on stage and try to do what these guys smartass!!
A rock band that formed in the 1960s...need I say more?
we say them in bettendorf at the dinamite lounge in 1970 small loud bar
2022’ anyone here with me
When will the Rock & Roll HOF get their act together? REO has theirs together since the 70’s. Wake up HOF!!!
I do a solo act, too. For REO songs, I do the '85 acoustic version of "Roll With the Changes" (which is here on YT); Gary's "Son of a Poor Man," "Keep the Fire Burning," and Gary's "Take it on the Run."
