Dave's music is cathartic, such as his solos in Hanger 18, Holy Wars, and his riff before his Five Magics' solo.
I don't intend to disparage Kiko but he sounds too disciplined. Notice the way Dave goes awry at 3:12 and 3:27 in Dystopia song's official music video.
Marty's fusion makes him better than many other lead guitarists.
Healthy competition is essential. In fact, rivalry gave us 2 of the big 4!

When I heard "Rust in peace" for the first time it was really mind blowing but... to be honest Dystopia is by far my favorite Megadeth album and those solos were so good. Can't wait to hear the new album!!!

Kiko is a guy that could be at a family party, being humble, and asking everyone how their doing. Then you get home and realize who you just hung out with for 3 hours.

People who compare guitarists like that are usually not players or guitar noobs.
Guitar snobs, much like the super deep underground metalheads who have to categorize every band as some obscure sub genre and if anyone other than 3 people have heard of them then they say they sold out.

Kiko - you are an inspiration as a human being AND as a musician. I have personally fallen into the "music = competition" trap many times. It truly is a delusion that can ruin your self-confidence and stunt your growth in music and in life. What I enjoy most about Kiko's live interpretations of Friedman and Poland's guitar solos is the fact that he always hits the "crucial notes" of the solos, but always injects a few spontaneous "where the frick did THAT come from?" licks. But above all is the fact that Kiko always looks like he's having the time of his life on stage. It is that kind of positive energy that some young kid in his room is absorbing on some RUclips clip at this moment and saying "WOW! Maybe I can do that!"
Kiko is an amazing musician and a great person, you can't help but love this guy.
All in all, no need to compare different nuances - apple to oranges. Kiko is a certain style and it's amazing.

Completely agree with you Kiko. Not a competition at all. Music is vibration of your soul. Different souls have different vibration frequencies that is why we have different preferences in styles and players. All are perfectly accettabile and equally valid.

I've been to a Masterclass from Kiko in São Paulo in 2006. It was cold in the morning, my hands were really cold. I remember Kiko came, said "good morning" to everyone, plugged the Guitar in a Meteoro amp and started to play exactly in the way you listen in the records. For real, this guy is a monster.
I´m preety sure I was in the same Masterclass... it was on the Sousa Lima, where he was using a Deus Le Voult shirt ?

Kiko has always been an inspiration for Brazilian musicians. I believe that everyone from my time would have liked to see Kiko Loureiro participating in a G3. Only those who have heard all of Kiko's discography know the greatness of this musician.
In fact, nobody is better than anyone, but in terms of paying attention to the fans, there is no guitarist of this greatness in the world who does it better.
The positivity is infectious! Absolute class act Kiko, I'm so excited for the album (even more now) :).

My favourite Megadeth song is Peace Sells; but it's not the best. I just like it the most.
@@emartinezr If your a musician whos job depends on selling tickets and albums, Then it does matter. It's their livelihood.
Music is art, and art is subjective. Like an artist, it is important to have originality, whilst of course all artists are influenced and have studied great masters. It isn't a competition, art isn't a sport. An imitator of someone else, be that in painting or music is never as good as the master. Take Hendrix for instance, not technically the greatest guitarist, but revered for his originality. Then of course people copy him and what do people say? He sounds like Hendrix. One of the most difficult things in music is to create your own voice from your influences. Marty has his own voice and Kiko has his own voice. One isn't better than the other. A person can prefer one over the other, the same way someone can prefer a Rembrandt over a Van Gogh, but that is purely subjective. That is the beauty of art and the beauty of music. Its beauty and appeal is in the eye/ear of the beholder.

Kiko is probably the nicest and most talented modern musician out there. Can play nearly anything and part of one of the biggest metal bands in the world, but still makes time for his fans. Cant wait to hear what he comes up with on his new album! Thanks, Kiko.

Chris Poland, Marty Friedman and Kiko Loureiro: all three hold a special place in my heart. Most people will always make it about who's better and who isn't. I really love that you made a video upon it, a question which people intentionally ignore. Kiko is one of the very few guitarists at such a high level who are close to their audience.

Kiko Loureiro is a humble human being, so what he is as a simple person is what makes him an excellent and unique guitar player and musician. Thats my favorite thing about Kiko ! He is humble as hell. The fact that he is up there with the big boys never changed his personality and that is rare in a person who gets to that point.
