I... am shocked that Hoyo would go aftr Choc to sponsor. was this to be expected?
you can combine saphire topaz or ruby with a spear to make a makeshift elemental rod
CHICKENS! Also, you pronounce it uu-an.
"I wish I had a mirror shield"
You see, there's this thing called "Fuse"
You see, there's this thing called "critical thinking"
Also the zonai drop them
They’re called frickin constructs for god’s sake
@@oogablop I've seen Soldier Constructs, Captain Constructs and Steward Constructs, Maker Constructs and Flux Constructs, but never Frickin Constructs.
Oh im sorry I didn’t know that words are a crime
I love seeing everyone’s reactions to THE HANDS.
Great enemy design honestly.
I run every time😅
@@retnuh3144 Thats good considering the mini boss you fight after.
What if they resided within a Guardian?
@@barrenwanderers5655 OH HELL NO
@@barrenwanderers5655Honestly? I would LOVE if they have a NG+ where those gloom hands show up in the depths, because that would be TERRIFYING
Gloom hands are honestly one of the most terrifying creatures I have ever encountered in a Zelda game lmao
Edit: But then again redeads exist
And the funny thing is, we’re not going to look back and think how easy they are like guardians
Good so it's not just me
It's up there with the first time I encountered redeads in wind waker
@@rockinggamerdudeI mean they are easy assuming you have a bunch of bomb and fire arrows
I panickily took a picture of them, turns out [WATER MAN] was in it and it's now ever-existing within my compendium of spears.
I affectionately refer to them as The Hands of Gloom.
"They're burning up from the light, are they gamers?"
I didn't expect that burn to hit so hard.
yes, thats what outside is like
Choc trying to fight gloom silver Bokoblins with 6 hearts is very entertaining
They're actually not hard if you're creative. Use muddlebuds and have them hit each other, then take out the straggler. I went instantly for the Sheikah armor since it was my favorite in BOTW and world sneak kill them after.
He's called all the secret stones the titular "tears of the kingdom" yet he hasn't actually gotten any of the tears yet
Tbh if I hadn’t stumbled across the impa quest I also would have called them the titular tears.
Honestly I don’t even know what they’re actually called, ‘secret stones’ is never capitalized, so it’s apparently just a description of what they are, not their name. Are they ever called anything other than a secret stone?
@@aedaniammx7559 I don't think so, I'm pretty sure they're always referred to as "secret stones"
I still think, these are the tears of the kingdom. The impa quest is just about Zelda time tears.
@@porky1118 No, they're dragon tears, so it refers to the Zonai, a vanished kingdom. Quite literally tears of the kingdom.
Since the Gibdo Bones break so easily, you should attach them to arrows.
Yeah that’s there best use in my opinion
That's what I did for some... Particular boss.
No you should use the ancient dagger/ancient arrow
Frag rounds
@@Notion13 then what are you gonna use the Gibdo bones for lol
Fun fact: The shrines are lightroots are all connected so that one wasn’t a coincidence. Really helpful for finding shrine locations with lightroots or vice versa
The light roots are the shrines on the ground not in the sky though.
I found more Lightroots than Shrines.
@@thesergalladaf6902 Well you can use those lightroots to find shrine locations
@@wet0wl yes. That’s what I marked.
When I saw gerudo town in ruin. I almost cried. Because in breath of the wild, gerudo town was the perfect place for supplies, the music was comforting, the spa gave a great buff. Then I saw the destruction. It hurt
I can confirm. The way you get the Master Sword is, in fact, really cool.
Got it myself just yesterday. Really cool indeed.
*sad
You mean sad.
Yeah it kinda spoiled a lot of the story for me I haven't even beaten 2 temples yet
@@remyjaime743 Yeah it’s best to get it after getting all the dragon tears
I got it after all of the geoglyphs. By far my favorite Master Sword cutscene. I took a couple screenshots that are now backgrounds lol
"It's rather unsafe to depart by yourself" - Some old guy in a cave
The most charming aspect of Botw and TotK HAVE to be the ragdolls, like in one of Choc's deaths, all the Bokos were getting flung about.
It's just so thrilling to see how they react to every impact, just hilarious and also impactful on how your attacks are executed!
Shoot one of those purple flowers to the bokoblin and top of battle talus and watch them go flying
I also love how your companions can ragdoll too. Tulin got absolutely walloped by the flux construct on the way up to the wind temple and it had me rolling for minutes 🤣🤣🤣
@@TheDarkPeasant They can also get eaten by Like Likes and Frox, and it's always hilarious.
Ragdoll. K.
Love how different this game is for every person because I actually had an over abundance of arrows while playing this game, I had 350 arrows at one point without buying a single arrow
After finishing the floating colosseum, i realized that i had over 220 arrows from like 60.
Same. If you actually break open boxes and barrels they basically always drop arrows. Wasn’t really paying a ton of attention and realized I had like 380. After a couple hours shooting brightbloom seeds around exploring the depths I was right back down to like 45 though… :)
@@DankElm Just throw them instead of fusing them with arrows.
@@easymodegamer501 oh I throw them too I just had so many resources I didn’t care. Multi shot bow and spam means EVERYTHING is lit on the way to the roots lol
4:15 Every shrine (not in the sky) has a light root counterpart, so it can help you find light roots or shrines
also the names of the lightroot are the names of the shrines above them but spelt backward which is cool
I found more LightRoots than Shrines. I can tell it’s helpful.
@@thesergalladaf6902 the light roots definitely seem easier to find than the shrines, since they stick out like a sore thumb in the darkness. I'm currently trying to find all the shrines without looking at a guide, and comparing the light roots on the depths with the surface map has definitely helped me find quite a few (since I didn't know how to get Robbie to go to the tech lab, and as a result went through about 80% of the game without the shrine sensor).
For the final queen gibdo fight if you run out of arrows you can use a mirror shield with the light after destroying the hives or just throw the mayerials instead of fusing them to arrows
If you beat the fire temple before, you can also use Yunobo’s power, I think Sidon also works, but I’m not sure.
Any element works too, so sapphires, jellies, and element fruits all calcify the gibdos
34:44 The mirror shield works on the queen too
Huh, I never saw that cutscene where you sneak into the shelter. I just found Riju by chance on my own and missed it. Really cool to see things other people encounter in this game.
You really missed out on being creeped the fudge out by an abandoned Gerardo town.
I found it differently than him. I found a young Vai in the town outside the shelter, and while she fled she led me to another entrance in the old classroom that was used in BotW for the "Voe and You" class.
I found it differently than you or choc, I went through the bottom
I went through the well than ascended thru the ceiling
And thats what I love about totk, every one here had a different experience
23:18 It's pretty impressive that Link can just down 6 whole watermelons in under 5 seconds.
You can make a mirror sheild by fuseing a mirror to your own.
SHHH
You can?
Yeah, not very useful though
@@wet0wl But it's a very fun nostalgic equipment
@@wet0wl it can be used to kill the gibdos
4:40 "god i wish i had some arrows though"
reminder that you can just throw lightbuds rather than attaching them to arrows and wasting them (unless you have a long range bow and want to target way further than you can throw)
The Gerudo always seem to have my favorite locations. In BotW I still vividly remember Vah Naboris’s puzzles and especially the Thunderblight fight that was pretty tough. Now we got TotK and Queen Gibdo is such a tough yet fun boss while the temple itself is my favorite of the four.
I love how he does the whole dungeon without even starting the explanation of the dungeon
Choctopus, you woke me up. I clicked this video after a tiring day of school and testing and didn't realize it was on a super high volume from yesterday ( I won't tell you why), so "ALRIGHT SO I HAVE SOME AMIIBO" got blasted into my eardrums. Thank you though, I would have fallen asleep.
where you sleeping like your pfp at the time?
Bruh I had tests too. My brain hurts
Same
I’m surprised how hard arrows are to come by for some people. For me, after the first dungeon I never found myself dipping below the 150 mark.
In BotW I always struggled to get arrows, but in this game I had like 600 by the time I beat the game. Maybe has something to do with how many alternative options you have, like fusing, building, and straight-up throwing items, and whether you make use of them or default to BotW’s reliance on arrows?
A lot of them are just inside boxes, which some people might not think to break for one reason or another. Some people over rely on them in combat, other people miss how you can just chuck bombs and light seeds, which waste arrows.
The game is generous with arrows, but thick with opportunity to use them. Bad aim and impatience is enough to make it seem like there's none.
@@aedaniammx7559 That could be possible, and arrows also just seem to be extremely plentiful, or at least just more than BotW. just kill some camps in the depths and not only do enemies drop them, but there are tons of crates with them too
@@QwixLF I rely on arrows to fight, I go from 100 arrows to 0 in less than an hour
People are struggling with arrows? I had 300 arrows for ages.
Thank Hylia you don't need to cross-dress in order to enter Gerudo Town in here!
I realized I could just use an element (usually with an arrow) to get the queen gibdo weakened then follow up with Riju so I wasn’t waiting for her to recharge for the second shot
Ugh good call didn’t think to do this
"A little fire never hurt anybo- You know what? That's an incorrect statement."
"AAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!" I freaking died XD
not only is the lightroot underneath the shrine, but its is also the shrine name backwards.
Not all of them are mirrored, but they are all jumbled up one way or another
@@Angry_Jetpack no they are all underneath a shrine and there names are all backwards. It's like a lowrule
Talks about mirror shield, has a mirror attached to his shield, sees pillars of light sees gibdos dont like light "i wonder if there's a way to do this without arrows"
9:42 Wow, you found a different way to get there. I used the caves from the wells in the city.
Same
after the previous video, i went hunting for that tunic and ever since have turned link into a fashionista because i love love its style
do i have clothes with better defense and effects?
yes
do i get bodied if i make a mistake in combat with high tier enemies?
also yes
is link styling?
the most important yes
You know you can throw the bright blooms from your hand and you don’t have to waste arrows right?
Thanks I didn’t know that would work
I knew you can just throw them.
The creepy thing to me about lightroots is their name directly mirrors that of the shrines
It’s not mirrored every time, but it IS jumbled
Not jumbled, backwards
The entire underground is also a rough mirror to the overworld too.
@@sinteleonMountains on the surface are canyons in the depths and vice versa
Most lakes, rivers, oceans, etc are places you can’t traverse in the depths
I always freak out when the hands appear.
The creepy music, the sky turning red, the fact that they're faster than you so running just makes me freak out even more that there's something chasing me.
And honestly, I don't know how to beat them lmao
I don't know if this will be helpful now, but I think I remember someone saying to use either brightbloom seeds or bomb flowers.
Don't fuse Gibdo bones to weapons. They break as soon as they hit something.
For clarity, the bone breaks, but the weapon itself doesn't; it just loses the extra attack power.
The ocd kicking in when choc doesn’t sort his inventory
4:37 Fighting black and silver bokoblins with low tier weapons. Of course you're going to get wrecked. 🤣
“Is there a way to do this without arrows?” Currently running around a room with four pillars of light and a mirror strapped to his back. 😂 i did the same thing im just as smoothed brained
8:03 Lmao 😅 "Really satisfying to get a green dot because then you're like 'Oh, I'm swimming!' 🏊"
IDK about the masks that the ancient sages wear, but I know the Divine Beast masks are in this game, which is pretty similar.
You can't get them but if you wear the divine beast masks then your companion will wear the ancient zonai mask
What is interesting is that one mask in particular, I think the Goron one, actually says it IS the one worn by the ancient sage, even though it clearly isn't true.
@@theReincarnatenah you can get them, you just have to talk to the new sages after completing a dungeon and they give you a quest to find a divine beast helm
If you'd rather find this out on your own, do not click read more.
In the depths, especially under the lanayru area, you can find boss rematch arenas that give you fusable material for defeating them, and a chest on the first defeat. I myself have not found all of them, but I believe there are three of each dungeon boss. If you're curious, they do respawn after a blood moon, but blood moons only trigger on the surface for some reason.
I literally just found the Gerudo and Goron Bosses down there a couple hours before seeing this lol
I also got the master sword before doing the help quests, it lasts about 2 bosses before recharge is needed
34:43 Also reflecting light is much simpler.
2:54 undead moblin: "you are about to fast travel to your grave!"
“Where’s this one going earring maybe necklace… buttblug” “NO NO YOU CANNOT JOKE ABOUT THAT”
Haven’t seen the whole video yet but do Robbie’s quest in lookout landing as that’ll help with depth exploration if you haven’t
The Gibdos remind me so much of the Geonosians from Geonosis from star wars.
36:21 “Are we going to see the same picture of like sexy Ganondorf after every single fight?”
The reason Roku disappeared partway is because you entered an area she can’t physically reach.
Also, the defenses of the Gibdos and Queen Gibdo can be removed by any elemental weapon, or by reflecting light onto them with a Mirror
the confused “wh-what” at 2:07 is just way too funny for me for some reason
Personally, in the Gerudo desert, I got lost in the sand shroud, and I was wandering through some ruins, trying to find Gerudo town, when I just randomly walked into the ruins to the north and went into the Riju cutscene! I was so confused. Also the fast crawling Gibdo in the sand temple scared the FUCK out of me.
The blue ice gatorade you're talking about is probably Gatorade Frost Glacier Freeze. It's the best. Whenever I'm sick it is a comfort drink for me.
When I watched it too 9:20 two 9:24 those are called memories in your supposed to get tears from some part of the memory I hope you learn this already
The Chief Keef edit and the butt plug joke, “take the fried shrimp and let’s go” 😭😭😭
When Riju said Link, take my hand @37:04 😭😭🤣🤣🤣
Love this play through!
These videos are great. Keep up the fantastic work choc
Choc I won't do spoilers buy I will lead you in 3 directions to go that are great.
1 the pelican rito at lookout landing tower, talk to him for a great questline.
2 robbie and rodha have a great quest line.
3 go to new serene stable on the grassy plains towards rito village. Ie the stable by geoglyoh on the ground or the bright light crop circles. This quest line is a main quest and is lore heavy.
The rewards for all 3 are great.
Also take your time on this series. Not every episode needs to have tons of progression. Good luck and have fun.
These videos are hilarious!!!! Can't wait for you to finish!!!
31:26 Yeah you use the hover stones, but in this game if it works it works.
I recommend getting the Master Sword after getting the geoglyph/dragon tear memories.
I'll just go ahead and classify this one as "the nightmare fuel episode." Both the gloom spawn and gibdos shook me to the core first time i encountered them.
10:42 Honestly, considering what's coming later, stamina is much more important than hearts. Besides, you can upgrade your armor to mitigate damage.
Really enjoying watching other people play this game and seeing how they solve the puzzles. Keep it up! I absolutely love this series.
When you use a divine helmet vah naboris, riju will use the ancient vah naboris from the cutscene where you found riju's ancestors
15:53 "So little clothing..." 😂
Getting the ancient sages' masks is a yes, and no. Yes, you can get the helmets of the Divine Beasts that were Amiibo drops in Breath of the Wild, which are technically based around the ones the sages had, but you yourself won't be wearing their masks. If you go back and talk to the new sage of each area after doing their main quest, so Tulin for the Rito for example, you'll get a quest that gives you the helmet that correlates with them. They can be tricky, I had to look up guides for them to figure out where to go, especially on Riju's. Definitely worth it though, because if you're wearing the helmet for them, they'll be wearing the helmet their respective sage had.
OH MY GOD, the Neversoft eye reference unlocked some memories for me. I played Guitar Hero 3 as a kid and that part of the intro creeped me out back then way more than this entire game does now
The monsters inc scream sends me every time😂😂
37:03 Yeah, my humor is broken
Yo, I swear I usually only watch RUclips videos one time, but this guy is so funny I have watched these tears of the kingdom videos like over and over again😂😂😂
Thanks! Another episode on the way by probably Thursday.
They way Choc did this temple was the exact way I did the Wind temple 😂 31:59
That’s how I did part of the Water Temple
I’m glad to see your still posting 😁
You should throw the bright bloom seeds instead of wasting your arrows. To throw hold R and then hold up on the D pad and pick witch item to throw
You can use fuse for the mirror shield
I learned later on
That looks like a cool temple! I don't have weapons as powerful yet, except for the bows and i somehow just keep getting more arrows.
I hate just hearing mike wasoski screaming as they just go flying 5:32
You cant heal because you got hit by gloom, i cant heal because i came unprepared, we are not the same
Choc going backwards through the cave meant to lead you to riju from the underground gorudo is hilarious
10:45 happens
everyone knowing about a certain blade in this game:"Do we tell him?"
While watching TCNick3’s Mario party tournament, I was doing the puzzle at 12:10. I did the gerudo’s area last so it’s weird to see someone else there so early in the game. Also I did the rito section first as well.
More please I love the series ❤
He's going to need to learn the recipes to recover gloom and resist it
I learned about them from a friend after recording this episode. Going to try them out soon.
You do know you don’t need arrows to always use something, you can just throw it like “YEET”, well know you know so you don’t need to rely on arrows
This, especially for light. The game makes it sound like you need to shoot them and everyone wastes arrows en masse until they realize that.
How do you have all-silver enemies with five hearts?
They cranked up the scaling, compared to botw.
Most of my enemies are black or silver now.
The question, will he find a god damn memory?
The lack of arrows in his whole run is likely due to the fact that he doesn’t realize that he can throw 😂
I’ve had 500+ arrows my entire play through.
I feel like the devs were like "Yo, you see Fireboy and Watergirl the light temple? Let's do that."
Tip: how to get stronger first upgrade your armor using the fairy fountain second try fusing your weapons from the most strongest things from your inventory last face more enemys for higher attack stats for fusing
Runs out of arrows, uses his mirror to burn the gibdo..... And then doesn't think to use the light on the queen gibdo.
Love you choc but the brain definitely smoothed out there.
Quick tip to save arrows press R then up on D pad in order to throw a brightbloom saves many arrows
Im glad Choc is playing ToTK again :D
35:17 i saved arrows by using Yunobo, not that it mattered as i had 999 arrows by this point.
The FIght against the Lightning Temple can be done with few to no arrows. The Boss is also vulnerable to light, using a mirror shield can break its skin and stun the boss if I recall
Chocto, heres a tip you can throw by holding R and then dpad up and you can choose what you wanna throw
when you hold R to throw a weapon you can change to an item in your inventory with the upwards arrow tp throw the chosen item
Loving the play through! 6:05
I think you glitches the lightning temple, riju was supposed to be with you all throughout it
Also in the boss room, you can hurt it by shining light on it.
You cant find the masks that the sages wear, but you can find masks of the divine beasts. Depending on which one your wearing, that sage will be wearing the their ancestors mask.
4:17 choc discovers a major benefit to depths exploring, but doesn't realize it yet
NO THE WIND TEMPLE IS THE BEST ONE. Maybe not the dungeon itself but the music, buildup, and boss
"Oh Link you came" It's only been four seconds 💀
