I like that not everyone in PointCrow's chat is a degenerate. While most were calling Ganondorf hot, some brave chatters said "suavemente"
If you know, you know ;)
(or you've seen the original video. Either one lol)
@@BewbsOP context?
@@Sunny_Cherrim Suavamente is a video terminalmontage made of ganondorf dancing to a text to speech version of the song "suavamente." A few weeks before the game released, people were spreading a fake nsp of the game that just played the ganon suavamente video.
@@BewbsOP yeah, and some think he made that joke because the Gerudo Valley song already sounded quite close to the Flamenco music genre, therefore, a Spanish Ganon was born

First time I went into my Depths all i could think was "why is the upside down in my zelda game"
Genuinely an awesome area, I'm so happy they kept it a secret til the game came out
Welcome to the Underwhere.

I also like it’s pretty much like AlttP’s Dark World and ALBW’s Lorule where you can enter it anytime and find new locations in the Depths by entering a Chasm in a new location in the Surface
@@robraze weren’t both of those games just 1 of 1 copies of the same map in the dark world? In that case they would be completely different but I can’t even remember at this point I played those games so long ago
To find the tears on the glyphs easier, look for the "filled in" tear-drop shape on the glyph. This will always be where it is. (You prolly figured this out already, but hey, it's good to share w others that are struggling)
@@Real_pointcrow21spam bot
Also a tip that will help significantly: you can use the scope while falling/gliding now. You'll usually find a korok too somewhere on a geoglyph.
To add onto this, it's always gonna be on flat land. So for glyphs that are on a side of a cliff, you just have to search for the flatter areas!
Another tip: the actual tear is often put in a place you'd expect and not one of the ones at the side. For instance it's at the very tip of the master sword geoglyph.
Was this not told to you directly? Or did we just figure this out because the first one with granny (not spoiling name) was so obvious? I could have sworn we were told this.
That one cutscene with Ganondorf talking to Rauru and swearing fealty gives me so much Ocarina of Time energy, even down to the same outcome of Hyrule falling to Ganon’s power and malice.
He’s actually using the exact same pose bowing down as the one in ocarina of time. And I saw someone point out that the two women behind him are his parents koume and kotake from the same game. Although I don’t know if that’s actually the case I didn’t look much into it.
@@mt2r-musicthe sashes translate to "kotake" and "koume" and they have the same masks
It's been amazing delving into this world again. Everything feels new, the world and characters more connected, there's more personality and charm. This game has exceeded my expectations so far and to be honest, it's made me quite emotional at times. I haven't felt this sort of magic in a long time and I feel so grateful that I live in a time where we can experience the world that is Zelda.
I had the same feeling early into the game, but as you keep going it gets more boring doing the same shit you did 6 years ago, regardless the game is amazing, I don’t have as high standards as some, I try to just play and enjoy what’s given to me
@@myckull3820 Fair point, I can totally see that being an issue for some. I, however never found myself getting bored, even after six years and well over 1000 hours of playing BOTW. I used to play the game for hours, just riding around on my horse, exploring every nook and cranny and am still discovering new things all the time. I feel like the world in TOTK is different enough to keep me satisfied for another six years. But then again, I'm one of those weird people who can be happy just staring at the landscape of in the distance for hours. 🤣
@@Ellary_Rosewood I'm not getting bored per se, but I do keep getting disappointed. I would say over half of the content of the game is just reused from BotW and that really bothers me. Granted, I love the new abilities and weapons are way more personalized and enjoyable to gather and assemble, and I love the new story and especially the dungeons so far, but the overworld map is topographically identical and most of the enemies are the same, and that to me takes a big bite out of any excitement I may have had going into things.
For example: I already know that in the north of Hyrule between Death Mountain and the Hebra mountains lies the Lost Woods and the Deku Tree is in the middle of said Lost Woods. I can guarantee something will have *happened* to him and we'll have to do a quest involving it, but I already know *what's there.* Same thing with every other location. I already knew Kakariko Village would be where it is, and despite the fact that it has some new quests, it's still just the same place selling the same items. The Ring Ruins do change up the topography a decent amount I will admit. But Hateno village is the same (plus a school, which is neat), Goron City was the same, and Rito Village has been the same. Lurelin as well. There's different stuff to *do* in each of those places, but they're still there just the same as they were last time.
Now the real question is: is it enough to already know where you're going but to be surprised by what you're going to do there? For some people the answer will actually be yes, but for me it's a hard no. That is why The Depths is single-handedly saving this game for me, because it's an actual wild card that keeps throwing me for a loop.
Like take the Great Deku Tree: when playing BotW, I didn't even know he would be in the game. He hasn't been in a Zelda game since Wind Waker, so when I saw that I was hit with a blast of nostalgia. Now, for TotK, I already know he's gonna be there again, it'll just be a matter of what quest is he going to give us this time. That is infinitely less interesting to me than the surprise of finding out he even exists in the first place. Then you combine that with the fact that most of the enemies you fight are Bokoblins once again and the new enemies show up pretty rarely compared to them as well as the fact that most of the armor is identical to the last game AND the fact that the shrine/leveling system as well as Korok seeds are completely identical (I mean systemically, not content-wise) and what you get is that more than half of this game is completely the same. That feels REALLY bad to me personally.
I still can't wait to get back and keep playing, because the promise of finding something new is always calling me back, but in BotW *everything* was new. Any piece of armor was a brand new concept because LoZ never really had such an idea before, so finding different set pieces was always a new experience. In TotK, it's more like "Oooo a new armor p---oh, it's the Barbarian armor. Cool, that's pretty useful I guess...." and MOST things you find fall into the category of "oh, this again. Neat."
For a game about exploration and discovery, I find myself experiencing an awful lot of "Rediscovery", and I just find that to be an unacceptable game design philosophy and I think it's inherently unfun. Having to level my hearts and stamina again, having to collect Korok seeds to increase my inventory space again, like it's just not fun anymore because I already did those exact same things in the exact same ways in BotW. Like the fact that there was even a single Korok puzzle that was the same as in BotW was disappointing to me. Really? You came up with the backpack Korok idea, but you still decided to use a "stand in front of little windwheel and shoot balloon" for 50 of them? Like what's the point?
For any system they decided to keep from BotW I think they really needed to make at least 95% of the content brand new. I would even accept 80% if I had to, but 50%? Less, even? That's kind of ridiculous. Shrines are great, yes, because they utilize the totally different power set you have in this game, but even then I was really hoping they'd scrap the Shrine idea and take all those puzzles and put them into the dungeons and really beef them up. Even there the dungeons are just Divine Beasts again. Do a short run-up quest, open the dungeon, press 5 buttons, fight boss, get power. Don't even get me started on the Sky Islands though. Most of them are just a stray chest, a Flux Construct, and a Shrine. No visual distinction, and only like 1 or 2 groups of islands per tower. The marketing made it seem like they were like THE main draw of the new map, but in context they feel like an afterthought.
All in all, I think it's just that Elden Ring ruined open world games for me. It so far has the highest "novel content per square inch" ratio I've seen, and I think that's simply what makes an open world game good at this point. You can have *some* repetitive content in your game, but I think you really need to be able to hit a certain threshold. Like, for a given amount of play time, I should be going "woah, sick!" a certain number of times. When BotW came out, it set the new record and that's what I was used to. Then Ghost of Tsushima came out and it had an even higher ratio, so that became my new standard. Then Elden Ring came out and blew both of them out of the water. TotK is sitting somewhere between Elden Ring and Ghost of Tsushima, so essentially we've moved backwards in terms of my personal tolerance. Yes, I know that's a "me" problem, but Elden Ring was absolutely huge, and unfortunately developers are now going to have to deal with the ramifications of its impact. I know TotK was almost completely developed at that point, which is a shame, but it is what it is now. I think it's a brilliant game, 10/10, terrible as a Zelda game, very underwhelming as an openworld game. I think all three of those things can be true at the same time, and unfortunately it means that while I think it's 10/10 game, the experience itself ends up being more of a 7/10 for me.
@@Tohlemiach i actually read all of this and relate to it a lot. I love botw because it was so new to me, it was my first zelda game and after that I played pretty much every zelda game. I’m definitely dissapointed with the game, but that also doesn’t mean I’m not gonna play it for hours on end. Peace homie
I'm still very early in the game, but yes it's definitely doing an amazing job shoring up the areas where BOTW fell a little short. Don't get me wrong, BOTW is a good game, it's just not the 10/10 masterpiece everyone said. Shrines were too monotonous, it suffered from the lack of dungeons, the story was way too predictable, and while ambient music is not a bad thing, having the entire soundtrack be ambient hurt the game some. This one makes shrines both shorter and more interesting, korok seeds are even more interesting, the story is MUCH more interesting, and the soundtrack has some more orchestral stuff in addition to the overworld ambience.
as soon as i started playing totk, gerudo really stuck out to me. I absolutely love how they made the monster designs and it really does also make the game more creepy,

@@emm._. when 1 is left you have to kill it fast or it will regenerate the other ones. Killing them will give you some of the best weapons in the game before fusing as they can have a base stat of up to 50 as far as i have seen, however the weapons have a major drawback early on in the game or if you are in the depths because you will get gloomed up fast for using them. And using them as a attachment on the master sword it even makes the final boss looks like a cheese cake as long as you can get those dodge counters in
Saying this now phase 3 you actually start to lose heart containers if you get hit by projectiles so your ability to heal is gimped hard and eventually if you keep getting hit you will run out of hearts and no the projectiles don't actually hurt you so unless you can't dodge worth a shit you won't worry about dying to no hearts

Something REALLY COOL about the Depths:
A few days after I started playing, I noticed a connection between the lightroots in the depths and the shrines on the surface.
For every lightroot in the depths, there is a shrine in its exact location on the surface (not the sky) with the lightroot's name spelled backwards.
REALLY USEFUL for shrines.
On ripe of that I realized that the name of the shrines is the same as the name as the light root but backwards. Also where ever their is water in Hyrule, their is mountains in the depths. And viversa

Some interesting impressions from the german version of the game:
While I much prefer Yunobos english voice (the german one makes him sound like the biggest pipsqueak ever), the german localizers NAILED it with the names. Instead of "President Yunobo", they call him "Yunoboss". That one would've also made sense in english, unlike the following, which is "Yunobo HQ", which in german, they call "Yunobau" (a pun of "Yunobo" and "Bau" which is the german word describing the act of construction or sometimes the construction industry as a whole).
ADDON: To the voice, I gotta add - while in german, it sounds absolutely like a pipsqueak (like, it really is the same kind of voice, with the same intonation, that they would give a scared 10 year old in a cartoon), the VA still DOES a well job outside of that. It just really kinda destroys his "warrior"-image for me.
@@awakenedcrowl Japanese Yunobo sounds like a squeaky bastard too.

The creepy thing is that the 3 dragons,Farosh, dinraal, and the ice dragon, could have been zonai or Hylians that swallowed a secret stone.

Not only does the marbled rock covering Gohma resemble the cocoon-like structure that Calamity Ganon was in, but the fact that Calamity Ganon’s first physical form was also an arachnid-like creature makes it a even more clever reference to it.
In Zelda 1, you fight ganon in death mountain too
You said that Zelda wasn't able to use her light powers in botw because her time powers were amplified by the stone, she didn't even get the stone until the beginning of tears of the kingdom when it dropped from Rauru's hand. I like to believe Zelda's light powers come from her emotions because that's how they've been activated in the memories in botw, she just couldn't get a full grasp on it until later.

pointcrow: 'so we're gonna build a bridge'
So the mural showed Ganondorf stealing a tear/secret stone. And this cutscene shows him realizing their power and what they can do. And before this, we were given an explanation that someone can swallow a secret stone to become an immortal dragon at the cost of their self. I'm calling it now, there's no way Ganondorf doesn't swallow a stone in this story. In fact, him consuming a stone could explain in part why he keeps coming back, and why he's sometimes not himself, but a mindless monster king.
Regarding your question right at the end of the video, is Sonia not the goddess of time depicted in the statues? In botw I always assumed it was hylia and it may well have been confirmed to be and I didn't pay enough attention, but the statues do look a lot like Sonia and she has power over time so it'd make sense for her to be worshipped in a temple of time
