    That is really beautiful. I live in Japan and something as "simplistic" like that design is so functional it's off the esthetic charts here.

    Hey Rus, Dan here. Isn't it wonderful all the creative things we can make from limbs. I used to think only logs were worth using. You continually prove otherwise. Thank you for the video, I can soon start turning again after shoulder replacement surgery. Until next time.

    It's a lot like doodling with an eraser, ain't it? A glass tube insert would make it usable as a bud vase. Nicely turned! Thanks for sharing!

    Hey, even roots are fair game for a Turner. That's an interesting piece. I'm guessing IMPULSE BUY PRICE $25.00 - $35.00. However, with inflation what it is.....?

    Do you ever have problems with cracking as the wood dries? I made some birdhouse ornaments from branches and the roof edges cracked. Honestly they looked nicer after. Added some character. Just wondering if there is something you do to prevent that

      No not really. Like you said, sometimes it looks better. That happens with some of the vases I turn. If I'm turning something I don't want to crack I usually use wood that is dry.

      They range from 10 to 30 dollars depending on size. I don't do it for the money so my prices are probably low.

      Do you really not know what it is, or see the creativity in it? The problem is it's hard to find the right piece of wood to get the effect. So I can't make enough. This is one of my best seller's. I'm curious. What do you make?

    What are you using for a finish?

      Homemade friction polish. Shellac with a little finish oil mixed in.

    How do u know which piece of wood to use?

      I look for pieces that have protrusions or knots for the rim.

      Most of my stuff ranges between 5 to 25 dollars. I've only sold at local craft shows.

      @@_zhawkeye_9808 The shows I do range from 20 to 60 dollars. But some shows go higher than that.

    You can put a test tube or cigar tube in them.
