wood turning beautiful cherry (and fixing a crack)

Fixing a crack in beautiful cherry wood project. In this woodturning video I am using cherry wood with beautiful grain. But to finish the wood turning project I have to fix a crack in the wood. I decided to use color in the crack to accent the wood vase this will become. I sanded this wooden vase to 400 grit and finished it with my friction polish.

I.enjoy and learn frlm your videos but something you and a lot of others omit is the rpms your tutning at. It would be informative and helpful. Thanks for yout thoughts and ideas. Ed

@@EdRaastad-rj6mi My range of rpms is about 400 to 1200. When I drill holes and initially put on the finish it's at 400. When I'm using the tools and the final part of the finish it's at 1200. I also do the sanding around 400.

Cherry (and most of the fruit trees) are prone to cracking.. Nice way to get some use out of it..

I found this cherry already down for awhile so it didn't get sealed but it's to beautiful to throw out. I think I found a way to make use of it.

It's shellac denatured alcohol and boiled linseed oil.

If your talking about the smaller one it is thin CA glue. I used it to harden and seal the green powder in the crack.
