I really like that you didn’t fill in the burls and “imperfections” with epoxy. The gaps in the wood really added nice character to the finished piece.

If it were clear epoxy, that could be cool. Right now, I'm not exactly sure what he was trying to make, but with the epoxy, or resin, he could have a more complete appearance to the art.

I agree! The "imperfections" are where the pieces character lies ❤

I lived off-grid on the sea for 13 years, had own anchorage & a small rustic float camp 6 miles from Tofino BC. Yew wood around there was harvested for the coldest times since it burned like coal. Heard rumor of a registry for yew but never researched the largest specimen found. Found one more that 3 foot diameter & I harvested almost a dozen large (dead) branches the size of a man`s waist but left the massive live trunk & a couple live branches.

Wow! Andy this piece is simply amazing a great job! I liked the gouge cam angle a great deal, hardly any shake to the picture and was a smashing perspective. Youve instilled some ideas as all we woodturners can do is look at a lump of wood and think which way it will go. Your easy steady is also a great , been thinking about one myself. Thanks for your video! Cheers
