      Cliff, there are many wonderful companies. We like to recommend buying from companies that import directly from the distillers, that test every batch of oil with GC/MS, and that share the batch specific GC/MS reports with their customers. This ensures quality and demonstrates accountability. Here are a few we can recommend:
      - Aromatics International - www.aromatics.com
      - Essential Elements - www.essentialelementsstore.com
      - Florihana (Europe) - www.florihana.com/en

      You can read about GC/MS testing here: blog.aromahead.com/2009/12/04/essential-oil-industry-standards-aromatics-international-supports-gcms-testing
      Do you know about our free class? We can help you learn more about safe & effective blending with essential oils.
      Our Introduction to Essential Oils class is a popular class at Aromahead Institute - such a great place to begin to build a foundation of knowledge with essential oils and aromatherapy. It is a self-paced class that is online so you can learn at your own pace whenever you have time.

    • @aromatherapyoils
      @aromatherapyoils  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Cathy! Essential oil substitutions always depend on the issue at hand, the intention of the blend, the person’s age, health, preferences… and so many other factors! For this particular blend, you could substitute Spike Lavender with Rosemary ct. camphor (Rosmarinus officinalis ct camphor)
      One really great way to decide with confidence what oils work as good substitutions is to learn applied essential oil chemistry. We have a free webinar where Aromahead’s founder, Andrea Butje, will walk you through essential oil chemistry concepts that you can apply to any blends you’re making! When you have an in-depth knowledge of essential oils, including their chemical compositions and therapeutic properties, understanding which oils make good substitutions will come more easily to you! Shingles are so painful and we can understand wanting to find some relief. One of our blog posts shares this recipe:
      10 drops Melissa essential oil (Melissa officinalis)
      10 drops Sandalwood essential oil (Santalum album or Santalum paniculatum)
      1 oz (30 ml) Yarrow Hydrosol (Achillea millefolium)
      3.5 ml Solubol dispersant
      This can be mixed, shaken and spritized on to the area every couple of hours to help with pain. All of these ingredients can be found at Aromatics.com for your ease. Wishing you relief from the discomfort.

      @@145Jannah Spike Lavender (Lavandula latifolia) and Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) contain some different chemical components that differentiate how we might think about using each oil. The camphor and 1,8 cineole in Spike Lavender (Lavandula latifolia) contribute to its ability to increase circulation and relieve pain.
      For those qualities, Rosemary ct. camphor (Rosmarinus officinalis ct camphor) would be a closer substitute in place of the Spike Lavender. We would suggest 7 drops Rosemary ct. camphor (Rosmarinus officinalis ct camphor) .

    Whate is spike lavender

    • @aromatherapyoils
      @aromatherapyoils  6 лет назад +1

      Spike Lavender (Lavandula latifolia) is a wonderful essential oil that has a lot of similarities to Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) but it contains some different chemical components than Lavender which differentiates how we might think about using it. The camphor and 1,8 cineole in Spike Lavender (Lavandula latifolia) contribute to its ability to increase circulation and that helps to reduce pain. Here's a post from the Aromahead Blog that you may enjoy reading for more information: blog.aromahead.com/2016/04/18/lavender-spike-lavender-difference

    Is this safe to use during pregnancy?

    • @aromatherapyoils
      @aromatherapyoils  5 лет назад

      Hi g c! Thanks for your question! Essential oils should be used very cautiously during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. During these times, the Aromahead Approach is to keep your dilutions at low concentration. The "Chronic Shoulder Pain" blend is a 3% dilution, and we recommend 1% during pregnancy. We also advise pregnant women to use essential oils under the guidance of an Aromatherapist or medical professional knowledgeable about essential oils.
