It amazes me how many people how so many smart ass negative comments about these peoples work. I am American and I am amazed and in awe that they accomplish these tasks with very few tools. Kudos to them
And you'll be just as amazed when it leaks and eventually breaks again, there's plenty of reasons why we don't do stuff like this in the USA.

фигня вся эта сварка. шток, как правило, делают из 45ой стали, а она не просто плохо варится, она очень хреново варится. даже если принять во внимание что в данном случае они варят электродами с основным покрытием (нет любимого ими предварительного загиба электрода) то все равно нужен предварительный разогрев детали и после сварки нужен отпуск шва, чтобы снять внутренние напряжения.
Щас, ну давай материаловедение ещё тут вспомни.))) Совести нет)
@@Leonfillips вот как раз у меня совесть и есть, я уже попадал из-за подобной халтуры и повторно нет желания. поэтому и хочу предостеречь людей от подобных случаев. может кто-то и смотрит это для удовольствия, но многие учатся на этом, впрочем я тоже много почерпнул из подобных видео, но подобная халтура может подставить людей.
это можно сразу выбросить. Зеркало испоганили ,оператор машины будет дежурить с бочкой масла.

это просто жопа. Не знаю что там на счет ровно привареной проушины, но когда шток то на землю кинут, то по патрону прошкрябут, аж кровь из глаз чуть не пошла. А когда четверть вала брызгами заляпали, ну тут вообще большие молодцы. Теперь техника будет день работать, неделю на ремонте. Варвары просто.
Я вот тоже удивился когда он начал варить а зеркало штока даже не прикрыл, токарному тоже достается

Нет у них другого, вот так и выживают. Не рукавиц, не талей, не тележек, не спецодежды, не нормальных сварочных масок.
Наблюдается ещё небольшой недовес в черепной коробке... Такими варварскими методами - чермет изготавливать из того, что можно было починить.
They don't have a steady rest for the lathe, apparently. They blended in the turned surface with the chrome by angle grinding. I don't suppose they had much option (turning into the chrome would only tear it up) but that rod is going to leak hydraulic fluid from now on.
Love how they avoided the need for safe lifting by just dropping it on the worn out concrete floor!
All this begs the question - what on earth happened to the machine it is from, to cause it to shear like that? Did it fall down a ravine? Collide with a bridge at high speed?

these guys are using training their parents and grand parents got, when western companies still did manufacturing out there. sadly those jobs dried up, leaving only the tools & the trades, which get passed down , sometimes not to effectively.

What is gonna leak on it exactly? It’s a piston the bottom of the shaft is where the fluid pressure is not by the repaired eye. The end cap is nothing more then a dust seal, no pressure on it at all.

My goodness, just drop the polished ram on the ground, never mind the stone damage. It leaked anyway.
When all else fails, get out the grinder, don’t worry about the polished shaft, it already has stone damage and burn pits from welding.
Could I suggest you lovely guys wear striped aprons and put a little more sawdust on the floor, make the place look like a proper butcher’s shop.
Remember where this is. These are failed, useless countries so don’t think we’re making a work of art here. Keep your expectations low and you won’t be disappointed.

под кулачки прокладки положили, а поверхность штока хромированная, на него не сильно прилипает, я б накрыл все равно

Your going to tear seals in the cylinder because the ram will have welding spatter on it.You should cover the ram before any welding

What got Me was taking a nine inch grinder to the rod , they must have emery cloth or wet and dry paper to do the final clean up .....

Когда не знаешь сопромат, такой ремонт не вызывает кровавые слезы из глаз. Им и не нужно знать, какие там нагрузки, и свойства сварных швов. Тут главное металл к металлу, на остальное пофигу. У нас бы за такой ремонт под суд и условный срок. А если будут жмурики, то реальный срок.
Когда новый гидроцилиндр стоит как крыло от самолета, другого выбора и нет. Делают максимум от своих возможностей. В прочности потеряет конечно, но не более 30%. Работать будет
@@user-cw9eo7wh3j Все это можно делать не бросая шток на землю, посмотри на 3:50 как они его устанавливают. А процесс сварки? Даже самая глупая обезьяна может укрыть шток куском рваного брезента, но здесь это никого не беспокоит)))
Половина штока в брызгах от сварки , если этот ГЦ работает в паре его будет ломать постоянно .
Давление нагрузки будет не равномерное, Они же индусы у них все пучком.

У меня большие вопросов к сварке, насколько оно будет прочным, я хоть и не сварщик, но там же много видов швов по технологии, а они по сути варили обычным зигзагом.
Прочитал все клиенты, ребята, нас не очень много, которые реально понимают, что это поедет в утиль!!!!!😭😭😭😭😭

Это даже не смешно, шток с задирами по хрому, да ещё его при каждом удобном случае бросают на жесткое покрытие👎🏽

Я на шахте работаю и у нас в лаве поломало домкрат на подъем качалки комбайна JOY 4LS1A так же заваривали шток и так же шлифовали и как не странно в тяжелых условиях он отработал до покупки нового.
@@user-fn7fq1ui3k он и будет работать, вопрос только как долго проживут уплотнения на штоке и как часто придётся заливать масло. С учётом того, что это скорее всего от подъема стрелы экскаватора, нагрузки будут большими, соответственно ремонт на короткий срок.
Согласна с тем, как временная мера пойдёт

Never were long sleeves or loose clothing around spinning machinery. If they get snagged it will rip your arm off if your lucky or wrap your body around the work and kill you if your not.
They don't wear shoes with safety toes or eye protection except for welding. OSHA? Never heard of them.

Not a measuring tool in sight! I am sure they did the best they could, but that is not exactly precision work. They will have to replace gland seals quite often!

Kudos to them for improvising and adapting. There are multiple issues with the way executed the repair though. The chrome rod was blended with the weld, surely it will eat up the seals and leak. I also had a mild anxiety attack when they dropped the chrome rod on the ground. Will it work? Probably. Will it work as long as a proper repair? No. Situationally though I understand you have to work with what you got. I can appreciate the ingenuity.
It's not a bit of paper . The fact it sheared off 8n the first place would be my first question. Perhaps it was dropped on the ground and it broke. Nothing wrong with the repair.
@@mikepetergumball8337 Except that is not a "repair." The integrity of the rod can never, ever be restored with a weld. That's not how these things work.

The rod never retracts that far as to damage the seal.
I would STRONGLY recommend they keep the lathe tooling sharp. They’re “brute-forcing” material off, rather than cutting and peeling.
Ummm I dint think any of these people care about craftsmanship. It’s not like Japan where quality matters. Even China has higher expectations ..and even there that’s low!

Yes a nice rag fire while welding always adds to the fun. I prefer sheet metal. Aluminum foil isn't bad if you have it, just use several layers when when welding with high amps or the spatter will burn through the foil.
I think they do the best they can with what they have to work with....I hope the person making the money off of these videos, shares some of it with them....can only imagine how good they could do with modern equipment...

I watched one programme of CEE(cutting Edge Engineering)was a high call skill of repairing these type of equipment.
The skill of that person is beyond imigination.Hat off to that engineer.

Yep....... keep dropping it on the ground, I'm sure you could even put a few old tyres on the ground to put it on so the rod doesn't get marked. Wrap the rod up so it doesn't get weld spatter on it. cover the bed of the lathe so it doesn't get covered in spatter too.................. We won't mention anything about safety glasses when grinding eh.

Excellent job! Welding is actually stronger than most people think . I sent to this to a friend of mine who is a expert machinist and he saw no problems with this type of repair. He has seen this type of repair in another machine shop and the repaired job is still in service 10 yrs since the repaired shaft went into service. I don't go by peoples comments due the fact you don't know what type of person and issues that person is having including just plain want to badger anything they cannot do because it is way above them. It is called JEALOUSY.
The tolerances in these cylinders is 0.004"... not sure who your friend is. But you should ask them what they actually do for a living

Just for laughs. They applied all the techniques needed for this repair, in the totally wrong and messy way. When you have watched Kurtis (Cutting Edge Engineering Australia) to perform such repair, you know that these guys simply totally destroyed the ram, attempting to repair it. This cylinder ram in a few days of use, will return to the workshop or more possibly will take the road for its last trip, apparently to the scrapyard 😆
What a joke this repair is, just pitifully, shameful repair 😑 ... Watch Cutting Edge for comparison. It was kinda funny in a sick way.....

They did a great work by simple tools and hard handwork ..but,No accurate measurements done hence they depend on visual inspection only.

Maybe you are correct and the weld will fail eventually. But from what I see it looks like a much better weld than the one that broke. They have veed out the weld area to provide maximum penetration and I would judge this to be an excellent weld provided good welding technique was used. Unfortunately they are using flux coated rods and I don't notice them cleaning the flux out of the joint between welds. That would be poor technique leading to a poor weld
The original weld has very little penetration and appears to have been designed to work in compression only. Machine abuse resulting in this rod having a high tension load applied to it probably caused the first failure. I might guess this was the second cylinder on an excavator that was used to attempt to lift some massively heavy object. The second cylinder only has to lift the boom and a full bucket in normal digging (rod is in tension), but it must push much harder than that when digging in tough soil or rock. By now the manufacturers know that users will try to lift and carry heavy loads so modern machines will be made with more tension strength in these rods and cylinders, and also separate relief valves to prevent exceeding the design load for each cylinder in each direction.

That's why big construction companies order made in US equipment or made in western European countries using first world manufacturing facilities. Some 3rd world or 4th world company using 3rd hand used equipment will just pay these guys $200 to fix something that is just good enough to last 2 months. That's fine but they will never beat first world manufacturing.

Arc welding on a lathe like that will destroy the bearings. Should be a separate earth as close to weld as possible, even NEVER WELD ON THE LATHE.

tenga cuidado con los tornos no los saben usar.... la herramienta esta muy salida y no es la adecuada y el punto no estaba ajustado (min. 7:20) a la pieza por eso la vibracion,esa clase de chaflan se hace con el transversal para darle la inclinacion de los grados
