🗣📢🔊 hello guys once again, it's matt. Thank you all the members and the paterons. make sure to subscribe. 🗣📢🔊
The old intro 🗣️💯🔥🔊
You forgot "and let's. Get. Into it, guys."
i used to love this guys videos so much because they were amazingly detailed, all compressed into a 7-8 minute video, and even more incredibly he uploaded so quick after updates/announcements.
Now it feels like he takes ages to push out videos because he'll do 20 minute long videos with probably the same amount of info, except he'll do a few matches where nothing really happens... i miss when it just used to be gameplay with a voiceover ):
8:24 that wasn't a bug. MAW detects missile launches by monitoring the surroundings with ir sensors. So a gliding missile won't cause any reaction from MAW systems. Any sudden appearance of a hot ir signature will set off the MAW. Also you dodged a barely supersonic missile that didn't quite have the energy to hit you. Edit. Did some "research" on Wikipedia amd found out that there are also PD radar based and uv based MAWs. Mirage 2000 however has an ir based MAW if Wikipedia is to be trusted.
That's also what I was thinking
if you go frame by frame it looks like it totally couldve proxy fused
except itd be able to detect the aerodynamic heating caused by the missile flying through the air
@@patrioticpanda7618 theoreticly yes and some MAWS can detect missiles from their aerodynamicly heated frames, but it's also possible that it could be filtered as clutter made by other aircraft. I also guess that Gaijin has modelled MAW simply by just having the code say if missile engine burning in the range of MAW detection then give missile launch warning.
The new radar AUT modes are more of a detriment than a helpful fix because now if an enemy is dumping chaff you can’t get a proper lock with PD
I'd go into Tacview to check the kinematics of the MICA. 40km is optimistic for everything except the Aim54
I have to say well I know the micas are not designed for very long ranges if you’re going fast enough those missiles are so light that they just glide 20 km just cause they feel like it I’ve been hitting up to 37km shots with those things it is unreal
They were designed for long ranges, it's just that "long range" kept pushing farther and farther, and instead of upgrading the range over and over like on other arh, they kept it as a close to medium range dogfighting missile and developped the Meteor instead for BVR
@@nicolaspeigne1429 Considering how light they are, it's a smart idea
False... They have a maximum range of between 70/80km irl, it's just that on WT they are nerfed on their range, they have a disgusting drag and above all they oscillate so much at the start that they already lose energy.
@@user45g-4c5rf It's maximum range is comparable to 120A, so in modern BVR fight they aren't very useful
@@-..----.--.-... yes but now France use Meteor for that. However, in the 90', early 2000', MICA were competitive in BVR fight
i wish there was a hot key to switch from cursor mode on radar to auto switch
4:04 complain about guy firing missile when you are over half km away from its target than proceed to fire 4:13 missile when friendlies flying right next to the target and within easy view of missile.
500 meter is not a long distance for these active missiles. I have seen enough teamkills because of teammates like those, happen to me aswell.
The other missile is an IR missile that doesnt care about the friendlies as long as they are not crossing the IR beam of the missile itself.
@@crad5476mat was 500 meters away from the enemy not the guy firing it. However he fired his IR missile when friendly was within the view of the seeker and enemy was using flares, easily could have hit the friendlies.
Stop bootlicking him.
@@fennoman9241 You are repeating yourself with the same misinformation posted originally. You seem to have absolutely no knowledge on how the game works whatsoever. Considering the angle, mat was only about 200 meters away from the enemy, which is no considerable range for the radar missile, which could have easily hit him if the active radar went active, searching for signatures in mats direction.
The missiles with an IR seeker head dont just randomly target other planes unless they are flying DIRECTLY in the IR beam. There was absolutely no teammate near that.
Learn to read, understand the game and stop trashtalking.
@@crad5476 Considering the angle and fact that friendly radar painted the enemy target, the missile was nowhere near hitting mat, stop over reacting, seems like you never touched any missile ingame.
While mats IR seeker had friendly completely in view and could have easily hit him.
Stop being such a crybaby, go learn the missiles and stop bootlicking mat. Lil boy.
@@fennoman9241 I have myself been teamkilled multiple times by fox 3 and fox 1 missiles, I also teamkilled others that way, and the enemy was even further away than 500 meters. The angle was perfect to lock onto mat, you simply have absolutely no knowledge on how it actually works, you just want to make up a dumb reason to post hate comments on youtube.
The magic 2 missile mat fired was NOWHERE NEAR a teammate, especially considering the missile has IRCCM which drastically decreases the seekers FOV.
And once again, you have absolutely no knowledge about the missiles and simply want to spread hate because your ego cant handle certain things.
They are only good at close range... For the rest, they are bad, not being able to reach a target at 40 km even when flying very high and very fast. And that's still a problem for a modern Fox 3. As a result, you can't climb because the F15/F16s that have a huge rate of climb are always the 1st to be at the top and with the aim120s that have optimal drag, they can engage you at over 50km quite easily.
So in other words this thing slaps in lategame cus everyone's close by. In early game just hug the terrain and let the F15/16 waste all their missiles
The mica wobbles a lot after launch which I don’t see in the aim120. I can only assume it’s losing a lot of its energy throughout its travel because of that wobble
mica biggest problem is that it twerks a lot when flying thats why they suck ass long range
Firing the 120A's outside of 32km is a crap-shoot. If the person you are shooting at has more than 2 brain cells to rub together, the missile is easily avoidable. Within 24km you better defend fast and chaff, within 16km you're pretty much doomed.
When AIM-120C's come in ..... forget it; and even moreso with AIM-120D's. Those are some wild missiles. People be firing them like literally right as they're pulling their gear up 😂
sorry matt no fun this update all bug's and my Fps Always Drop and get me killed
According to an early leak list for the next update, Germany will finally receive something competitive at top tier. Gaijin decided to spoil us German mains with a 1960’s crop duster and the only armament is a handgun the pilot and shoot out of the cockpit. I don’t know about you fellas, but I’m grinning ear to ear 🙂

Not the devs fault that germany insisted on not cooperating with europeans and instead buys american and still does today
@@user-wb1ww1py2f Not cooperating? Bro, they were literally forced into having to buy equipment from the Western powers rather than have domestic production because of the sanctions put on them due to WW2. So, their options were limited. Never being able to buy the best of the best and having to make the lifespan of aircraft extend long past the time of them being outdated was commonplace in West Germany. That's why they used the F-104 and F-4 for so long. And lets be real, American Military Aviation has ALWAYS been on the cusp of innovation; so there is absolutely no reason to buy French or British aircraft that are just going to perform worse in their role against a technologically superior enemy. Think about it, what would fair better against a Su-27 or MiG-29, a Phantom or a Mirage III?
@@RollinRetro99 sure the F-104 was a better strike aircraft than the Mirage and yeah rethink your last sentence with Kfir instead of Mirage III cause they can be upgraded too
Did they nerf the roll rate, it feels like I’m flying a cruise ship now
Considering PD largely filters out chaff as well as most of these missiles and radars are largely unaffected by notching unless at long range, I’d say chaff is too powerful currently. I virtually never have to dump chaff unless I’m within the MAR and in that case I made a poor decision anyway somewhere. The missiles are so easy to defeat as it is without the chaff.
BVR larper detected
In reql life it has 80km range and gaijin just nerfed t as they do to any french radar missile
Idk if it’s always been like this but the clacking of the keyboard and the mouse are pretty distracting
The RWR system on the earlier Mirage's don't have a MAW's so it can't detect if IR missles are launched, but if you're getting a continuous wave (CW) warning then there's for sure a radar missle coming for you.
How do you move those two little parallel lines on the radar?
You need to set some special keybinds, I'm no pro but I bet you can find a tutorial somewhere.
you forget that's FF missiles
how do you know, when the missile went active?
There is a countdown next to the missile count or breaking lock forces it to be active early
tested em out and 120 beats mica in range. 120 best fox 3 in game atm. matt thinks su27 sm is the best aicraft of the patch 😂😅
MICA is better at close range so aim-120 and MiCA are pretty
equal
@@MartinVrcaYep at like extremely close range. Nothing can really evade the 35g of the 120's in a head on anyway tho.
I wish they’d raise the multipath to 75 and nerf chaff slightly
Wish the R-77 didnt suck
I mean, IRL the russian air force kept using R-27ET until R-77-1 was used correcting R-77 mistakes
Irl the russian air force still uses r27ets cuz its their only long range IR missile and its pretty strong @@potatouno
@@WarringPigeon9000 i'm sorry, i meant ER
how does it suck?
@@collander7766 bullshit range and it loses all of its energy after one turn
there is a bug half of plans got no countermeasurs what are u talkiing about
No reason the event mirage didn’t get these and that’s shit
Bro s4 dont have rdy radar ..
dude is like always a day late on the news lmao
Chaff is way too strong right now for the Micas to be enjoyable. Its ARH seeker goes for chaff every time it goes pitbull. The Super 530D has better tracking than it in a notch
The problem is we need this strong chaff, cause there is basically no multipath, and 20 Fox-3s coming at you
IMO chaff isn’t good enough lmao
@@alainbenito24I’d disagree. I know chaffing while notching does work IRL it just seems to be way too easy at close ranges.
Idk ive been having a great time with the Mirage and its Micas. Its easily the most fun plane of the patch for me.
@@alainbenito24We really don’t, fox-3s are simple to defeat even without chaff.
