- Got a request for the title track from E.T.'s 1963 Just Call Me Lonesome album. Man, this is one of the most depressing cry in your beer tracks E.T. ever recorded.
Recorded ~ June 13 1962 ~ Columbia Recording Studio, 804 16th Ave. South, Nashville 3, TN ~ Ernest Tubb & Texas Troubadours (Johnny Johnson, Leon Rhodes, Buddy Charleton, Jack Drake, Bob Steele, Tommy Jackson, Floyd Cramer. Producer: Owen Bradley)
The silence tells me HE is gone! This song appeared after listening to another song; couldn’t pass it by! ❤❤❤
Finest kind ever. Lovin' that ol' Troubadour 💓
just love country music..
Love Ernest Tubb. I'm a rocker but in my old age I've aged like fine whiskey and know what good country music is now. Better late than never.
Welcome aboard !
@@2packs4sure Thank you. My current favorites are named, Possum, Buck, Hank, Hank Jr., Willie, Webb, Lefty, ....and so forth.
@@mannyruiz1954 Just the 1959 - 2000 George Jones stuff alone will keep you going for YEARS..
@@2packs4sure I only have a compilation, The Essential George Jones. But I've been playing full albums by George here on YT.
Nice!
So crisp and clean and a voice that cuts right to the soul.
Yea ET was one of kind,,, no one before or since can make a sound like that!
Junior Brown was the only one in the ballpark we he was doin' straight country and he just kind of reminds you of ET. ruclips.net/video/WPwTtrAPhWY/видео.html
ET was great live too...... ruclips.net/video/2murIxEZVlQ/видео.html
@leone7227 Junior ALWAYS makes me think of ET,, lol
@Cruz Westin Yup, been using Flixzone for months myself =)
No one sings it like Ernest
Some of the very best country music that ever lived and will always be around
It doesn't get better than this!😀
Great quality
Man Ernest hits the nail on the head. What a classic.
Great song von ERNEST TUBBS..
Try not to put an S in the future,, [ Tubbs ] on Tubb.
It's just Tubb..
Tubbs drives the Tubb crowd crazy..... :)

Awesome!! Straight up gold!! Love ET.

Oh boy,, an ET binge,,,,,,, I can RELATE!
"Awww, Leon and Buddy..."
wow, such a fine tune. Wish i could have met Ernest...table steel guitar just gives me chills
I love his voice he sounds like a ghost or a creaking door all things real all things we have all experienced
Yea, and it's the best creaking door in the history of creaking doors !
That's a great Description sir. That's what Country can do hit your very Soul ☘️💚
Very nice singing.
Damn that is music 🎶
Great tune !
I'm baaaaaack! Sharing to my Facebook music group! Have a great day John!

Back for another listen and share! And then listening to another ET..being too lonesome causes "Slippin' Around"..LOL
This is one of those I've liked no matter who does it!!! Good job!!
Oh yea that's the stuff.
Awesome 👑
I am Lonesome from now on🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 yes when she's gone
LOVE IT, GOOD MUSIC, THANKS ERN
E.T. nothing like a shot of the "Old Troupadour"
Yep,, and one of the hardest hitting cry in your beer songs ever...
Why must I love the heartless one who'll never know the harm she's done
Though love is blind I should have known just call me lonesome from now on
I climb the stairs up to my room but no one meets me in my gloom
The silence tells me she is gone just call me lonesome from now on
[ guitar + steel ]
These walls will hide me when I cry and hope that heaven lets me die
What good is life when hope is gone just call me lonesome from now on
I pray my memories at last will fade into the distant past
If I must live and love alone just call me lonesome from now on
Like I said in the description,,, "one of the most depressing cry in your beer tracks E.T. ever recorded".
Recorded by many, including Eddy Arnold, Wanda Jackson, Slim Whitman, Ray Price, Jim Reeves and Elvis Presley. But I'm sure my Uncle Jerry liked Ernest Tubb's version best. (Radney Foster's song by the same title is entirely different.) Thank you so much!
Mr. Ernest put the "C" in Country !!
Love ET
Fuckin' A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very well put!
back when comments were happy
Great version of the old favorites song written by Rex Griffin. thanks for the uploads!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've heard all those and some others.
I love E.T. but Ray Price's version is the best.
Having said that, there are maybe 30 Ray Price songs i consider great and about 100 Tubb recordings i consider great.
Im a Ray Price fan as well. And as great as Ray was, Ernest Tubb is best.
What's gonna happen when the last, great steel player passes on? It's a dying art.
There are some great young ones out there today, they just don't play old school.
There's really little demand for it these days unfortunately..
@@2packs4sure That's unfortunate. I imagine it takes dedication to master that instrument.
@@Jim-lu9pw I should have said sufficient demand..
2packs thanks for putting this up and the info on this recording. It's a beautiful sound from that time and contains everything I enjoy about country music - voice and instruments are clear and easy to discern. Who does this now?
You are sure welcome and I'm glad you enjoyed it !
This song and I'm As Free As The Breeze are for me the two best cuts from this album. ruclips.net/video/_ohpUI-lpro/видео.html
Of course the correct answer to your question sadly is,,,,,,,,, NO ONE.....
@@2packs4sure I know, my question was rhetorical, sadly. Thanks again for the putting up these treasures.
@@garryvee Yeah I knew it was rhetorical but I couldn't resist.... lol
I'd forever more listen to this kind of country music than to listen to the bull crap they got today
Amen brother !
Leningrad cowboys brought me here
Neat, hope you enjoyed it!
me too~~~~haha
How low could Ernest go? (Voice-wise)
He could go pretty low, not low like J.D. Sumner low,,,, but low........
@@2packs4sure I don't think anyone could go as low as JD! Do you know in which songs Ernest hits his lowest note? Think the lowest I've heard is D2s (in a few songs).
@@conrar1320 When I first read your question,,, "how low could Ernest go",,,,, that's what I was racking my brain trying to remember,,, but I can't...
@@2packs4sure It's not a problem. I guess the average person doesn't really care how low/high someone goes. I'm just weird that way. :D
@@conrar1320 NO ! ,, I'm a weirdo too about this stuff,,,,,, but yeah,, the average person doesn't care.
I went looking through my posts earlier and one I found was ruclips.net/video/xVb4wXl2jhA/видео.html .
He goes about as low as he ever did in it.
Nice song but, Elvis..........!
Elvis never recorded this song.
Elvis recorded it in 1967.
Fuck Elvis
Check out Lucky Tubb as well, good stuff.
