I like old songs when I drink. I’m a simple man. Liquor and music is all I need. Old singers are the best. Et is one of my favs. Whiskey beer is all I need! Thank you.
His baritone just rumbles in my eardrums. What amazing tone. Tennesee Ernie had it too.
Yeah, prime ET was awesome,, Listen to I Love You So Much It Hurts and I Walk The Line from this album ~ ruclips.net/video/N2PdC35cRRc/видео.html 24 minute in....
BTW,,, much better sound quality on the one in this video ~ ruclips.net/video/UX_kUmKAzrQ/видео.html ~ last song of the 6...

I can relate !!
Great song Hank. Tubb and his band always top grade pickers
Leon Rhodes playing that acoustic lead. Great guitarist. Buddy Charleton laying down that great pedal steel sound. Two Packs comes up with real Country music for sure. ET like no other.
Amen, amen and AMEN! May Jesus rests their precious Souls.
American music at it's best
Awesome . Love ET & Hank . Thanks For sharing .
Great ole Hank Williams tune, ET knew Hank very well and got Hank on the Grand Ole Opry.
You are 100% correct Graig. And sorry, but HW did it better.
@@MrPatdeeee No shit he wrote the song.
@@backtoshellac6459 Actually not, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Highway_(Leon_Payne_song)
Leon Payne wrote this song on 1941 sitting on a roadside waiting for a ride. He first recorded it on 1948. Williams did it on 1949. Elton Britt in 1960. Many others including Joan Biez and many more too numerous to mention.
A proper, authentic performance. You can even hear the string buzz on Ernie's guitar. He must have had that action set pretty low. Makes this so realistic.
Yea, it's cool ain't it?
You play it loud! Great 👍
Glad to see my music has not been forgotten.
They don't make em like that anymore. What a pity. Glad we still have so many recordings to enjoy.
Yea, we're really lucky when it comes to Ernest Tubb because it's ALL available...
grew up with this music, great sound
Leon Rhodes was such a great guitarist
Yeah, he kicked butt !!

TRUE WESTERN MUSIC...Yee Haw...love it !
On a roll with ET today! Lovin' every minute! Thanks John!
Awesome voice.
Yeah,, ET's voice was amazing from 58' through mid 66' before the emphysema started kicking in..
Coolbeans my y’all love my adventures in reality of music
I love real old country
just a GREAT song......by the GREAT Troubador....
The real deal - thanks for sharing.
Wonderful
Great job on this Leon Payne Classic!!!!! Love it!!!
Yea, i've always loved this one.
It's a shame E.T.'s voice didn't just stay like this for another decade so we'd have hundreds more great cuts to enjoy.
2packs4sure I could listen to Ernest and the boys for hours thank you for posting!!!
Leon Payne not Hank but it’s often attributed to Hank.
Hanks went far but I like Ernest & Company’s a lot.
Now that is country.
Love, love love it! Thanks, John!
Country like it's supposed to sound.
Good one,Ernest sounded the best here😉
Great band leader
Now THATS gooood shit.
When you're right you're right... lol
Shenandoah means "Daughter of the Stars" . My ancestors settled there when they came from Germany.
OH BUDDY ... AND LEON
Love this thank you for sharing. Your channel never disappoints me.
Glad you're enjoying it!
BTW,,, much better sound quality on the one in this video ~ ruclips.net/video/UX_kUmKAzrQ/видео.html ~ last song of the 6...
Thanks....
Awesome
"Aww Buddy.... and Leon!"
Tubbs doing a crew shoutout long before rappers did...lol
Lol,, yeah,, and when he did his duets with Loretta Lynn he'd have her do it sometimes which is always cute as hell.
Example ~ ruclips.net/video/uJAylPGxHGA/видео.html ~ We're Not Kids Anymore ~ Side 2 track 3 ...
Old Blues cat thing to do
I'm a fool for that dirty ol slide guitar.
I imagine some trucker out there is listening to this at this very same moment i am.
Actually the young guys out there these days probably have ZERO idea who Ernest Tubb is....
I want you to be right though...
Love listening to this song while playing Red Dead
That's kind of perfect,,, cool !
this is my fav hank tune but i think i like this better just discovered it ya buddy
It's a good one for sure.
Something tells me I ain’t paid up yet.
That baritone voice is the result of years of Smoking and a tightening Learnex .
That was definitely a big part of it..
Superb!
The sound quality on this post is much better,, it's the last track. ~ ruclips.net/video/UX_kUmKAzrQ/видео.html
@@2packs4sure Thanks I used to go the Ernest Tubb Record Shop in Nashville and buy tons of Hillbilly and Rockabilly cds.
@@Austria88586 I went through the Rockabilly thing back in the mid 80's,, it was fun.
@@2packs4sure I don't care much for Rockabilly revival bands. I only listen to the old stuff. I saw Wanda Jackson perform and had dinner with Charlie Louvin in Franklin Tennessee. I've been listening to Ernest Tubb and Jimmy Driftwood a lot here lately.
@@Austria88586 Man,,, I'd have loved to have been at that dinner with Charlie !!
That's pretty special !!
Works......
I have no idea what that means.............
@@2packs4sure it works for me.....good music.....thank you.....
@@lornebain3831 Ok,, thanks !
Hank Sr. version sounds more genuinely heartbroken but mr Tubb´s version is very enjoyable in its own right
Actually a perfect description..
@@2packs4sure and thanks for all the great stuff. will buy the bear family box(es) soon. tubb is a five-star country legend and your chanel is 5 stars too
the Jingo Kid was here..
Have you got any other Leon Payne penned classics, recorded glory days of music row?
Oh, it's djdrugless, btw... curses to youtube and the google + doodoo.
Ernest is the 2nd Hank Williams
Actually Elton Britt, but Hank made more of it than Elton hence the common miscreditation.
My mistake, Leon Payne wrote it, Elton Britt was an earlier performer of it than Hank I think.
@@thomasjordan5578 well no.
Leon Payne wrote this in 1941. He recorded it first in 1948. Williams recorded this song 1949. Elton Britt recorded it in 1960.
No Leon Payne wrote it
