    Leon Rhodes playing that acoustic lead. Great guitarist. Buddy Charleton laying down that great pedal steel sound. Two Packs comes up with real Country music for sure. ET like no other.

      Leon Payne wrote this song on 1941 sitting on a roadside waiting for a ride. He first recorded it on 1948. Williams did it on 1949. Elton Britt in 1960. Many others including Joan Biez and many more too numerous to mention.

    A proper, authentic performance. You can even hear the string buzz on Ernie's guitar. He must have had that action set pretty low. Makes this so realistic.

      Leon Payne not Hank but it’s often attributed to Hank.

    Actually Elton Britt, but Hank made more of it than Elton hence the common miscreditation.
