I love this. It's awesome so much that I bought the vinyl record. Thank you for uploading this. Ernest tubb has and always will be a favorite artist of mine.
Powerful voice with so clear intonation. Wherever that voice can be heard, i'll be there, for sure, in order to get total satisfaction. Thanks, 2packs4sure.(Brazil).
I'm glad you enjoyed it !! Here's my favorite ET album from the mid 60's,, when he was still at 100% full power... ruclips.net/video/NMW38nau0u4/видео.html
Thanks John; I listened and enjoyed even the ones that didn't sound like his type of song. I scrolled down to read your comments when he sang Crying Time..I will be listening again real soon! Have a great night!
Hey Ruth,, I felt that Crying Time was one of the weakest ones on the album.. It's like everybody in the studio was late to catch a bus and just phoned it in.. I'll will readily admit however that I'm just a tough audience even with the artists I love the most !!
@@2packs4sure naw man it just really bothers me when i see how you say sometimes like he wasnt at his best in certain years. and listen man i listen to a lot of E.T. i use to listen to johnny cash and only hank williams Roy acuff sanford clark and many more till i seen a PBS documentary 2 years ago and they had talked the history of country music and that's where i learned the great name Ernest Tubb. And i can sing so many by heart and to me the was perfect from beginning till his last album im sorry i dont mean to seam like im yelling at you its just E.T my fav singer and i listen to a lot of genres but if u asked me right now if i was stranded on a island and could only be 1 person you bet your ass im tellin the E.T. with a doubt.
You're absolutely right The first three songs on this album are pretty good but the rest they don't really fit him at all especially when you listen to stuff that he made back in the early '50s
A DIME AT A TIME: HAD TO ADJUST TO THE MELLOW ORCHESTRATION COMPARED TO DEL REEVES RAUCOUS ONE, BUT IT WAS O.K. I THINK THAT GREAT PIANO SHOULD HAVE COME IN AT THE OUTSET AND CONTINUED STRAIGHT THROUGH THE RECORDING. THEN I WOULD HAVE LIKED THIS MUCH MORE. IF MY HEART HAD WINDOWS: I THOUGHT HIS VOICE SOUNDED THE BEST ON THIS TRACK. HE NEVER SOUNDED BETTER. 👏😀🌠 TONIGHT THE BOTTLE LET ME DOWN: DITTO ON THE PIANO NEEDING TO BE USED ALL THE WAY THROUGH. A REAL "ERNEST TUBB" KIND OF TRUCK-STOP DINER JULEBOX FARE.👏👍 CRYING TIME: I NEVER CARED FOR BUCK OWENS, OR THIS SONG, BUT ERNEST TURNED IT INTO SOMETHING FOR ME. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO ERNEST RATHER THAN BUCK TO RECORD AS A 45RPM SINGLE. SHE WENT A LITTLE BIT FARTHER: FARON'S VERSION NEVER MOVED ME. THIS ONE DID!👏👍😀
If you read my video description you know my feelings on most of this album but there are several I like and a couple we both like one being If My Heart Had Windows which I think is the best track on the album..
I always thought "Life Turned Her That Way" and "Image Of Me" were the same song just written different ways, I'm pretty sure they both had the same writer also, Wayne Kemp.

Hey Peggy !! This album was released in September 1968,, another you tuber requested it.. I'm sad to say that I really didn't care for the majority of the songs on this album but most ET fans are much more forgiving than I am...
@@peggybagley8031 Yeah,, that one is peak ET and peak Texas Troubadours with Leon, Buddy, and Jack Greene working like a swiss watch,, this one is WEAK ET,, he just not in good voice, the songs are wrong for the most part, the band without Leon Rhodes was lost, they sounded thin,, under rehearsed,, and the engineering wasn't great.
Hey there Ruth, yeah it was crazy we had 2 and a 1/2 inches of rain in about half an hour and my street was a river but no tornadoes,, lot of wind but no tornadoes in my neighborhood, everything's fine,,, thanks for axing !!!
probably not his best but lets consider that he is 35 years into his career here and there arent really many artists who´re still very good at this stage of their career. Im not a southerner or even an american (im greek) and discovered ET just recently, but I like him because he has an everyman-persona which seems very genuine and is somewhat of a likeable uncle who suddenly starts singing country-standards completely out-of-tune after a beer or so.
I agree with ALL that ! ET was just at the top of the downward trend of his peak years.. If you go through my channel and listen to more of the 1960 - 1965 ET with a discerning ear you cannot help but hear it..
Ill listen to some metal, industrial…death metal, and think to myself, “ man ,this is HEAVY stuff.” Then Tubb come on….and all of a sudden all the other stuff sounds weak. It don’t get heavier than that old Tubb stuff, maing.
A true pioneer of country music love it
