Cleared Hot Episode 214 - Josh Bridges

- Опубликовано: 5 фев 2025
- After early success in his wrestling career, it was during his college years that he lost sight of who he was and what motivated him. It was during these dark times where Josh was introduced to the Navy SEALs and the catalyst that would get him fit enough to join their ranks, CrossFit.
Once Josh had envisioned becoming a SEAL there was absolutely no turning back. Training harder than ever before, he overcame numerous hurdles to earn his trident and walk amongst the planet’s elite. During his time in the SEALs, Josh still trained harder than ever to accomplish another lofty goal of competing in the CrossFit Games. Balancing the grind of serving his country, he managed to do what he set out to and took 2nd place in the 2011 CrossFit Games, thus catapulting his name into the limelight in the world of competitive fitness. Known for his fiery antics and passionate roars of satisfaction when crossing the finish line after a job well done, he has gone on to compete at the CrossFit Games six times, winning multiple events and regionals along the way.
Josh’s approach to mental preparation has long been sought after and he could not be more excited to help anyone from all walks of life to become the best version of themselves.
Andy bringing in an old school guest, with that old school audio
Audio suuuuuuucks
Lmbo
Lol
The audio wasn't that great but it was still a great podcast. And that ''Hickory Dickory Dock'' joke about the husband being cucked made me burst out laughing. I'm going to be writing my own comic book about a Superman-like character and I'm going to put that joke into the comic(and I'll credit the Cleared Hot podcast as the source of the joke).
@@JR-ju3kj what time is the joke? Don’t have time to watch the whole thing
Guys, I am 58 and I have been active my whole life including crossfit. I really needed to hear this podcast. I actually started a boxing oriented exercise program and had my former crossfit coach tell me to limit my workouts to 1 hour. I really do appreciate this episode.
I worked with Josh's father in the IDOC. He is extremely proud of his son and we all followed Josh during his crossfit competitions. Kudos CHP, great interview.
Audio issue was nowhere near enough to deter from this great episode. Loved the conversation
Damn one sponsor for the whole year?! Congratulations man. You deserve it. That’s awesome.
Hell yes. I’ve been waiting for Andy to get Josh back on in the new studio. I hope Josh goes on Jocko some day soon. He worked under him for a little bit and told some great stories before

Been waitin for this one! No idea how I came to it 6 months late but here goes!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Glad you were able to recover the audio! Great learning experience, even if it is annoying...
lol, I spent 20 mins trying to figure out what I broke on my set up that was making my audio sound all wonky. Then I looked over and saw this comment. You may have just saved me god knows how much screaming and gnashing of teeth. Thanks brother. 😁
I could listen to these two trade stories for days.
I literally live vicariously through you and your vet friends, then i go play rainbow six haha🤦🏾♂️ remembering that i was one step away from the army but they didn’t want me needed college credits because i only pass with a “Certificate of completion” (hated school) Army was gonna be my route but it all worked out im driving truck instead and pursuing my music hobby currently hopping to be considered one of the best songwriters in the future. Thank you for you bravery and your podcast sir ..
And yes Gitmo i think will be useful in this near future actually
Congrats on the yearly sponsor!!!!!!
Great coffee, great podcast. Great day!!
Bridges is one of my all time favorite crossfit athletes and he is just a great dude or should I say "good dude" (his coffee people, try it, it's good dude lol!). Happy new year mother Stumpfers!
49:00 I have to imagine that some of those folks who drop at that late stage might feel like they proved to themselves that they can do it, but might see a career of needing to "meet and exceed" those standards as just too much. Like if we were talking about a marathon, that is one thing. Completion is the whole goal there. But from what I have heard you all describe, BUDs is just the beginning of the hard work that goes into being a SEAL. Could totally see a guy being like "Well I now know I am capable of it, but is this intensity level day in / day out what I want the rest of my service life to look like."... Just a thought. Great episode!
Yea I always thought about the guys who barely get by the dive phase of it and suck in the water but still graduate BUDs. Like do you really want a career based in the ocean where you’re diving all the time in training? Lol I could definitely see someone thinking, “even tho I passed, I barely passed and I don’t wanna do this shit for the next 6 years” or however long it is
That guy was definitely one of my moto guys in the Crossfit days. Glad to get a little more insight into him and his history
Idk why but I thought this episode was like 3 hours long and was surprised when it abruptly ended while I was listening to it at work lol
You guys are a hoot. I pour concrete. Have for 20+ years. You talk about the same pains / smack as we do at work. The ole man was a Marine Corp Sargent. We were conditioned to behave. I am addicted to pouring concrete. It gives you a certain rush and pump like working out. Good times. 😁
Thank you Black Rifle Coffee!
Great company.
I just wanna say, I am gonna put in an order for a couple hundred bucks to black rifle coffee if for no other reason than sponsoring the pod this year. I humbly suggest others out there like me, who get pissy about ads do something similar. Let's show the love to the guys for making the commitment.
I enjoyed this episode soooo much! Josh is amazing and I frickin loved the conversation. Great job, Andy!
24:30 Yes, thank you for confirming my theory! My question has been "Is this gonna be better if I do more?" And then the "Ohhhh..." moment comes.
Great job, thanks Andy
Awesome podcast! Josh was awesome to listen to and seems like a great person! Happy to hear that BRCC is picking up the reins and sponsoring you all year! Look forward to your PC on JRE where I first heard you.
Flip brcc.....traders
Slightly awkward since Bridges owns his own coffee company too…
@@snesie7172 traders or traitors?

That OEF tour with team 3 must have been fun, imagine that, it's like a field trip! Except it's not to the museum or the zoo, it's... to war!

You did a good job with your setup. We can't even tell that you're in a tunnel
You read as many ads as you want. Real listeners know that those ads support the podcast.
Andy, no homo….but holy sh!t that Origin sweatshirt is on point! Love Origin, been wearing their Gi’s for years. I’ll be picking up that sweatshirt as well! Keep up all the great work! And thank you for your service. From Boston MA.

Idk, scrolling down to find the time stamp was part of the listening experience. Made the podcast interactive🤷🏽♂️
I see some of Old man Callen peeking, just peeking =)
Thanks to Evan. DOL, buddy.
Audio?
@JoshBridges need your t-shirt listed for sale on your site!
Andy, do you know a guy with the last name Sherwood? He was a seal and is very into the CrossFit scene.
Can you please try bringing back Andy Arrabito
“I eat like a 12 year old with no parents”. Classic.
All of that competition weight training might have compressed some of Josh’s discs a bit.
So he may now be shorter than Nick Norris.
Instagram in deed doesn't like Josh. Been following him for years and I don't think Ive ever seen him come up in my feed.
Turn on post notifications and he’ll show up. Weird he doesn’t have a blue check tho
Andy - “Hey guys we have new things coming for 2022. No more audio quality!!” Jk great podcast dude.
Still waiting on that perm Andy.
Josh Bridges is the fucking man!
Congratulations on the sponsorship! The audio on this was terrible! Lol but good episode none the less!!
audio is off. Sounds like gopro audio instead of the normal audio.
yeah he explains that in the intro if you had listened to it lol
@@CodyAnderson333 Life's too short to listen to sponsors and intros lol
The blue check might have a height requirement, comment I'm shocked Andy didn't make
Jeez I hope his house is OK from the fires
Did Josh and his family fair OK after the Boulder New Years Eve Fires?
Fit dude
Damn, I'm definitely gonna have to step up my Monostructural game😂
Sounds like the voice wasn't even picked up off the mics in front of you guys, but instead maybe another mic like a laptop lol. Any ways not even that bad of quality
Wait did he really forget to plug in the mics and have to recover the audio from something else? If so thats hilarious lmfao
Screw the audio im just here to look at your bulky sweater for an hour and a half
Very short Pod
Can you get Mike Day on
real question though, is Josh still... PAYING THE MAN???
Now is when Snow White flour in the kitchen be hella welcome.
Wow people complaining about AD reads need to get a life, god forbid you make a living doing something we and you enjoy. You can fast forward through the AD read, or better yet just get a life.
Audio is poop lol but great show !
Oh thank god good to know my 10 year old boy isn't the only one that has to be forced to shower and brush teeth....lord. then gets in the shower and wont' get out. make up your mind son!
how tall is josh?
sound sucks andy attention to details but love your show as always
Let's go Brandon! You can beat the algorithm!
Why is the audio shit?
It was filmed in a pineapple under the sea
Listen to the introduction
Unda da sea 🎶
hey andy, get joe rogan on😂
The audio is terrible!!!
Lol, burgers and burritos are my healthy food.
I am sure you are aware by now Andy but ... your mic is fucked ... or the connectors/other hardware. The sound quality is the extreme top end (harsh on the ears) and the volume was not even close to a comfortable listening db ...

FLANK
Audio should be fixed.
Change the record, talking about BUDS in the platoons is pretty uncool. Talking about buds on a podcast in a retirement, double uncool.
Love the podcast generally. Wrestling, BJJ talk is meh.
Top ten Cross Fit dudes are on drugs. Look at the GH gut on the chicks.
Whaaat? Are you kidding? Next up youll say strongmen are too..?
Audio is unlistenable. Sorry brotha I ain’t hatin I listen to every episode but this is unlistenable
People still do CrossFit??🤣🤣🤣💩
I thought the point of the headphones was to double check audio quality …. 🤷🏽♂️ free content is free
