as a barber of more years than i care to count, i hate to admit it, but i still struggle with "fades" ...& this is EXACTLY what i needed! i may need to invest in some new equipment, sure, maybe, but first i needed to invest in an education, kinda like how becoming a better driver starts with a "Driver mod" not a "Car mod" ...awesome job of breaking it down man, thank u!!
Thanks for this informative upload. It takes me back to the classroom to get a thorough overstanding.Your knowledge and experience is very much appreciated. Keep informing the people...
Amazing run down of the barbering staples. My fiancé only likes getting big chops every six months or so I always do a refresher and this is that much needed refresher. His semi fade came out great!
Idk why you don’t have a million followers! Your by far the best teacher....I’m in barber school now and the instructors don’t go in depth as much as you do and I learn more from you then the actual instructors at the school
'Rona got me here like damn... but My Wahl designers don't have the 1 1/2. The Andis explanation was an enlightening. No other barber explained it like you. Thanks!
I was not avear I don’t keep clippers flat And sometimes I hade a problem with fades take me more time to fade and somehow I did good fade. But now I think I will be faster when I am fading. You explain very good. Continue with the videos i like it they are one of the best.
Dude you are the man! I just finished cutting my own hair and actually proud of it this time! Took my time and followed your steps. I just gotta work on the clipper over comb skill. Best barber on RUclips in my opinion.
Im a mommy barber.. Most videos of other barbers out there are clinical based tutorials which is great. I've been looking for lecture based barber videos. My problem is blending and the steps of haircutting. Im a visual learner and this helped me see what it is that I'm doing wrong. Thank you for your videos. I've learned so much!
This video was priceless! I been trying to figure out if fading is like stairs and it is! 😳 Light bulb moment! I been messing up holding clipper flat as I close lever. Thanks man I owe YOU BIG TIME💪
I wish I could subscribe twice cause this the best video I’ve came across. I learn more in this video then any video on RUclips. Keep up the great work.
Hey man I just got into barbering I have been doing it for a month now and it’s has been going well but I have been struggling to take out the lines and this simple explanation really helped me a lot so thanks a lot 🙏🏼 it helped me understand where I was going wrong and how I can fix it
Thank You. I have seen no better straight to the point tutorial. Explained very well. I was hoping someone did this earlier today and this just pops up without ne searching for it!
This is the video I've been searching for. I've had to teach myself how to fade as I've never worked in a barbershop and as a hairdresser I've found it hard to get a job as a barber here . So I learned how to fade from getting my own haircut by my barber and asking him questions and trying to learn visually what he does. 2015 is when I learned or taught myself how to fade. I work in construction now so I don't have much time on the clippers anymore but I wish I had this video back in 2015. I probably would've been fine and learned how to fade if I was in a barbershop but it's hard to get those clean fades if no one teaches you. Thanks for the video I appreciate the time and effort you put into making this. Thank you.
The breakdown of the guard is awesome. The video playing as you explained really works since I am a visual learner.Wish I had seen this video before. I am subbing
thank you for your videos. i am learning to cut hair and am practicing on my boyfriend every week & i try to watch videos to learn the most i can. my biggest problem is removing the lowest line. i hope with practicing and watching your videos I can get better acquainted with cutting hair.
Totally agree. I'm new a d I just got a new wahl senior cordless. This is do much help. You explain that perfectly and in such a clear way Really appreciate it
Great video brother, this is the absolute best explanation of a perfect fade process. I finally "Get it" I wish you continued success with your business and will share your channel with my fellow students.
Thanks bro, this is awesome for someone like me starting up I'm learning loads from you bro. thanks for giving back, knowledge is power. You vids really give me the enthusiasm to learn the trade.
Just been fading my hair for like 10 years and I almost do the same every time, except I don’t angle it once I close the guard, but right on I will give that a try thx!!!
Many Thanks for this video having been out of the business for a while and just getting back in face were not popular when I was cutting here we were doing tapers which were similar but not the same and I appreciate learning from you and others on RUclips who take the time invest the money on video equipment and are willing to share your knowledge with others it takes a lot of work to do that especially after you've been working a full day so thank you again for all that you do I appreciate your reviews on equipment as well because I am trying to upgrade my Arsenal and you've given me some great insights on a lot of the equipment that I have bought recently
@@RUclipsBarberAcademy I would like to see you do a video comparing the Andis Supra ZR with the octane I want to buy one of them I'm not sure I can get past the sound volume of the octane's even though everything else about them is stellar however I know that the Andis Supra are heavier and I'm not sure I'm going to like that either so I'm really torn between the two
I love watching your videos I have learned so much!!! Just an artists opinion....I LOVE the look and attitude you are rocking without the beard....so much less hard ass... So much different than all the other tattooed overcompensating attitudes barbers typically have.....not sure which is more recent but I love the no beard Eddie ❤
So if you still see the line from 0 to 1. I should keep the trimmer at an actual angle and use the corner of the trimmer to get the line out? So I'm not keeping the trimmer flat and at an angle, right? I apologize for my poor explanation lol.. I'm just curious, I always see a slight line from the side of the head that are stubborn to get out and when I do attempt to get them out, another line gets created. I'm clearly a newbie but I'm going to keep trying and get this right. This video helped a lot, it was very informative and detailed. Thank you!

Hello THANK YOU for the great info, Im a newbie, Im confused on how you start your guide line, I watch videos and see some make a guide line on the side then drop down in the nape then some go even all the way around, what is the philosophy of creating the guide line. what do you use to determine how much curve, what is the arch. around the ears into the back. I understand different for what fade you are doing but what determines the arch or curve from side to back. Thank you
I love how you made this simple. My only question is what increments are you working per guard? Is it an inch, half inch..etc? The side of a persons head leaves little room to do many steps so I'm just curious where about do you start the bald line and then how far up do you go up the head with the guard open, half guard closed then open, one guard closed then open, one and a half guard closed then open, then the two guard?
