Acolyte 2
As we enter the Jedi temple on Olega, Mae infiltrates quite easily, as she finds Master torbin, who hasn’t spoken to anyone in 10 years as he sits there and meditates in mid air.
Mae tries to fight him but he has the force field shield to keep her out.
Osha meets Jecki, and Sol speaks with Yord about the twin theory and how they could be working together. Yord is very uptight and like a super strict book worm.
Vernestra speaks with Sol on hologram and confirms it’s Mae, Osha’s twin as another attack broke out, which was the one on sleepy master torbin.
Mae goes to speak with a potions master who knows about her identity and her Sith master.
He talks about peace being a lie, and Mae says yes, rapidly, that’s part of the Sith code which makes me wonder who this dude is. And why they are reciting a part of the Sith code.
He makes her a poison for Torbin, and she leaves, when she tells him not to tell the master about this, as she’s going against his order to not use a weapon.
As Sol heads to Olega to speak with the Jedi temple of rejects, Mae makes her way in and speaks to Torbin, telling him she knows why he took the Brash vow. The first time we heard of the brash vow, was from the Darth vader comic from 2017 where Vader fights Kirak Infila who took the brash vow vowing to remain abstinent from activities of the Jedi, refocusing themselves on the force only. For example Kirak infila took the vow and didn’t hide after order 66, which is how Vader found him.
She tells him his past still haunts him. Makes him feel guilty for the past. He finally opens his eyes and speaks to her, saying he’s waited for her for years. He takes the poison and ends himself due to guilt. He says he thought he and the Jedi were doing the right thing. I guess he was there at the fire all those years ago.
He drinks the poison and dies. The Jedi arrive at the scene of the crime and Osha tells them the poison vile smells of Boonta, from her hometown.
They visit the apothecary as Osha wears a wire on the poison maker, who admits Mae killed Torbin and that their master will be pleased.
The Jedi infiltrate him at his shop and he says all he knows, which is about getting revenge on 4 Jedi. 2 of which are dead, I guess the others are Kelnacca the wookie and Sol. Any Jedi who was stationed on Brendok 16 years ago.
Mae and Sol fight, and he easily beats her. Yord watches from 2 meters away with binoculars to make sure nothing bad happens to Sol.
They corner Mae when she uses force push to create some smoke and sand to escape.
As Mae runs through the city, she steals a speeder and Osha and her see each other. Osha tries to shoot a a stun blast at her but misses, probably on purpose as she has used one before.
Sol speaks with Vernestra, she put a small number of masters together for a council meeting, she says it was one thing his apprentice went rogue, she speaks of Osha, but it’s another an outsider is killing Jedi.
As Mae meets with Snape, the portions master, she is informed of Kelnacca’s werabouts, on Khofar. Where we jump to the forest planet, as we see Kelnacca take out some hunters, pulling their blaster to him with the force.

Masters Sol feels like star wars, the rest looks and feels like an older star trek episode.
I was just describing this exact thing to my coworkers who haven't seen it yet. He's the best character by far so they will probably kill him off
The overweight Jedi bothers me.
I'm a heavy guy myself so this isn't fat shaming, it's me trying to think logically, specifically about the heavy Jedi guy. It doesn't make sense to me that a Jedi would be overweight. Jedi are trained from childhood in the Jedi Arts. I'd expect there to be a level of fitness and discipline for Jedi Knights. They don't all need to be buff by any means and before someone brings up the "Size matters not" argument, I'm not talking about whether a heavy person can be a warrior or not. I'm talking about the philosophy of the Jedi.
Greed and gluttony are traits of the Dark Side. I'd absolutely expect to see overweight Sith who gorge themselves but I'd expect a Jedi to only eat as much as they need to function healthily. They'd have learned this discipline as a padawan.
I recognise that it's a weird thing to focus on but it kinda took me out of it. Also, I hate the LED lightsabers Disney have been using in recent years. The blade look too wide and yeah, they help in casting natural light, which is good but they don't look quite right.
Even if you were a skinny guy, you can still say what you said and it not be 'fat shaming'
I’m a bigger guy myself and I tend to agree with you completely.
Got to represent literally everyone 😂
100% agree, jedi need to be quick and have great reflexes, i dont imagine this guy doing a backflip of anykind or a high jump and landing it
Are we forgetting that there was literally a hutt that was a Jedi?? There are also Jedi that are just like straight up snakes with arms. Jedi can come in all shapes and sizes lol
Its absolutely cringe how average star wars had become
Mall cops, wearing a wire, obese jedis, teenage comedy bickering between jedis.
Absolutely insane
Uh, bickering is like Star Wars 101.
"Teenage comedy bickering"
It seems your brain/eyes skipped over 2 key words.

The Potions guy is the Sith Master. He is engaging in a deceptive game with Mae by pretending to be her helpful supplier. Hiding in plain sight. Remember how he effortlessly defended against her and thwarted all her attacks with ease? To me he revealed his true self when he quickly realized Osha was impersonating Mae. Additionally, he was very impressed when he believed Mae had killed the Jedi Master without using the poison, momentarily dropping his act in both instances.
I thought this too, but I seriously hope that's not what happens. It would be too predictable.
good theory. it’s a bit predictable but would still be kinda cool
Then say goodbye to Plagueis and Tenebrous
He fights too well to be just a side character.
Good theory, I was thinking it was the other Jedi ,not Sol ..the guy with the hair. But I like your theory better
I believe Yord was recording the fight between Sol and Mae. You can see a red recording button flickering when it pans to the binocular HUD.
I feel like May isn’t as intimidating as I’ve hoped to be.
I saw a lot of potential in her being this stealthy and deadly acolyte, yet she strangely openly challenges a Jedi to a fight in a crowd of people and states the obvious.
Not very stealthy or Sith like(in a era where their supposed to remain hidden)
I lowkey think that’s the point, when she comes in contact with a Jedi that she plans to kill, she calls them out which seemed weird at first, but I like to think she’s just inexperienced and nervous
Edit: yeah this is wrong I’ve realized
She’s also not a sith and she may not even be a full acolyte. And the sith we’ve seen is probably not the master but the apprentice.
@@joshbourne9679 who knows, could be
I feel like because she's targeting specific jedi she wants to openly challenge them
She’s not trying to be stealthy, she’s proving some point making the Jedi draw their weapons first.
i’m surprised that no one has mentioned plo koon because he’s much older than yoda and also a master
1:44 You forgot that the 'Potions Guy' wasn't supposed to be there, he had killed the guy who owned the shop and took his clothes, he is her accomplice not an Apothecary!

Shhhh theory was too busy looking for issues to pay attention to all the plot points
Well, it would've made more sense if we *saw* her accomplice do all this.
Not just be *told* that it happened.
Amazing how twins separated for years in a galaxy so big they both have the exact same haircuts/ style

First they are identical twins, secondly I think Mae knew that Osha was alive the whole time and is purposely trying to frame osha
@@Tristan_FB82maybe but she seemed shocked when she saw her. However it was poorly acted so it was kinda confusing

@@zackpayton7421 the episodes were good. You just can't handle the change.
@@A21-EDITS21 well first off, it’s hardly new, we have had stories and books in this era for decades already at this point.
second, disney has only released one single good star wars show in the last two years, so that isn’t new either.
and, like Theory keeps saying, saying “oh you hate new things” or “you’re just sexist” or other things in that strain of argument are stupid and pointless. you don’t know me, and so accusing me of things such as “you hate new things” makes you look really dumb.

@@gabe9651the fuck you mean “pronouns being used???” 💀 everyone has pronouns
I'll admit I was sceptical at first but I was really pleased, personally I enjoyed the first 2 slides because its something totally new, its a total outlier to the timeline of the shows and movies so its very unique. I also enjoyed seeing the jedi of Old and their much more peaceful state of mind, which is why I think a lot of them are wearing white around the temple.
That's exactly the reason why they have much softer tones in their color robes
This is not Star Wars. It’s a shitty attempt and politicizing and making star wars about identity politics. Dont suck into this Disney garbage. Bad writing and flat uninteresting characters
@@morbincentral3607could you explain your gripes with the show itself? I would love to know what you dislike about it
@morbincentral3607 there only uninteresting chacters cuz we've never seen them before. Usually I never interact with the SW community because its way to split on views rather then just being happy that we have it while we still do, yea some of it isint great at all but I'm still happy we have something to discuss.
I disagree on the mannerisms of the Jedi of Old. I think Sol definitely represents that of what a Jedi should be and how he handled the situation with that one youngling who saw fire that consumed all.
But I found their reasons for wanting to put an end to The Acolyte and why they were worried that it was Osha. They were worried how it would affect them politically... maybe I forgot or missed something but the Jedi being worried about politics is just something I found so interesting.
Its like watching the seeds of their own destruction since this show takes place 100 years before The Phantom Menace.
I genuinely like this show so far. Came in with no expectations and I’m pleasantly surprised
Shocked you didn't mention the dark force user needlessly igniting his red lightsaber just for the camera and for literally no other purpose... Could've and should've introduced him or her better.
This was painful to watch
The apothecary is the figure we see with the red lightsaber. He hides in plain sight so that he can monitor her progress. He also knows the whereabouts of the wookie jedi. Also notice how he acts just like Palpatine. A sly, approachable man who can act innocent when it suits him.
Exactly
Don’t forget how he caught Mae’s arm when she tried to kill him. She was trying to be stealthy and sneak up on him. No way some normal “scum and villainy” type is able to casually subdue an assassin that’s capable of squaring up against Jedi Masters.
Like Littlefinger
Fyi its a pink lightsaber......yup
Did anyone notice when she hit on the child padawan all like "I'm better company... and more flexible"... these woke directors be hella sus
Andor and the Jedi games are the only Star Wars stories I'm invested in
Assuming the 'binoculars' were a recording device.
Theory gets too much hate…i disagree with him on a few things but doesn’t mean i think less of the guy who is one of the first Star Wars channels I ever followed consistently….thanks for your thoughts as usual Theory
Exactly. People need to grow up and be okay with people disagreeing with them.
Have you noticed on this video he isn't getting that much hate, most comments are in agreement. The first vid he put out all the top comments are hating on Theory. Makes me think it's a coordinated thing with "accounts" being told to post and like hate comments towards him.
The only people I see hating on theory are the true believers over on reddit r/StarWarsLeaks, and while I have no concrete proof I’m 99% sure at this point that that place is used by Disney as part of their astroturfing marketing. I was banned for posting real leaks that didn’t fit in with their narrative. Lucasfilm has been caught using bots on Twitter as recently as this year so it’s really not much of a stretch.
I agree to disagree. Years ago he was a die hard fan bringing everything to life and and sharing in depth info like none other. Now it's all about business and it's become a "my way or the highway" attitude. Big difference between hate and constructive criticism.
RUclips just removed my comment talking about Disney’s astroturfing. Only serves to prove me right.
So far not as bad as I thought it'd be. Sol is a pretty cool character. We'll see how it progresses. Not too bad I guess
Edit: I take it back. Ep 3 ruined the show. What a disaster
In the same boat. The show's okay, though I may have set the bar low.

Master Sol is an absolute win, everything else feels empty when you reveal the twin issue up front. As of right now I can kinda predict how this is gonna go but I want to be wrong. It’s a 6 from me it’s ok but I wanted to care about these guys more and I don’t right now.
So far the show is like a 6-7/10. Hopefully episode 3 doesn’t ruin things….

Show's Garbage word on the block is that they'll explain how Osha and May were conceived with two women in episode 3.
I heard they are about to introduce pronouns in episode 3

I think the Jedi started the fire because they thought a coven of force sensitive witches were dangerous.
Show is great
Mostly dissappointing two episodes tbh Master Sol is the saving grace for the show right now. Will keep an open mind for the rest of the season but honestly I wanted to love it from the get go but I just don't...How Leslie hedland got the job running, directing and writing this show is just baffling...
It was awesome!!
Those deaths were indeed disappointing, especially Torbin
I understand why people hate it because of what the director has been saying before the show premiered. I was lowkey pleasantly surprised. It wasn't perfect. It was passable. I was glad I got to watch on the watch party with everyone :)
Exactly what I was saying
Agreed…PR was generationally terrible, but episodes 1 & 2 were honestly nowhere near as bad as I expected
Lol, That is such a small group... I couldn't stand the writing. The show 100% contradicts itself every few scenes, The writing is flat and uninteresting. at best? 5/10
Remember when this show was advertised as a "Sith" Show? LOL
The only redeeming quality is the sets and how it looks. Sol is alright but any half decent written character will 100% overshadow him if they were in scenes together.
@@BabyGollumhow does it contradict itself? Elaborate…
How can this be the peak of a jedi but you can't multitask and die. Then a guy can meditate and have a impenetrable force barrier... if you looked into the girls mind you will know what really happened. Maybe I'm slow but the force powers forgot to be relevant
I want to see the chubby Jedi in action 😅

Expectations should be tempered.
It's a little bit too much Martial Arts, but i'm amused and exited too see the next Episodes👏
It's nice to see they're trying to build up the mystic element for the story (which is oddly new to SW movies/tv shows). Rather fed up with traditional storytelling, so I'm completely fine with the shattering bites and pieces of lore or details into the Acolyte story. This era looks the same as the modern one, but for once i felt free and fresh from the shadows of the original trilogy/prequel/sequel stuff. Thank God for that.
I agree with you on your point that it would’ve been a much better story if they would’ve given us an episode or two to see the characters and Jedi and get a feel for them rather than immediately jumping into the thick of things. I think that’s the problem with doing shows like this, you have so much story and plot you need to fit into a 30-40 minute episode with a relatively small episode count that you lose the ability to flesh out the little details that make a great finished product.
They really need to just stop picking an episode number and cutting things until it fits. Everyone is streaming nowadays. Who cares if it's 8 episodes or 9, 10, 11. They don't all need to be the exact same length either, just kinda close.
Anyone notice the episode 3 video game music in the background? I thought that was pretty cool. Whoever is in charge of sound was definitely a fan.
I loved everything about it then. ? Maybe it's just me but looking forward to the rest 😊
I enjoyed these 2 episodes more than the Ahsoka ones.
Guys. Smilo Ren is gonna be the twins mother! Incredible writing at Lucasfilm. Shes gonna be a misunderstood villian hunting the jedi down for taking her kids and burning their home lol prediction is in
After she gets her revenge she will go back to the other mother and scissor her with all the hate in her heart. So brave, so stunning.
I was wondering if possible for the dark side masters reasoning for not using weapons as a trial to rely solely on the force and more specifically the dark side of the force, perhaps a nod to Palpatine's dislike for weapons especially the lightsaber.
i really like it so far
I thought it was kinda boring, hopefully it gets better.
dont hold your breath
Honestly story: basic but atleast different for Star Wars,
The only real problem/complaint I have is how I don’t feel invested in the characters, and I think that’s not really the writers or directors fault, I think it’s more because of the 8 episode shit Disney pulls, so certain aspects had to be taken out
Enjoying it so far!
Thanks my g
The greatest achievement of this show so far is that it made Ahsoka and Obiwan look so much better in comparison
IT'S TORBIN TIME
I don’t understand the critics. I think these two episodes have been pretty decent so far. Still a bit early to call it a good show but I’m looking forward to the next episode

I couldn’t agree with you more than what was said here, I too would have loved to see more depth into the characters that we’ve been introduced before they died but with only 2 episodes who knows maybe things get better for the show and us the audience
Shows mid just like every other disney original serries. I thought ep. 2 was better and more exciting tbh cuz the twin sister reveal made it interesting. Although the squid games guy is stealing the show which I don't mind. I'm semi excited to see where the story goes.
This honestly was fine. It’s a Disney + show I’m not expecting it to be written by Tolkien or directed by Nolan. For what it is I think it’s interesting and the hate comes from the lingering effects of corporate decisions and past work. The show itself is not bad so far. Arguments?
I really enjoyed this show I feels like Star Wars and it’s done well no expositional bs it moves with minimal wasted time
At 5:02 you mentioned that it was funny how they were watching Sol with binoculars but you have to remember Sol requested to face Mae alone and thus the others were just spectators ready to jump in if things went wrong or if Sol failed.
I was disappointed in this. The acting and dialog was dry and wooden. The characters were not deep and compelling. Basically I didn't feel or care for the characters.
Compare this to Andor (live action) and the various animated Star Wars latest being Bad Batch. They were good, deep and compelling. I cared about the characters even the animated ones in the Bad Batch.
I don’t think it’s been bad so far, but I also don’t think the show has been all that good. It’s kinda just ok and I hope it gets better (Master Sol is great tho)
I appreciate this, cus I dont have to waste time watching this garbage, aswell as they will never get the view from me because I don't want to support it. You have done the OG Star Wars fans a massive service. Much love
2 episodes in, out of 8, and when The Acolyte was first announced we were told the show would be a deep dive into the Sith Underworld and have a darker tone to it. I haven't gotten that at all and not even one mention of the word sith or dark side or anything that would suggest that aside from the unnecessary red lightsaber guy watching the waves tide come in.
I won't be watching it, but it's good to hear the recaps from Theory.

I will watch Theory cover this. Not renewing my Disney+ for this.
Not a fan of Disney star wars but im quite enjoying this show so far, theres still 6 episodes to go so i wont hold my breath
The episodes are very brief, especially for something that cost so much.
With all the internet controversy over the show and crazy comments by Leslye Headland, I was expecting much more of an ideological nightmare than we got in the first two episodes. However, I can already see the show setting up for some major ideological statements that I'll strongly disagree with, especially if the rumors about ep. 3 are true. Ideology aside, overall, I just feel that Disney is making shows to make them. The story so far is bland and lacking any real originality or complexity. How did it get $180 million? It would be better if Disney had a tournament each year with different fan-written scripts and the fans vote for which script ends up being made into a show!
I have no idea what all these false stories are. It's nothing like the bad hype. It actually pretty good so far.
5:55 I’m pretty vernestra is talking about how the situation is different when the accused was Osha vs Mae. Not that Osha has already done something in the past, but that they thought Osha was the assassin and now they know she isn’t.
A gripe i had was all those jedi around and not one senses mae???

Nah its very meh, probably better than the last trilogy but only slightly
How is the Padawan ordering the Jedi knight around? Lol.
Once again Disney makes the black male character the comical relief, first Finn now Yord.
Also emasculated just like every other African descent male character in Disney. That's not coincidental.
And why is the Jedi Knight being an idiot all the time. I suspect a dark path for him is better suited because everyone bullies & ignores him.
@@kylehicks9018 Yeah, I am starting to see a pattern.

@@Exxperiment626 They like weak men and strong women, even Andor had some of this kind of messaging, it's just becoming too obvious now.

I’m just glad we get more Star Wars 🤷🏽♂️ show is cool it’s different for sure
In the comparison of Obi-Wan and Yord, Obi-Wan also at least had personality. All and all, I find Sol and the briefness of Carrie-Anne Moss to be the only small saving grace of this show and I want to see the rumored horrific episode three to witness for myself. With how badly they’re treating the fans and the rumors of what it’s going to do, I’m prepared to mourn for Star Wars.
I hope they introduce two dads like they did with two moms. I also hope they have a Jedi in a wheelchair or one with Muscular Dystrophy so it rounds out all representation.
Someone knows what coming in episode3-4🤣😂😈💯
Im think the guy in the mask is Qimir they have a similar cadence

Yeah it's definitely him
@@idiot_city5244 It's just too easy
They already i believe confirmed we won't really see any characters like Yoda and anyone that would be alive.
I have been told that Jedi doesn't need eyes to see, but in this episode it's enough to "blind" couple of them by throwing a bit dust in the air. Luke were training blind onboard Millenium Falcon wearing a helmet? Doesn't Jedi's training prepare them to use force to "feel" or "see" their surroundings? Also Yord followed Osha with his "sight" earlier in the episode, but nobody used that "sight" to see Mae midst of that dust and where she went? Jedi Master would have ended that fight right then and there.
The best line was "I will take the Ring to Mordor though I do not know the way" 😍😍😍
Can you not be brain damaged for attention?
I liked this because it was a new take on Star Wars, and it felt fresh and new. I’m tired of the typical zero to hero stories.
