  • A judge put Alec Baldwin's involuntary manslaughter trial temporarily on hold over claims from the actor's lawyers that the state withheld evidence that appeared in Thursday's testimony from a crime scene technician. Baldwin's team says the case should be dismissed because of that. Baldwin is charged in the 2021 shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the Western film set "Rust." Entertainment attorney Tre Lovell joined CBS News to discuss the trial.

Not so desperate, as the judge dismissed all charges with prejudice.

So many people on this set didn’t know how to handle a firearm! After this shooting & Helena losing her life, all actors need to learn how to handle firearms, which includes never pointing them at people, whether loaded or not! Unless that specific scene requires it & the gun has been triple checked. You always treat a firearm as though it is loaded. And anytime it is handed from person to person you always clear it.

So much for the CBS "expert" commentator saying he doesn’t think the charges would be dismissed. The judge dismissed all charges with prejudice, so the prosecutors can’t charge Alec again. The criminal case is over.

Did she ask to see the gun and weather it was loaded or not for herself ? If not it could be considered a lot of things. I don't know all the details whatsoever but just wondering. If I were her , I wanna check the gun. Plus this is CRS .

    Leave Alec alone

Irony---Alec has always bad mouthed us NRA members--If he had taken one of our many free gun safety courses, he would not have killed a wonderful young mother and he would not be going to prison.
