Geoff can spoof country songs with the best of them. Lost his truck, his dog, his girl and best buddy, and his home. He left out gettin' drunk and getting picked up by the local lawman.
Jennifer! Blue Christmas I'm familiar with. Geoff doing laundry. LOL ... I was going to comment on the shirt colors matching what he was singing ... nice touch, but you noticed it as well. LOL! Jen was fine with setting fire to the truck but giving the dog away, that went and done it! 😂 His folding skills get a little ragged there at the end. Oh and Kathy makes a cameo! Very nice ending to the song. Jen hope you have the merriest of Christmases and that 2024, which promises to be particularly exciting with all you have coming up, is everything you want it to be. Great reaction and analysis as always. 😊
Glad I'm not the only one eyeing the way he was folding his shirts! That is, when I wasn't looking at the nice, snug shirt he was wearing and thinking "Been keeping up with the push-ups, haven't you Geoff? Way to go!" And this rendition is just hilarious to watch people react to when the texts start unfolding.
It took me 3 watches to realize his and Kathy's laundry baskets change from blue to white at the very end. Ahhhhh so cute! He made a depressing Christmas song into something hilarious. A master of "take that frown and turn it upside-down." All the visuals were so spot on. I love when Geoff does Elvis or older country songs like 16 Tons. His voice is just so perfect for that classic style.
I'm so glad you picked up on the clothes matching the colours in the first verse. I don't think I've seen any other reactors catch on to that. I caught it the first time I watched it as well
Haha, I think we all had a moment of "Geoff...? You okay?" while watching this video through for the first time. But I do love his sense of humor, and I'm glad he doesn't take himself too seriously. And all the special moments he gets to add into his videos with Kathy- adorable! Those two are relationship goals, are they not? All of which has absolutely nothing to do with Geoff's glorious voice, but it's just what we expect of him by now. Despite it being not at all my favorite genre, I do love that Geoff leaned into the country music aspects of this song- from the pedal steel guitar in the background, to the little yodels and flips he included in his vocals, to the loss of his truck, his dog, his girlfriend and his best friend. We can only assume the poor man lost his job something in there as well. Probably after the truck. It's all genius, and that's just what Geoff is. I'm so grateful to be in a position to support him on Patreon, and enjoy the music (and videos!) that he creates.
Geoff has taken a lot of heat in this video for his clothes-folding skills - or lack thereof! But it's hard to blame a guy who lost his truck, his dog, his SO, his best friend, and his house - all in one song!
Merry Christmas to you and your's Jen! I hope Santa brings you the most wonderful gifts but after seeing how mischievous you can be I fear that you may only get a lump of coal. 😂😂😂
I love this cover so much, I think it is my favorite release that he has done this year besides Sound of Silence. I just love what he did with the arrangement and his voice is just perfect for this song😍 Thank you so much for the amazing R&A as always Jen!! Merry Christmas❤🎄
@@JenniferGlatzhoferthank you Jennifer for another great reaction to Geoff. I love watching your reactions. You're so much fun. I've always said that you can take the boy out of Virginia but you can't take the country out of the man. He always has a playful way with words. I love it whenever Kathy makes a cameo appearance in his videos.
So fun! Loved it! Glad he met someone new. I love his spoken voice. His reading of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow was amazing. Now I need him to read the night before Christmas. Thanks Jennifer. I love your channel.
Merry Christmas, everyone! :) "Blue Christmas" was first recorded in 1948 by Doye O'Dell, made famous by Country Singer Ernest Tubb in 1949. Elvis recorded it in 1957. Geoff's version is fantastic! :)
I was waiting for you to reach that spoken word section. It really makes the performance. I'm fairly certain that was his real wife at the end, reaching for the detergent. We saw just a bit of her in his 'Monster Mash' video a while back.
Great, that you managed to give us the video right before Christmas! 🥰 Thank you for all of your reactions & analyses this year, Jen! 🎶🔍 I'm looking forward, too how the journeys continue - those of Voiceplay and Geoff, but yours, too.🎤 I wish you and your family a nice Christmas, enjoy the holidays and then have a happy new year! 🎆🍾🥂 See you again in 2024 - Greetings from Germany!
Geoff went a little country on this one. Put in a little twang, texting about his truck, dog, and cheating girlfriend. The whole video is one big Easter egg. Kathy made a comment on her socials about Geoff folding Technik.
You can get an in-depth look at all the little easter eggs in the video, from Geoff not wearing his wedding ring as he usually does to one of the cameras in the background of the last shot, in Huldra Draco's excellent video here: ruclips.net/video/dxOGep2eiRI/видео.html Happy Christmas, Happy Boxing Day, and Merry New Year to you and yours!
Love your reaction and analysis! ONE OK ROCK, Japanese band, has a phenomenal vocalist, Taka, he covered *HELLO and Easy On Me - Adelle, he can sing it in original key* check them out!! I guarantee you'll be surprised by his unique voice!! Also check their original *Take What You Want - LIVE Tokyo Dome 2018!* their LIVE performances are always top tier. I'd really appreciate it! Thank you, and you'll thank me later
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉Jen. I have pointed out the colors of the shirts with the words before, but I have not seen (but I don't see everything) anyone else point it out.
Thing only couple better than Geoff and Kathy is my fiancée and me, but I might be a bit prejudice. Lady Jennifer, from Bethlehem, PA to you and yours, a very Merry Christmas. 🎅
👋Day #6 of requesting this until you eventually get around to it (if you wanna): I'd absolutely DIE for a vocal analysis of Given Up by Linkin Park (music video/studio vers). It has Chester Bennington's famous 💥17 second scream 💥 (which he has done live - not every single time, but most of the time). It's wild. I'd really recommend it. Thanks.✌🖤
Geoff can spoof country songs with the best of them. Lost his truck, his dog, his girl and best buddy, and his home. He left out gettin' drunk and getting picked up by the local lawman.
How can Geoff spoof country songs WITH the best of them when he IS the best of them?
There should have been a train whistle in the background 😂😂😂😂
Lol, they say in country music if you play it backwards you get them all back again .

Totally agree, Geoff needs some lessons in folding laundry, the look on your face on that last shirt probably mirrorred mine 😅

Ya have to give Kathy credit for doing this. That HAD to be Hysterical for them both to do. Great Post.
And after their hands touched, the baskets turned white!😊 Merry Christmas!
Grandgrandpa 72 here. Also watch, on the ending the two Baskets turn from blue to white.😅
Huldra Draco has made a wonderful video pointing out all the eater eggs in this video. :)
The more i think of it, I'd about swear when he said "holidays" that putting the emphasis on the last syllable was a very Elvis way of saying it. 🤔

This was one of my grandmother's favorite Christmas songs. I think she would have cackled over and loved Geoff's version. 😆
I was just thinking the same about my own dear mum.
Geoff has taken a lot of heat in this video for his clothes-folding skills - or lack thereof! But it's hard to blame a guy who lost his truck, his dog, his SO, his best friend, and his house - all in one song!
Love the best couple - enough so that the laundry baskets changed color when their fingers touched. Merry Christmas to you!
I love Geoff's sense of humor 🤣, and of course his voice! 🤯.
Merry Christmas, Jen!!
To my eye, the clothes looked folded better before he removed them from the basket... 😉
Merry Christmas to you and your's Jen! I hope Santa brings you the most wonderful gifts but after seeing how mischievous you can be I fear that you may only get a lump of coal. 😂😂😂
So much fun! Have a great Christmas!

Merry Christmas Jen. You’ve made my year brighter, and I thank you.
Besides singing, Geoff can act. He does dumb blonde with the best of them!

Geoff's terrible folding has become a thing of legend. but his Kathy origin story has overshadowed it!
I was waiting for you to reach that spoken word section. It really makes the performance. I'm fairly certain that was his real wife at the end, reaching for the detergent. We saw just a bit of her in his 'Monster Mash' video a while back.
It was his real wife Kathy :)
Yes, it is Kathy, his wife.

I get the impression that Geoff's tenor extension is actually just a really strong mix.

I agree, the folding was Jacked. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Merry Christmas!
Would love to hear Geoff and Tim do a couple country songs.
Have a wonderfully Blessed Christmas Jenn!
Hi Jennifer hope you are having an great and merry Christmas ❤
Merry Christmas everyone, from middle Tennessee! Love Jeoff’s solo songs! He’s so smooth! Merry Christmas Jen! Low bass Kenneth
Merry Christmas!😁
Oh, once again a song which brings back childhood memories. Different but as good as the Elvis interpretation I love.
hi merry christmas everyone.
If you play this song backwards, he gets his truck, his dog, his girl and his buddy back!
Yes, Jen, the folding was cringe, but the singing more than makes up for it. Love your reactions and have a Happy Holiday Season!
Merry Yuel, Jen. And a happy new year to you and your family.
I'd still like to see what you think of Home Free's "Cold Hard Cash". It's an original by Austin.
Did you see the basket color switch at the end? From gray to light yellow.

Wow, looking at the posts, a whole bunch noticed now. And the baskets at the end. LOL
I think it is safe to say that we know who folds the laundry at home...

5:10 did she just casually hit a subharmonic?
Sounds like normal vocal fry to me, but idk for sure
Pleeeeeease do some new PTX!!
