Geoff is something else. What you didn't realize in this video is that all of the backing vocals are also Geoff's. Most of his videos will feature him in multitude, so that it's more immediately clear that he is singing all parts. You're going to be shocked at how broad his range actually is.

The woman at the end of the video is his actual wife, Kathy and they are a very sweet couple. Not sure what your favorite genre of music is but as we are heading towards February I recommend his cover of Elvis Presley's Way Down and the Acapella group he is with, Voiceplay, did a cover of I Can't Help Falling in Love also by Elvis Presley

Geoff = Jeff. Castellucci = Cas tell oo chee. He is also one of the founding members of the acapella group, VoicePlay. He arranged this, directed and edited the video. EVERYTHING he does is top quality. If you are a Game of Thrones fan, you may want to check out his cover of The Rains of Castemere.

I love seeing people's first reaction to Geoff. His voice is something else! No one is ready for just how deep it is. His wife (at the end) is so lucky to have such a gentle giant of a man.

Rule one is you must wear headphones when listening to Geoff or his group he is a founding member of VoicePlay. We enjoy his sense of humor. His wife Kathy saves him at the end. Don't forget to listen to his group VoicePlay.

Welcome to the Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci Rabbit Hole. This and the Rabbit Holes fore his Accapella group ,Voiceplay, are well worth the trips.
This song was more Geoff singing in his more comfort zone. He has quite the range, 5 octaves. Did you notice at the end of the song when Geoff and Kathy (his real-life wife, and Productio Manager) touch hands the baskets change from a blue-gray to white 🥰
    Recommendations for Geoff Channel:
Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold (Hobbit Movie)
I See Fire (2nd Hobbit movie)
    16 Tons
    Ghost Riders in the Sky
    Folsom Prison
    Sound of Silence
    Voiceplay Recommendation:
    Nothing Else Matters by Metallica
Hoist the Colours (Pirates of the Caribbean 3rd movie)
    Hellfire (Hunchback of Notre Dame)
    Creep
    Golden Hour
Dragon Born Comes (Skyrim video game)
    Warriors
    Dream On
    7 Nation Army
So so many more! Enjoy the trips😅🤣😂

I was one of the people that suggested Geoff to you ❤ Thank you!! I’m sure you will watch more and see he also does all of the harmonies. You will also want to check out his acappella group VoicePlay where he is the bass singer. They are incredible as well!!

A friend sent me a link to him singing 16 Tons and I was hooked. He is the bass in the acapella group, Voiceplay. When Covid shut the world down and Voiceplay could no longer tour, he started doing solo work. He arranges, produces, films, and edits all of his work. He also does all of that for about half of Voiceplay's work. We could give you a list, but really everything for him and them is wonderful.
Subscribed in anticipation of more Geoff and Voiceplay!

Geoff has that effect on a lot of people. LOL. Clearly including his wife, Kathy-that’s her at the end, and check out the way they look at each other (❤).
Lots to enjoy with Geoff-both on this solo channel and with his group, Voiceplay.
Also, welcome to the bass landscape! Geoff is widely and justly regarded as one of the kings of bass singers, but also check out Avi Kaplan (Change on the Rise), The Bass Gang and all the members’ solo channels, and you can go from there down a hundred more rabbit holes.

I really enjoyed your reaction- thanks! Since you are new to Geoff and his dry, deadpan sense of humor you can see that in this video he is covering a depressing song Country music style with some twang and all of the stereotypes about Country music themes (loss of truck, loss of dog, loss of woman that did him wrong, etc). Geoff does all of his own arrangements, production and editing without a record label or contract so he is supported by his patrons and reinvents songs that are often suggestions from his patrons. He does like to end sad songs in a positive way as you can see by his character here meeting some nice new woman at the laundrymat. He and his acapella group, Voice Play, are very theatrical and Geoff (his name is pronounced like "Jeff Casta-lu-chee") has an amazing 5 octave voice range. I am not sure of your interests in music but I would recommend checking out the play lists on their channels for both 'Voice Play' and solo Geoff Castellucchi and picking something familiar that interests you to start- you won't be disappointed!

Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci (cast ta loo chee).
All of Geoff's videos are amazing. He has a 5+ octave range. Really high and really low.
The background vocals are all him as well. Usually in his videos with him but in this, Jack's Lament and Sound of Silence they were in the background.
He is independent. Which means he does everything himself from concept to RUclips and beyond. Except intricate make-up and audio mixing. And sometimes cameras. All decisions go through him and his beautiful wife Kathy, who was in this video at the end.
The names listed at the end are most of his Patreon members. The ones he shouts out are his highest tier Patreons.
To hear is range I recommend "I See Fire", "Jack's Lament" and "High and Dry".
For super low I recommend "Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold" which is the prequel to I See Fire. In both he is dressed up as 4 of the dwarves from the Hobbit movies.
His acapella group that he sings bass with is Voiceplay. They are also amazing.
They are also independent so do everything themselves. Geoff and beatboxer Layne Stein do all the arrangements.
Eli (like jelly) Jacobson does some arrangements as well. His latest is Creep. He is in charge of lighting. His tenor/rock tenor is out of this world.
Geoff and Voiceplay are known as both The Theater Kids of Acapella and The Kings of Halloween. Because of their love of dressing up and performing. Although Geoff uses instruments on his solo channel.
For them I recommend "Valhalla Calling", "Creep", "Nothing Else Matters", "in The Hall of The Mountain King", "Hide and Seek (Ding Dong)".

If you want to see him in a more theatrical video try "The Dragon Born Comes/Skyrim" or "The Wicked Medley" with his a Capella group Voiceplay, his tend to be simpler because it's just his wife and him as his production team most of the time but I think "Jack's Lament" is his most complicated video to date. Also any of Voiceplay's videos some more theatrical ,some just sitting on furniture singing. Both channels are full of fun, shenanigans and stunningly beautiful music.. #theaterkidsofacapella

Oh! I hope you don't mind, but here are some unofficial (but important!) rules for listening to Geoff/Voiceplay!
    The rules:
#1) VERY important! ALWAYS watch to the very end of the video, or at least a ways into the patrons scrolling. Often times it may LOOK like the video has ended, but there's an outro. Also, watching to the end lets you see their awesome cover art.
#2) Always leave the closed captions on. Geoff's wife Kathy (who is the woman at the end of this video, such an amazing woman!) has hearing loss, so sometimes there will be little hidden gems in the CC.
#3) If you pause a video to speak, rewind it ten seconds before you start it again, to make sure you don't miss anything.
#4) Don't look away from the screen, or close your eyes for more than a second, because, again, you might miss a visual gag or clever moment.
And #5) Don't go into their videos with expectations on what the song will be like, i.e., that it will be the same as the original. These guys put their own spin on things. The only thing to expect, generally, is to be blown away by their sheer talent.

LOL, not even 15 seconds to the video and Geoff (pronounced Jeff) makes you stop it on practically the first note with his awesome voice. I've never subscribed to someone so fast! Make sure you check out his group, Voiceplay too! For a "deep" (see what I did there) helping of Geoff, maybe start off with "Valhalla Calling" or "Hellfire" by Voiceplay, and for Geoff's "solo" work do "I See Fire" to get a full listen at Geoff's five octave range! (Is it still a solo if it's the same guy singing all five octaves?)
I look forward to watching you go down these rabbit holes! You'll most likely get a bunch new subscribers too, that always seems to happens to reactors who do Geoff, Voicplay and another fab A Cappella group, Home Free. Also, SUPER cool that you have so many books! A gal after my own heart!

Stupid reason to subscribe to a reactor's page. Anyway, just by what I saw of her, she's just a "flash in the pan" reactor, and this won't be a permanent thing for her. Move on!!

    • @DravenGal
      @DravenGal 7 месяцев назад

@@scottrogers7242 There's no need to be a jerk. If you don't like it, don't subscribe. I think she's sincere in her reactions, and has a decent amount of subscribers. And I subscribe when I sense a true appreciation for Geoff and/or Voiceplay, and I believe I won't be disappointed by her reactions. Even if she just does a few, I expect they'll be fun to watch. You don't, so leave. I don't expect you'll be missed. AT ALL.
