Whats exciting about Daredevil is he's Marvel's first street level vigilante. Guys like Cap, Tony and especially Thor wouldn't concern themselves with gangs, crime lords and other stuff thats not related to super-villians and other crazy shit currently happening in the MCU. Even cooler is Matt Murdock actually has a DISADVANTAGE considering he's blind and he's not as overpowered as Batman with oodles of resources. Damn I can't wait to lay eyes on this series.

Chris Duncan Thats not always the case. Explosions and other loud noises have weakened Daredevil which gave his enemies the upper hand. Daredevil is blind to anything he can't smell, touch or hear and he can be overwelmed by his senses in extreme circumstances.
What I love about the show is that the fight scenes don't make Daredevil out to be a perfect, untouchable fighter. He struggles even with the nameless goons which makes it that much more realistic and shows that his character flaws extend even to combat.

This is my favorite interpretation of Kingpin. This actor brings all the pathos, all the poison to the character. It's also nice that he resembles the role physically. I subscribed to Netflix because I wanted to watch Daredevil. I don't regret my decision at all. Waiting on baited breath for season 3.

The thing is now Criminals in New York City are going to have a hard time when there is man with heightened senses and ninja skills patrolling the neighbourhood at night, a woman with super strength and her unbreakable boyfriend, a deadly martial artist with a magic fist, a vigilante who kills people, a superhero who swings around all day and night protecting the city, a team of superheroes in a base on the outskirts of the city, a man in armoured suit and a skilled sorcerer. The MCU is getting bigger every year and I love it, now I want Spiderman and Daredevil to be in a movie together, I can only dream about it.

The problem with grim dark isn't the that it can't work. It's that the heroes themselves have to be gritty. Many street level heroes like, Batman, Green Arrow, and Daredevil, all fit because they often straddle the line between hero and anti-hero. The problem comes when trying to apply grim and gritty to character that are supposed to be pure heroic, like Superman, Flash, Thor, or Fantastic Four. Because to do so usually means changing their personalities. Captain America for example lives in a world full of terrorists, oppression, and government concperices. But the character himself is as light and pure as he was in the 50's.

Seeing Charlie Cox in the new Spider-man movie made me so happy. Daredevil was one of the most impactful super hero shows i've watched. Especially the third season reminded me of The Dark Knight's quality from time to time. That show deserved better and hopefully we'll finally get what we've been waiting for.

I don't understand why people can't just be fans of everything. I'm a comic-book fan to my core, I collect Marvel and DC. I love them both. They're both great in different ways. Aquaman and Wonder Woman are some of the best comics out right now.
luckily we're getting iron fist, it'll probably be out either this year or next, after defenders I think they should do punisher, it seems marvel is doing most the marvel knights in Netflix, so then they can have an R rating but still have a wide audience, since they know younger people from 12-16 want to watch but since with the movies they won't be let in and TV they'd have to show really late at night so this way they don't have to.

^^^^^ Fucking THIS I agree, Marvel's Daredevil on Netflix is likely the most worthwhile and well-composed live action adaptation of any comic book ever made. As you said, it's to do with quality writing, plotting, character development, casting and some wondrously talented work by the actors. For me, all of that just makes the badass occasionally mind-blowing cinematography and well-choreographed fight sequences icing on the cake.

This series had a heart and soul to it .Story line and the character development so gripping that it compels you to watch the one episode after another continuously. Charlie cox portrays the best version of daredevil ever. Action scenes are overwhelmingly realistic and choreographed and shot in the best possible way. It is a brilliantly executed series and the arch of characters are simply fulfilling to watch especially charlie cox character’s the Daredevil.

It makes sense Daredevil is dark and gritty, because he IS (in his best incarnations in the comics) a dark an gritty character. Much like Batman: nobody complained his films were dark and gritty, because it MADE SENSE. Now, when it comes to Superman? Going that dark and without fun? Doesn't make much sense, tonally, with the character. Plus, the script of MoS was terrible.

By far and away, the best MCU character. The entire cast, script, camera work, everything, has made Daredevil the greatest live action interpretation in the Marvel Universe. I look forward to the future, and hopefully Disney doesn’t destroy what’s already happened.

This is the kind of a superhero show I always wanted to see, dramatic, dirty, dark and focused on one villain. How I wish DC's Constantine were like this.
After almost a decade, NOTHING has been even attempted to be on this level.
@Baldedtoe, except the first season of Punisher. That was pretty damn solid too..but yes, when this came out I thought, things would get even better for Marvel shows. I was mistaken.

Seeing Charlie Cox in the new Spider-man movie made me so happy. Daredevil was one of the most impactful super hero shows i've watched. Especially the third season reminded me of The Dark Knight's quality from time to time. That show deserved better and hopefully we'll finally get what we've been waiting for.

I don't understand why people can't just be fans of everything. I'm a comic-book fan to my core, I collect Marvel and DC. I love them both. They're both great in different ways. Aquaman and Wonder Woman are some of the best comics out right now.

luckily we're getting iron fist, it'll probably be out either this year or next, after defenders I think they should do punisher, it seems marvel is doing most the marvel knights in Netflix, so then they can have an R rating but still have a wide audience, since they know younger people from 12-16 want to watch but since with the movies they won't be let in and TV they'd have to show really late at night so this way they don't have to.

I'm talking quality-wise. I'm not saying they have to be R rated. I just wish they would take the time to write a good script and make them look like actual movies. Instead of pumping out 3 or 4 of these mediocre cgi action movies every year just to expand the universe and make money.
I have 10 likes. Can you not count? Besides, it doesn't matter how many likes I have. I still am entitled to my own personal opinion. Personally I think practical effect and real stunts are better than cgi. I think good writing and character development is better than cheesy jokes and bad one-liners.

I agree, Marvel's Daredevil on Netflix is likely the most worthwhile and well-composed live action adaptation of any comic book ever made. As you said, it's to do with quality writing, plotting, character development, casting and some wondrously talented work by the actors. For me, all of that just makes the badass occasionally mind-blowing cinematography and well-choreographed fight sequences icing on the cake.
And now he's back in Spider-man 3 with Tom Holland. Daredevil is back.

This series had a heart and soul to it .Story line and the character development so gripping that it compels you to watch the one episode after another continuously.
Charlie cox portrays the best version of daredevil ever. Action scenes are overwhelmingly realistic and choreographed and shot in the best possible way.
It is a brilliantly executed series and the arch of characters are simply fulfilling to watch especially charlie cox character’s the Daredevil.
Marvel Fanboys: Man of Steel is too dark and has no fun like Marvel.

Frank Miller's Daredevil is dark and gritty, Man of Steel had Superman breaking guys necks for the sake of "hey, look what we did, we had Superman kill a guy. Isn't that cool and edgy?"
It makes sense Daredevil is dark and gritty, because he IS (in his best incarnations in the comics) a dark an gritty character. Much like Batman: nobody complained his films were dark and gritty, because it MADE SENSE.
Now, when it comes to Superman? Going that dark and without fun? Doesn't make much sense, tonally, with the character. Plus, the script of MoS was terrible.

For anyone doubting the canonicity of these shows particularly Daredevil, the daredevil character profile was officially updated and includes both the tv shows and nwh. Daredevil is canon and always was along with all the other tv shows, people just didn't realise it yet.
