@@skyflakes145 that's also a possibility as well. But I think that's just how she is, she also being called a god of fleeting moments too. She's bound to be forgotten. And the way she's forgotten is so natural.
It makes sense now as to why we don't receive any materials from eye of the storm except for artifact pieces rarely. Probably because Istharoth is supposed to ignored/abandoned/forgotten by the celestials and mortals.
i mean i feel like it drops nothing because its just concentrated anemo energy right, sort of like a hypostasis. it has the shell and everything but maybe something went wrong in forming it or its not as concentrated as hypos because its a ball and the shell is not fully formed
@@doplop You do have a point, but almost all the enemies drop something or the other specific materials. Except for eye of the storm and those electro and hydro flies we find in liyue and inazuma(there maybe more). These are the sus creatures rn, and since cat related the eye, maybe we can understand the logic behind no specific drops.
Btw the eye of storm is the only opponent that haven't got any variations so far. In short, its unique even though its anemo (there is no geo or electro variation).
@@pao-ulul7475 I think he is just telling how it doesn't have variation because it's unique phenomenon closely related to time and wind and not some elemental beings like vishaps or slimes that are of different elements.
fascinating how every region we go to.. links to mondstadt in one way or the other.. also in some quests traveler calls mondstadt as their home..it might not seem like it now but later mondstadt will have a very heavy role in lore i believe
Most characters that have a lore to be uncovered/continued is also from Mond. Diluc and Kaeya's story is yet to be finished, Albedo's whole lore is still a big question mark -also add Rhinedottir here-, we know nearly nothing about Klee's mother Alice, we know nothing about Grand Master Varka, Lisa is suspected to have a deeper lore connected to Celestia etc. Meanwhile Liyue and Inazuma characters are not really mysterious except Zhongli, Ei, Yae and Kokomi.
Now I'm kind of curious about the connection between Istaroth and Venti. Because if Istaroth is connected to the eye of the storm, it's interesting how the first time we meet an Eye of the storm in the story is when we are at the Barbatos statue in Windrise, and Venti says someone isn't happy to see him. And there's another eye of the storm blocking the statue near the winery.
Do you think that the area in stormterror's lair with the glowing water and the tree is like Venti's birth place lmao? It's such a random spot since literally everything else there is dead, other than some flowers and bushes.
@@Flyingkite98 on the left side of the lair theres this long crack on the ground. It has the tree in it. You can also try looking for the consecutive wind currents, it just below those things.
Theory: Teyvat has a destined fate, and Khaenr’ah somehow triggered Teyvat’s destiny to stray from its pre-determined course. Higher powers put constellations in the night sky for every vision bearer, before that person exists and long after they pass. These constellations determine that person’s destiny as well, and they are granted a vision to pursue that fate, and this allows Celestia more control over Teyvat and its future. Khaenri’ah using alchemy instead of relying on gods and visions somehow changed the path of Teyvat’s future, and so the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles was forced to step in and intervene (similar to the Time Variance Authority in the Loki series). If the Tsaritsa knows about Teyvat’s future and it is not a good one, then that would explain her plan to go to war with Celestia. And it would explain her morally-questionable means of doing so, if she knows that something bad is going to happen to Teyvat, then she can justify doing whatever it takes to stop that from happening
Kinda fits the honkai theme. In Honkai if a civilization reaches higher development, the Honkai too would also be born. A sort of counter to civilization. It fits if Celestia intentionally lays waste to civilizations in order to avoid spawning the Honkai.
Just want to point out something, everyone in teyvat has a constellation, not just vision bearers, La Signora had a constellation, abs she didn’t have a vision (she drank a potion that gave her the power of pyro, and had a cryo delusion) and Dottore does not have a vision, but has a constellation (as you can see by the image with all the fatui constellations around the fatui symbol)
It's called the "Hundred Eyed God" and the ceremony we stopped was for the confiscation of the.... You guessed it, THE HUNDRED VISION" which were also called god eyes in Japanese if I'm not mistaken
@@KamisatoElias XD well that's fair. I'll have to get into the details but for now I can say Diona's been blessed by the fairy in Springdale, which might be of interest to celestia? Because she can turn her questionable concoctions to majestic tasting substances.... Etc. Etc. I don't know much of Barbara though. Maybe she's got more going for her than we know but it's just a wild guess.
Also if you think about it, she could be the one giving visions. There is always a "moment" in a vision users life where their ambition turns into a vision and its "when the gods look upon them with favor". It says that the god of moments keeps part of those she looks upon with favor in this world, an example being sin shades. The shades are called sin shades though, so perhaps the missing thing that can trigger a vision is something deemed a 'sin'. The shades even had an ambition surrounding something like one might see a vision wielder. Perhaps visions are, in reality, here to mark 'sinners' or those who ambition poses a threat. I also would be surprised if sumeru didnt have a lot of lore or ties to the god of time considering time has repeated links/references to plants. BRANCH of time (tree of time/timelines?), SEEDS nurtured by time and in the time and wind quest if you look upon the sundials while using elemental sight you are able to see leaves appear for each ameno particles you disperse. Iirc there were 5 leaves on each dial.
*Wait...I just noticed 2 things.....first, the cecilia flowers have three big petals and its shape is similar to the "triquetra" symbols we see in domains. Second thing is, remember how they keeps saying Mare Jivari is a windless place? So, if its windless, does that mean, its not within the gaze of Ishtaroth and time/moments in that area may be different from other places???*
Could be tho, we don't know much about mare jivari Update: mare jivari is a domain very likely to be in Natlan. Its very unlikely that there will be any wind because of its heat since its a flaming hot lava river. However, mare jivari may be picked up from rio jivari which is or is a part of the Amazon River. And I've heard some theories that the Amazon River acts very differently than other rivers(idk ill probably get back on that)
@@vihakhanolkar8294 i saw a theory about how bennet is from natlan, because his hair, eye, and skin colour is identical to the unreleased natlan character from the trailer. plus he was found in a dangerous place as an infant and it may as well be mare jivari.
@@Hirusocool from what we know, the vision "frame" ornament/holder (or whatever it's called) has nothing to do with where you're from, but rather what nation you're living in- maybe even what nation you're living in when you get your vision specifically. to be honest, we don't even know if people get the ornament made after they get their vision gem, or if it is already there from the beginning. i believe it'll be the former, because thoma is from mondstadt and even grew up there, but he got his vision in inazuama (and is living there as of now), and his vision frame is of inazuma as well. i mean you can get your vision on a random moment in a random place, but it'd make sense to get the ornament made according to your current home nation design once you're back home.
Okay , this maybe far fetch but in chinese. There is a saying "人在做,天在看。" Meaning the "mortal doing is on the heavenly surveillance." Hence every doing is being record down.
What about the similarity between the Venti statues ( both Statue of Seven version and the giant one in Mondstadt) and the Omnipresent God? Wings, hood, etc. What if Istaroth eroded down to a mere wind spirit and then grew back into Venti? Gouba was once a Stove God. (Funny because stove as a noun is for cooking. Stove as a verb is the past tense of stave: to strike or ward off... so a stove god could be a god that was struck down.) Imagine if something happened to Xiangling (similar to the Unknown Bard) causing Gouba to grew in power to honor her memory...

I just wonder why in the 3 regions as far we know that they are not shocked of Paimon's appearance or is a flying fairy like human really that common in Teyvat?
I suspect its something in Paimon that do the job, making everyone just go "yeah a flying child. Totally normal". Idk, she didnt even talk about herself too much or too deep (usually just about food or childish thing), makes everyone even more unaware. She said she didnt remember anything before she got saved by traveller. Even if this is a lie, she cant talk about herself too much because of that. So she only talk abt something we know and never mentioned her appereance. Hence she fall as a mysterious characther but didnt felt wierd most of the time. Altough i cant say no one aware. Rosaria and Albedo have their sus tho. Traveler too once ask her "how can you suddenly disapear like that". Maybe even some people notice but didnt mentioned in purpose by the game.
@@althea7181 Paimon: doesn't remember anything before traveller saved her Also Paimon: acts as the traveller's guide and seems to know a lot of things regarding the world
I do think the statue is Istaroth too, but I'm not sure about the eyes of the storm. If they were Istaroth's hundred eyes I think we'd see them in Inazuma and Enkanomiya too. My theory is that they were created naturally from Decarabian's archon residue/resentment. It'd make sense for some to escape to Liyue since it's Mondstadt's neighbor and they could slip in, but Inazuma is way too far. We still haven't seen how Decarabian's death affected Mondstadt beyond fucking up the old Mondstadt's tower and leaving those permanent wind currents around, which seems pretty tame compared to other regions
@@SacrationOkay, I phrased it wrong. You're right, he ruled the nation yet there weren't archons yet. But residues of non-archon gods still affect the world so it's not wild to think his energy/resentment could have caused problems in Mondstadt territory 2600 years ago. Maybe not as eyes of the storm but something else
The amount of research, detail, editing and updating new ideas/theories you put up with these videos is beyond outstanding. I literally skip the quests for the most part because you explain them better to me(us). I can't thank you enough
I would be curious if the design of the statue is based on the description of Istaroth or based on what Ei remembers them looking like when they met if they ever did. The former seems more reasonable since most people seem unfamiliar with or do not recognize the Archons in the forms we see them in.... Still, while it seems weird to me to make a statue of someone you know, this was also someone very, very important, so maybe it makes sense for Ei to revere or even hope to appease Istaroth. I am thinking of statues of famous rulers, religious figures, etc. It is not unheard of...
You missed one thing. Raiden Weekly Boss has many links to this statue - halo behind her is in almost the same shape as wings of the statue, in her design she has also many eyes and many arms which match the name "Statue of the Thousand-Armed, Hundred-Eyed God".
If it wasn't for the wings argument, I might even add a small theory(? Going off very little evidence here) The three moon sisters represent the three shades of Phanes, and Istaroth is the dormant moon we see in Teyvat's sky (or in the spiral abyss, whichever you prefer). It's mostly because once again, the design of the Welkin Moon is eerily similar, and the thousands eye wings are hinting at another biblical category of angel (I forgot which one, just know that it's not a throne). The Wind and Time quest also had a -lunar- quadrant, not to mention that if she really was in Mondstadt at some point in history, she was involved with the Moon City quite literally.
also did you notice that, that welkin moon person is very symilar to Paimon? there has also been theories that Paimon was actually one of the three moon sisters and that the moon we see, which appears to be a corpse, is Paimons body. There has also been theories of Paimon being Istaroth since she was fished near the island of time
I had my fair share of guesses of who the statue could be representing, and ofcourse god of time was one of them, now that we know Celestia doesn't like time(as you explained in the previous video) so I'd call it the statue of time shade!
OMG YOURE INTO SOMETHING HERE... ISTAROTH MAKING VENTI SLEEP SO ISTAROTH CAN PREPARE AND SAVE VENTI AT THE SAME TIME . IMAGINE WE GOT TO SEE ISTAROTH AND VENTI TOGETHER IN THE GAME IN THE FUTURE THAT WILL BE SOOO COOL.
Wow. The creators of the genshin lore really put a LOT of thought into this. I hope Mihoyo consider adding past event story and world quests as permanent things. It sucks when new players missed a lot of these. Ill create a new account and play this game again once the 7 nations is finished. That time, I'll treat it as a full rpg game and i hope traveller can switch element instantly so that it's possible to play this game as solo traveller.
This video made me remember Inazuma's archon quest when Thoma got captured and they were about to make a ceremony for confiscating the 100th vision, or the "hundredth eye" I'd say?! And the celebration makes me wonder if that means Raiden was about to "awaken" or "activate" something has to do with the statue.
Another thing I think is interesting is that ‘hundreds of eyes and arms’ is something that you typically see in descriptions of angels istaroth to some is heavily believed to have been one of the moon goddesses of the seelie seelies have always been described to have heavenly appearances and have many similarities to angels like how they watched over humans like guardian angels, sing and are forbidden too falling in love ( it’s actually a common troupe of guardian angels falling in love and causing war to happen between the heavens and hell or humans even outside of genshin) I think this could be considerd another tie to that theory Another thing is Raidens attacks, her hold attack becomes a clear and intentional, symbol of the moon. Raiden herself seems to have ties with the moon sisters beyond that which I can’t recall atm and I’ve always wondered why but this theory and the istaroth = moon goddess theory would make raidens case make a lot more sense.
I think it would be interesting if Paimon was Istaroth. Since Istaroth basically has the ability to preserve the consciousness of a being (to a certain extent) to anyone she takes interest in, it could open up some very interesting story possibilities if Paimon were Istaroth
I used to think that too especially due to the fact that we fish out _unconscious_ Paimon from the direction of the Nameless Island but i discovered while researching on some demonlogy materials that Istaroth and Paimon are two different demons entirely while Istaroth has reference to time like in game, demon Paimon is notorious for his ways of manipulation and giving vague information to his victims (basically how our paimon gives info to our traveler). So don't think paimon is Istaroth as Havria (salt god), osial, orobas etc are also among 72 demons(gods) yet they are their own people.
i also think that we fishing her had to do with the rebirth of a new moon or something like that idk, but it said in a video smth similar. that might explain why she is so dam small
If you guys also notice. There's no statue in liyue.. other than the small statues of Morax. There is no large statue with wings or anything that depicts a god on liyue....
from what i heard from chinese traditions(liyue), statue is for people that already pass away. u can find yaksha statue there build by liyue people, but not rex lapis (statue of the seven is not build by people. maybe by the archon them self)
before retiring Rex lapis used to always come down and see his people. usually statues are there to remind people of someone's existence. since Rex lapis used to be very involved in the people of liyue's lives (he guides the people, telling them what and what not to do directly) they really wouldn't need a statue of him. as the case for barbatos, he hasn't appeared before his people for hundreds of years and for the people to remember and honor his existence they had built a statue of him..
Just a wild theory here, but the reason why the statue of Istaroth looks similar to the welkin moon girl is because they are separate entities but related, by which both of them are one of the three Moon Sisters, which comprises of 3 of the 4 shades, with the last shade being Phanes. Paimon's hair similarity may also be because shes the 3rd sister, or a fragment of her (Paimon literally controls time by being able to move around while the menu is paused).
YOOOOO MY THEORYYYYYYYY IM SO GLAD U LIGHTEN UP THIS I ALWAYS HAD SPECULATIONS ABT IT BUT NEVER THOUGHT TO ACTUALLY SHARE IT SINCE I THOUGHT IT WAS A COINCIDENCE BUT MAN I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE HER NECKLACE LOOKS LIKE THE EYE OF THE STORM
That is because there is translation error in english version so they removed the voice over until they fix it. The correct translation should be perhaps a higher power involved... instead of perhaps Makoto got a higher power...
@@Alicia1967-j7i yep. The previous translation kinda implied that Makoto had an access to Istaroth's power (some players had already assumed it this way). The new one makes it sound like it was only Istaroth's doing
Maybe thousand-armed and hundred-eye represents the puppet's Migatsu Mitake Narukami No Mikoto form. For thousand armed, she contructs 4 arms and 1 set of hand, and hundred-eye represents the thing that i think its safe to say that its a set of eye (because the pattern matchs with the statue's necklace) that is on the palm of the hand under her (the brown hand), and we can see another 2 set of eyes (again, im not sure if its eye or not) in the arm that hold the katana
but then again... why did the eye of the storm came to attack(?) venti? If he was one of Istaroth's thousand winds? Dont get me wrong I approve of this theory hehe. I just wonder why.
Maybe because Venti kinda switched sides when he became an Archon. After all, Istaroth is a shade of Phanes, the Primordial One, that was apparently dethroned by Celestia when they arrived from another world, introducing humans into Teyvat. Imho, Archons are beings originating, aligned with Phanes and the Light realm, but had to accept a deal with Celestia to protect Teyvat from an all-out conflict. Venti is an elemental spirit, Zhongli is an adepti (the dragon one). As for Raiden, the fact that her closest friends were respectivly a tengu, an oni, and a kitsune might indicate that she is, in fact, a youkai. In other words, Archons are probably elemental beings that swore to protect humanity against their own, untamed, kin.
@@vihakhanolkar8294 I don't think so. Adepti are benevolant toward humans, but it could be due to Zhongli's influence. The fact is that for a long time, Adepti basically ruled over humans, which means that they were not considering humans as equals. During the Archon quest, there are tensions between the Adepti and the Liyue Quixing over how would lead humans. Adepti are not by nature the protectors of humans, they're divine beasts, and they became Liyue's protectors...by contract.
Something doesn't quite add up for me. If The primordial one and the second one had a fight that destroyed everything, that caused for a civilization reset and Enkanomiya sliding into the Abyss. The second one is responsible for Celestia, then why would there still be an Istaroth statue? I understand if she helped the people from Enkanomiya, that falls outside of the Teyvat concept, unless she pledged to the second one. It's a yaldabaoth like story, with a sprinkle of Evangelion. Also, my guess is that the second one is actually Paimon. And that the unknown goddess had to put herself through a similar fate as Guoba, hence why the Guoba story was so important. She had to split the twins up, since she knew she couldn't let them go. What better way to deal with this issue than to attach yourself to one of the siblings. I'm guessing we're going to see an event down the road where Guoba regains some memories.... as a setup for what happens later with Paimon.
@@thecrankyoldman no we don't really know who are the shades. some speculates that asmoday is one of the shades yet she is part of celestia? Who knows maybe the four shades help celestia to over threw the primordial god Still early to speculate but who knows maybe they betray primordial god?
Hundred eyed also lines up with the quest "Stillness, the Sublimation of Shadow" where Raiden celebrates the seizing of the 100th Vision, also known as the "Eye of God"
I am starting to wonder if the visions are Istaroths doing as well...In japanese they are called "eye of god"...and if Istaroth is the thousand armed, hundred eyed god and the visions are the eyes... that would match up.. Wait... I just realized! Istaroth is the shade of the first god that came, and the enemy of the second god. If the second god won against the first god (which seem very possible since the Celestian gods wanted Orobaxi dead after he learned the truth about Enkanomiya), then they may be the current rulers in Celestia... What if Istaroth is trying to raise a rebellion with gods made from humans with the help of visions? But Celestia knows this and jails almost all new gods unless they swear allegiance to them? And that is why we see a jail like place when we look into Celestia in the manga? That could be why Vennessa was allowed to take the form of a falcon/eagle and protect Mondstadt...They seem to like making deals considering they made deals with Zhongli and Orobaxi... And the reason why the Eye of the storms were pissed that Venti, was because even though he was born of the thousand winds, he aligned with the second gods gnosis system... this would align a lot of things...
The statue represents Ishtaroth and I believe she's also one of the three moon sisters. This would make Paimon and The welkin moon girl the other two sisters. This also goes together with Ishtaroth being one of the four shades. Possibly three moons and one sun. Leaving phanes as the sun. Which would make sense.
Now I think about it, this explains why a Eye of the Storm attacked Venti when we encountered him at Windrise. It thinks that Barbatos is betraying his duty to preserve the memories of Istaroth.
Lets go for a ride, maybe Istaroth is the one giving visions to people. So that necklace also heavily resembles oculi, which also has the "eye" related theme and are expected to be present in all regions of Teyvat (the thousand eyed god). We also expect oculi of each element to exist. It is as if Istaroth can manipulate each abundant element in the region for the oculi to be present". It is also related to the light element that is theorized to be used by Istaroth and alike, and hinted in the game tip that suggest elements to be like a rainbow, born from light. Visions are ambitions engraved in that physical object that can be preserved for quite a long time, even after death as we saw with kazuhas friend. When a person loses their vision, their ambition fades as well, as if their ambition never happened. I lack references for how the characters got their visions, but it seems like every one got theirs by random. It is like that moment of inspiration was to be preserved. We already know that archons do not know how visions work as well, and they are not the ones handling them to people. Istaroth, on the other hand, could manipulate ligh element, and has a thing for eyes. She could be the one preserving the ambitions of people in the visions, so that moment could exist forever and their inspiration never fade. The reason may be related to celestia, and how ilegal it seems to be to manipulate time in any other way. Visions are more related to celestia than any other thing anyways and it could be that they are using Istaroth as a medium for that purpose.
It's pretty obvious that the Anemo symbol looks like the wings of the One Thousand-armed, One Hundred-Eyed God The battle-pass icon also looks like it- and so does the statue of the Welkin Moon. Sure, both of those have primogems, not eyes, at the centre, but primogems have been equated with eyes before. The field tillers/ruin guards have primogem eyes, and Kaeya, Dainsleif, and the Unknown God have primogem pupils. The snake from the Battle Pass story's eye turns into the symbol as well. The distance between standing on the hands of this statue and sitting on the hands of the Anemo Archon statue in Mondstadt is exactly 6666m
2:46 "Whenever the "God of the Moments" looks upon someone at some point with favor, their feelings and memories will forever remain in this world." Sounds like ley lines, the only difference is that the leylines' memories does not remain forever.
If that's true, and Venti and Ei really had a connection with Istaroth, the god of time, maybe that will explain why the anemo and electro hypostasis is in mondstadt, where her temple is.
In CN, JP and KR every single Archon from Barbatos to Havria are all called 魔神, Demon God, based on the 72 Demons of Solomon. However Istaroth is only known with the title of 大神, Great God, suggesting she is indeed a different tier or group of god. Her title of Omnipresent God is 常世大神, which means God of all Reality. I don't think she has anything to do with the element of wind, it's just a metaphor for how she is the passing of time that shapes all of reality.
I do think paimon is istaroth. As she is never frozen when we stop the game or even if we change time. As she was fished near the sealed time god location and its well positioned too cause we start the in game time from there so its like a new timeline start thats why paimon is in a child’s form. Moreover her claiming she will be a travel companion and explain everything to us even though starting the journey of this world with us might mean she has fragmented memory from past thats why she tells us about teleport points and statue of seven, and the biggest of them all being to touch the statue to gain power. And Venti being carefree as he is, his relations with his friends would be really casual and of a fun nature maybe thats why venti fools around with paimon in quest.
What if mondstadt will share the same faith as khaenriah. After all lumine did go to khaenriah first and it is her home just like we aether or traveler went to mondstadt and think of it as our home. So maybe in the end, the final act we will need to save mondstadt the thing lumine couldn't do. Maybe lumine's journey was similar to ours and only difference will be the final act. After all we are all in a samsara.
AS A FUN FACT:- the eye of storm has no other elemental variant except the anemo basic and it is the only enemy that never drops any kind of farming materials
What if Barbatos is Istaroth him/herself. Wind and time both have connections to venti. The most mysterious god, his statue is is the gateway to Celestia, Celestia is closest to his nation (mondstatd), knows song from past, present and future (he said this somewhere in the game dialogue) which kinda hinted him having relation to time. Also his ascension materials need Cecelia flowers.
Will Istaroth be a playable character in the coming years? XD Raiden's story quest in this 2.5 patch really is a treasure trove of lore, but ngl it was a little disappointing to see Makoto as just a "purple electro sphere" when there were ghosts in their full forms in other quests. But it's understandable since Makoto, an archon, was already dead when Ei reached that place and had to preserve the remaining will and consciousness before they could completely disappear.
i know this is not related into the video but i have another theory abt venti,ya'll remember abt venti story quest?(that one we need to unlock it with keys) so in the story quest we met stanley,he has an imaginary friend which is his own old friend that doesn't make it in mare jivari, in the story quest stanley says that he uses his old friends name to refers his amazing things he done, and venti says that he also uses his old friend name's (nameless bard) to represent him, so... maybe the nameless bard name is venti? (srry abt my english)
I usually like your theories, but the most crucial points in this are kind of reaches. That statue could easily just be a stylized statue of Makoto. I doubt Ei ever saw Ishtarot in person, let alone have any reference to make a statue of her.
Not related to the vid but what if paimon was also one of the gods in celestia? What if she was against the destruction of khaenriah and was cast out from celestia? Her powers removed and memory erased and coincidentally the traveler finds her? Or maybe it's just my imagination😂
This is literally telling me that the whole journey is going to be like those old jrpgs where the "final boss" is gonna appear in the 1st town, drawing the whole journey in the map to a full circle, before finally facing them in their realm. Also, when you use the *elemental sight in the nameless island, the center circle (where the eye of storm appears) will be white - like those breakable rocks. When i 1st went there, i literally plunged in different times of the day because i thought the clue - the arrow on the sundial - is pointing at an entry point. 😅
I think it's a good thing to mention that Istaroth is the god of moments which means her Reign or domain of time is more like the present moment the passing moment or the moment in the future and not time in a whole and so there's still an opening for more gods of time. And also helps realize how the Thunder Sakura was growing in blooming just at the right moment in time Istaroth might of had a connection to that.
"Time Flies by When Contemplating Life, the Universe, and Everything" a quote from loading screen.. Isnt this related to God of Time/Moments as a way of how time flows?
Just wanna add that i've inspected all the ruins across teyvat, and the white, round marble pillars found in an area of mond near the Cecilia garden is very unique. In addition to some unique architecture found only in stormterror's lair, some areas of liyue, and enkanomiya, all the other ruins from mond to dragonspine to liyue and narukami have the same designs.
It’d be interesting if when Venti had to rest from their fight with Durin, they actually didn’t make it, and Istaroth has been parading around in the “shell” of Venti.
Hmm in the v5.6 Honkai trailer we see Aponia who is from a place in honkai which has a similar resemblance to clestia. Her design matches with the statue of the Omnipresent God [with the hood and hair]. Most people are saying she looks like the person in the welkin moon because both have a primogem on their chest so maybe the welkin person is the statue? The only thing is what the video said that doesn't link with this theory is the necklaces being different.
this is so well done!! the lore is amazing and im glad your channel can theorizes on it so thoroughly since i find the game likes to make sure it is kept very hidden, or at least obscure until we get more quests/regions released. and who knows how long it’s going to take. but thanks to you it really seems more accessible :)
My theory out of nowhere: Venti was a moment of Istaroth that evolved that she created (to take care of Mondstadt?). A branch that eventually grew into a drunk bard
It's possible that all these statues represent one being, they were sculptured base on the image the owner wanted them to be in, so there are going to be differences compared to the original being. It's like 10 people having a dream about a second coming of Christ, It's completely possible all ten people will have a similar description of Christ but also have varieties, some may say he had a armband, while others will say a chain, etc.. (This is just an example.) So my take is, these statues are based on Istaroth after she revealed herself in dreams but her appearance was recollected differently, except the obvious. Which are, she had a hood on, her hair was talk and flow down from the cheeks to her neck, wings and she had "a" symbol (necklace) on her chest, (not a specific necklace, but they remember her having something on her chest.) If you look at the Omnipresent Statue and the statue that's theorized to be Venti in mondstat (which I believe it's not), they have the same design with discrepancies ofcourse, but like I explained they we built base on the image that person remembered of her, a hood, tall hair running on the sides of her cheeks, "a" necklace, wings... It's not just coincidences...
Hei, CatWithBlueHat, i love your theory. I always follows and watch your theories all this time. Btw, around February 24, Genshin made an update about a certain sentence in Raiden Shogun Story Quest 2. The change is about Makoto who have the power thanks to Istaroth (before) to Istaroth have a really big power to make that (time changing thing) happen, and its to help them (im not sure what its said in english since i read it in my mother language). Its a really big change i think, that makes me suspicious about that
There is one thing with venti and cecilias tho. Didnt venti get his current form from that one friend that died when decarbian was being overthrown in the old mondstadt?
Also, something I’ve noticed, Eye of storm doesn’t have any kind of special drops ingame (yeah it will sometimes drop 4* artifacts) but it doesn’t have any kind of drops like Abyss Mages,Fatui’s etc.
There might be a total of 1000 eye if storms in tevyat. Is there a reason why inazuma has no eye of storm? Weird the one place where there is a statue of istaroth, there is no eye of storm.
I feel like there's some connection we don't yet understand between the Istaroth, the Primordial God & the travelers for a few reasons: 1. In the scene where the Unknown God attacked the travelers, the gold part of their wings closely resembles the winged eyes on the statue that the visions are inlayed upon, if you stacked them on each other. (winged-eyes are also found on the domain murals) 2. It would also make a little more sense why Lumine said "we have always had enough time" to Aether. 3. If there is something to the gold symbol on their wings resembling the winged eyes on the statue & therefore a connection between them & that God, then maybe, just maybe, that's why the traveler is able to connect with all of the different visions at once during the 2nd battle against Raiden & all of the elements (primordial god relation for this one). Another thing I wanted to touch on (copy & pasted from an earlier comment of mine)- Paimon's sleeve & boot cuffs are the exact same design found cupping the bottom of the archon statues. It'd been bugging me for the longest time, I knew I'd seen her sleeve design somewhere before. If that design was found on only the Mondstadt archon statue, that would've led me to believe in a stronger connection between her & the god of time (potentially being her), but when I found the same design on all of the archon statues regardless of which one or their region, I knew that didn't tie her to just the god of time's statue. That's when it made me think she has a higher role or some other celestial relation I can't connect yet. Realizing all this got me curious & I went searching for if anyone else had noticed the similarities between her design & the archon statues & it led me to a reddit link that made so many details fall into place. There are still so many plausible theories out there, but this is one I feel not many people have thought about bc in the entire game we scarcely hear anything, even a mention, regarding the artificial God Khaenri'ah had attempted to create so it's the farthest thing from our minds, but it's actually a very compelling theory. This person's theory would also help make sense of another design feature on Paimon that I'd been wondering about. Why is Paimon the only place that a dot shows up in the center of a triquetra in the entire game? A dot cannot be found in a single other triquetra in the game & the dot present in the triquetra when used in the Holy Trinity symbolizes God. Though, I'm still not sure what the 3 little marks below her triquetra are supposed to represent. Here's the reddit link: Link: www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Lore/comments/mzegq8/a_possible_origin_for_paimon_14_archon_quest/
the thing that made me believe it's istaroth is that "the ruler of the unchanging world" is one of her names what other reason for her statue being in inazuma, if not to symbolize the 'eternity' shogun pursues/pursued
Well i noticed this already. The statues in both Inazuma and mondstadt are of Istaroth. (yeah the one in mondstadt looks like venti, but he is probably born off of Istaroth). also, the reason liyue doesn't have a statue, is because rex lapis didn't have a story/an affaire with Istaroth, at least not directly. We'll see of sumeru has a statue or not and if the lore is connected to Istaroth. Even tho i don't think so.
Not only are the eyes of the storm istaroth’s creations, but I believe that they were used to keep an eye on time. They are literally Called EYE of the storm and are only found near the temple of a thousand winds. As well as that I think that like a gnosis Paimon could be used to unintentionally keep an eye on the traveller for celestia

Idk why but I remember what Paimon said in the beginning, "Paimon, want you to go there (Mondstadt) and there's a reason why..."
Probably she is a relative of barbatos, maybe the mother ( ishtaroth is the mother of all winds, venti is a spirit of one of the winds... so 2+2=4)
Well it kind of undirectly says that she is venti Mother (i can be wrong tho)

Fate is called as such, for it cannot be changed, nor can it be reversed. It can only but be accepted. -Mona

Kinda fits the honkai theme. In Honkai if a civilization reaches higher development, the Honkai too would also be born. A sort of counter to civilization.
It fits if Celestia intentionally lays waste to civilizations in order to avoid spawning the Honkai.

It'd make sense for some to escape to Liyue since it's Mondstadt's neighbor and they could slip in, but Inazuma is way too far.
Going off very little evidence here)
The three moon sisters represent the three shades of Phanes, and Istaroth is the dormant moon we see in Teyvat's sky (or in the spiral abyss, whichever you prefer).
There has also been theories of Paimon being Istaroth since she was fished near the island of time
but phanes had four shades?
I had my fair share of guesses of who the statue could be representing, and ofcourse god of time was one of them, now that we know Celestia doesn't like time(as you explained in the previous video) so I'd call it the statue of time shade!

Another thing I think is interesting is that ‘hundreds of eyes and arms’ is something that you typically see in descriptions of angels istaroth to some is heavily believed to have been one of the moon goddesses of the seelie seelies have always been described to have heavenly appearances and have many similarities to angels like how they watched over humans like guardian angels, sing and are forbidden too falling in love ( it’s actually a common troupe of guardian angels falling in love and causing war to happen between the heavens and hell or humans even outside of genshin) I think this could be considerd another tie to that theory
Another thing is Raidens attacks, her hold attack becomes a clear and intentional, symbol of the moon.
I mran aether regained some of hsi memmorys like on how to fight how to fish and some memmories on how he got there

@@xeacarons lmao that sounds as if she's evil, that's interesting
i also think that we fishing her had to do with the rebirth of a new moon or something like that idk, but it said in a video smth similar. that might explain why she is so dam small
It's bad omen to build a statue for a living person.

This really makes sense. In the nameless island,it was mentioned that the god of time and god of wind has connections
Just a small detail, To unlock the Dawn Winery statue of the seven. You had to defeat an eye of storm. Like the statue was being protected or som
but then again... why did the eye of the storm came to attack(?) venti?
Maybe it's because someone is making Venti in danger, not so sure though
@@myhr2320 when you say the archons had to go against their own kind, isn't zhongli an exception?
@@myhr2320 so based on what you're saying, makoto and ei are most likely Raijus if they are some kind of youkai
I hope there is a cutscenes or specific story quest in the future updates that reveals more about Istaroth.
One thing that I cannot forget about Venti bc I saw it in a promotional banner before about him was he was called as the "Prodigal Son", whose son?
I'm guessing we're going to see an event down the road where Guoba regains some memories.... as a setup for what happens later with Paimon.
the statue is prob istaroth but since no one in teyvta knows abt her other than she's a god then its prob fine

Hundred eyed also lines up with the quest "Stillness, the Sublimation of Shadow" where Raiden celebrates the seizing of the 100th Vision, also known as the "Eye of God"
hi, i loved to enjoy ur videos and how u combine storytelling, music, visualization, and all, to please our eyes and ears
Venti was one of the 1000 kids of her befor becoming the anemo archon
2 years late and i haven't even started the video yet but I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that that thing looks the the eye of the storm
Paimon’s voice sounded more mature or normal back then rather than squeaky-ish as it is now
It was the director's decision. Probably to reserve the mature voice for when Paimon got her original form back
The statue represents Ishtaroth and I believe she's also one of the three moon sisters.
It's pretty obvious that the Anemo symbol looks like the wings of the One Thousand-armed, One Hundred-Eyed God
The battle-pass icon also looks like it- and so does the statue of the Welkin Moon.
2:46 "Whenever the "God of the Moments" looks upon someone at some point with favor, their feelings and memories will forever remain in this world."
Sounds like ley lines, the only difference is that the leylines' memories does not remain forever.
Celestia is known for attacking ley lines. Who's to say that the leylines weren't once upon a time eternal?
@@namastereciprocity4549 and probably the reason why dungeons with leylines seem to look broken
It also makes sense why ei chose to build her statue to honour her previous idols, cus she clearly sees istaroth as a higher power
There's a new PV released in HI3rd. It featured Aphonia. She has the very similar design to the welkin moon.
If that's true, and Venti and Ei really had a connection with Istaroth, the god of time, maybe that will explain why the anemo and electro hypostasis is in mondstadt, where her temple is.
there is a very small chance that the statue represents either of the 2 other gods of time. we dont know anything about them, though...
Eye of the storm. Makes sense because "I am the storm that is approaching".
I think stealing others power is traveler bulit in talent. Like when went inside ei plane of enthymia thing traveler used powers by himself
@@saiavabel6076 oh yea, that could be the case.

Normally genshin lore videos grasp at so many different straws, but I’ve got to say it; this video was really well put together. Good job!
Holy shit this makes a lot of sense you are indeed a genius Mr.Bluehatcat
I have always think that the statue has similar features with Venti. So thats has a reason
XD
Raiden's story quest in this 2.5 patch really is a treasure trove of lore, but ngl it was a little disappointing to see Makoto as just a "purple electro sphere" when there were ghosts in their full forms in other quests.
The Nameless Bard is Venti
I usually like your theories, but the most crucial points in this are kind of reaches.
That statue could easily just be a stylized statue of Makoto.
I doubt Ei ever saw Ishtarot in person, let alone have any reference to make a statue of her.
I've always thought the statue looks awful lot like lumine. I hope the twins or at least lumine is directly related to the Shades
this is amazing! Your level of detail was incredible! Awesome video!
Istg if you're living in Tevyat you'd be a Vision holder rn, maybe Dendro. Cuz, you know, you're f-ing smart, dude.
Love your videos, it opens my mind much deeper
My theory out of nowhere: Venti was a moment of Istaroth that evolved that she created (to take care of Mondstadt?). A branch that eventually grew into a drunk bard
It's possible that all these statues represent one being, they were sculptured base on the image the owner wanted them to be in, so there are going to be differences compared to the original being.
It's like 10 people having a dream about a second coming of Christ, It's completely possible all ten people will have a similar description of Christ but also have varieties, some may say he had a armband, while others will say a chain, etc.. (This is just an example.)
So my take is, these statues are based on Istaroth after she revealed herself in dreams but her appearance was recollected differently, except the obvious. Which are, she had a hood on, her hair was talk and flow down from the cheeks to her neck, wings and she had "a" symbol (necklace) on her chest, (not a specific necklace, but they remember her having something on her chest.)
If you look at the Omnipresent Statue and the statue that's theorized to be Venti in mondstat (which I believe it's not), they have the same design with discrepancies ofcourse, but like I explained they we built base on the image that person remembered of her, a hood, tall hair running on the sides of her cheeks, "a" necklace, wings... It's not just coincidences...
This statue is Kaedehara Kazuha or Kazuha mother. observed from his constellation. he has wing behind maple leaf. 🍁
1:40 An elder god? Raiden must be having a field day
Hei, CatWithBlueHat, i love your theory.
The outfit is different. He looks like his old friend but doesn't dress the same.
This is one of the most interested videos about genshin lore i have seen so far
Also, something I’ve noticed, Eye of storm doesn’t have any kind of special drops ingame (yeah it will sometimes drop 4* artifacts) but it doesn’t have any kind of drops like Abyss Mages,Fatui’s etc.
Miko seems to know something about Istaroth
There might be a total of 1000 eye if storms in tevyat.
Is there a reason why inazuma has no eye of storm?
Weird the one place where there is a statue of istaroth, there is no eye of storm.
Thanks for making this! Goodluck for making another video
I feel like there's some connection we don't yet understand between the Istaroth, the Primordial God & the travelers for a few reasons:
1. In the scene where the Unknown God attacked the travelers, the gold part of their wings closely resembles the winged eyes on the statue that the visions are inlayed upon, if you stacked them on each other. (winged-eyes are also found on the domain murals)
Another thing I wanted to touch on (copy & pasted from an earlier comment of mine)-
Paimon's sleeve & boot cuffs are the exact same design found cupping the bottom of the archon statues.
Here's the reddit link:
Link: www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Lore/comments/mzegq8/a_possible_origin_for_paimon_14_archon_quest/
in albedos trailer in the part where he talks about time and being, there is a cecilia shown to represent time ??
You reminded me that Eye of Storm exists. Poor guy gets forgotten
It is supposed to be a part of God Of Time and she has been forgotten by most people.
the thing that made me believe it's istaroth is that "the ruler of the unchanging world" is one of her names
what other reason for her statue being in inazuma, if not to symbolize the 'eternity' shogun pursues/pursued
Hey, there's a dialogue in Traveler's profile that sounds promising to me. Paimon said that even herself doesn't know how she flies...💀💀
