This is so real, raw, honest and so so so beautiful. Yes. It’s so important to be kind to ourselves because this literally a journey, with stages, & each one should be appreciated.
I’ve had my starter locs (two strand twists) in for 3 days now. I’m prepared for the journey but I’m impatient as hell because I’m just so damn excited for my hair to grow and loc haha. Videos like yours really inspire me and I just love to watch the beautiful journeys of my black brothas and sistas who have also started their locs :)
@@Slimmx hi Kenya. It’s quite touching to be asked for an update because I’m used to being the person wanting updates on everyone else. I sadly had to take my two strand twists out about 2 weeks after having them due to scalp issues. I would love to have locs right now and still plan to do them in the new year but only once I can be assured that my scalp won’t flare up.
@@unspkn4thz Wow, I’m really glad I was able to touch someone today. I noticed that you mention “flare-up” and “scalp”. My mom has psoriasis so that’s why I noticed those two specifically. If it is psoriasis, I just wanted to say my mom would have this thick plaque/build-up on her scalp where you couldn’t even see the skin atop of her head but thanks be to god, her hair has cleared up tremendously, like just a little dandruff clear. I want to start locs soon, I’ve always wanted long hair but just have never had the patience for my hair. With age I’m now realizing long hair doesn’t just have to be permed, straight, or silk pressed hair. I hope that I’ll have the courage to start my loc journey soon and that one day when the time is right, you’ll be able to experience it as well!
If “never give up” was a person 😍 I’ll be at 1 month at the beginning of next month and I’m already tired of walking around looking crazy 😂 but after seeing this video, imma stop complaining and just enjoy the ride. We have Damn near identical hair textures, so I’m subscribing!
☠️ 😂Just ride the wave fam, it’s only going to get better and better the longer you can extend your patience 😂 I promise! These types of comments are the reasons why I share my journey. 🌿🙌🏾 welcome to the channel 🖤
Just get it styled as you go. I never let mine hang free. I’m still in the starting stage. I do go to a loctician though. Ask them to do whatever style they can it last for me about a month in which that’s when I go for a retwist and I dare not to go through this ugly stage looking like a fool.
You have no idea how much this video gave me hope! I was feeling so down this morning, hair was looking stringy, it’s uneven, the middle of my hair grows so much slower so it’s like I have a hole when my hair is down because the back is so much finer than the middle and it’s layered. I’m grateful for this. It really is a TRUST THE PROCESS. I was to wear my hair down so bad but the back of my head really is ridiculous. Imma stick this out though 😅 thank you thank you thank you!
I’m 17 yrs old and i started my own two strand twist locs a week ago and I happy I finally found someone with the same type hair I also have fine hair and my hair looks see-though as well and I was nervous to keep my pics in but you really made me want to trust the process of my loc journey ❤❤❤
Finally. I’m so happy you posted this. My locs looks exactly like this. I’m on month 3. It’s so stringy and I feel you to my core!! This gave me so much faith. you are the only person I’ve seen who posted some early stage realness. THANK YOUUU!
Omg. Finally someone with the same texture as me. Looks super thick and course but when dry-twisted or straightened it is super duper fine and flyaway. Getting pics. Hopefully they look like yours.
I know this is an older video but thank you so much! I have been natural for over 6 years and I never thought that I would ever see someone else who had my hair. My hair LITERALLY looks exactly like yours! 4b/4c and I am installing my own locs. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Im so glad i found your video. Your growth is absolutely beautiful! I started my locs 2 weeks ago with 2 strand twists and even though i watched so many videos, no one had hair just like mine. Your loose natural hair looks just like mine & your starter locs were the same texture mine are! Im so glad to see that the thinness will thicken up in a few months. Representation really makes a difference so thank you for sharing for all us 4b/4c fine haired girlies! 🫶🏿🙏🏿
I loved this video. You’re so good at storytelling and I love how you structured this video. I know a lot of people probably had the same concerns as you with this type and/or density of hair/locs.. I loved watching the progression ❤️ and I love your locs
I started my journey dec 4th (6 weeks ago) last year and I have fine hair and layers too. Every time I start getting discouraged about the way my hair looks down I watch this video to keep up my spirits. Thank you
I think getting a really good trim before starting locs is a must. Especially for fine/thin hair. My hair is super thick in its natural state prior to being pressed. When pressed it’s fine and beautiful, yet I loose the density. So I start my loc journey Wednesday(6/22/22) and I’m glad I got a really good trim(6/4/22).
I really appreciate this video I just started my journey and it came out thinner because of my fine hair I was discouraged I’m glad too see that there is hope for the thickness too eventually come later your hair is beautiful thanks again for video ❤
6 weeks in 4b fine hair and I wear mine in a bun most of the time because it be looking crazy girl 🤣🤣🤣but I'm budding at the roots now I can see the difference each month I love the journey our hair is so cool it's amazing what we can do😏
Girrrl I love your locs and your thickness is BOMB. I'm 5months with a high top at about maybe 4 inches. I regret not starting them sooner before I cut my hair again. My two strand twist would have been amazing, seeing yours. I started these in Dec and they're coils. They're coming along pretty fine. Coming across your channel and video gives me hope. This video was probably the most fun journey to witness and view and gives me hope! Thanks for sharing with us! #LOCNATION
Restarting my locs after 15 yrs. I need some serious inspiration. Just retwisted my hair 1 month ago, but my hair is so curly I don't know if I have the patience to wait. Locs for me represent spiritual commitment so that part of it is definitely worth it. I see myself transforming already.
Great video. I just started my journey last week and my twist are stringy, I have 4c fine hair too where it looks thick but it's really fine. I hope my locs flourish like yours.
Beautiful locs 😍 I have fine 3c/4a hair and I was worried because my locs just fly everywhere, especially when I’m due for a retwist. You made me feel so much better! Thank you 💗💗💗
Thank you for this bc I have the same type of hair, 4C, but fine & I’m a year in, but have been so self-conscious about even letting them be free from wigs bc I feel they look so thin & am scared they won’t thicken.
I am right here w/ you. Same hair type. Very course 4c hair & I have very thin 2 strand twist, been loc'd since November. Just now seeing budding but I'm scared they won't thicken.
I’m interested in finally getting locs…and I’m Team fine hair so I can almost guarantee this is going to be exactly how my journey is going to be!!!!#Thanks hopefully I can find a loctician this month 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
I have fine hair and a big head. My locs are sooooo stringy right now. But this gives me some hope. I'm trying to find more ppl with thin locs to be my inspiration, so I can have a more accurate/realistic image.
This is my 6th month this month with my locks and I LOVE them I am thinking of dying my locks dark blue and light blue. But on the other hand I loved ♥️♥️ your video
I needed to see this! I'm 3 months in and on the struggle bus. My hair is also budding, shrinking, & getting thicker. My top is so much shorter also, but b/c of breakage as a loose natural. Praying thru this journey and trying to love myself even when I don't feel attractive
Thank you for this. I''m feeling a little ashamed of my thin hair/locs. I hope it will grow and get thicker. I think I might have started too late. I hope not.
I have fine 4c hair and struggling with it constantly knotting and breaking 🙃. But when I do fake loc my hair grows a lot . So I am thinking of locking my hair
2 months locked, it is a mess. Loose hairs, knots everywhere. Everyone has a different product they recommend. I have thin, fragile 4C hair. What products do you recommend?
I am 1 month in and I’m going for the no retwist freeform look and whewww let me tell you me telling myself it will get better….I have 62 locs which it don’t look like it 😭😭😭😭😭
If I have a problem with my hair being dry all the time do you have any solutions for me I put water on it but seem like at the end of the day his dry thank you
My twist unraveled sometimes during the early stages of my loc journey. I would just spray it with water, and retwist it, and eventually, they did loc up! I hope that helps.
