    You are impossible not to love! 😍🤣
    On the layering piece: I SO feel you there, but remember that your hair gets longer and will even out more every day, so I think it won’t be as disturbing to you next time around. Watch that retwisting frequency if you want to keep your roots thick!

    The deep conditioner part had me weak😂 but I’m glad you found a solution now! I’m currently 1 year and 3 months locd and I’ve only deep conditioned twice because I’m afraid of that and build up. Maybe you could use the deep conditioner once every few months for moisture and see how that works for you? I’ve also used all nature green tea from Amazon and that works for me!

    I know you said you probably won’t deep condition again until maybe October. (At least that’s what I think I heard you say.) But you may want to not *deep* condition until your locs are completely fully loc’d. Consider just an occasional quick gel based rinse out conditioner, which won’t build up in your locs. Just something to think about. Anyway they are looking good! Yes we see your hang time 🥰

    Also consider using a moisturizing shampoo on your second wash something that has oils in it or just a lot of aloe in it. I know a bunch of ppl said hot oil treatments and those for sure works. Happy journeying ❤️

    😂Thats so me, if my brain is not ready for it I can’t see it or hear it. Then later when I finally get it I’m mystified as to how it could be possible that I didn’t get it. Your hair is gorgeous. So satisfying to see that you are being gentle with the retwists; I know that because you are not scalpy. I just did a ton of research on locs, that’s the only reason why I know about the conditioner. I also don’t see why it’s necessary to risk shampoo buildup when apple cider vinegar and essential oils clean hair without buildup or drying it out. To me using essential oils daily is the same as washing daily without the dryness. I love your hair so much.👍🏿

  • @jallison241

    I've been loc'd for almost a year and every time I get a retwist I get a deep conditioning. I have fine hair as well and my hair is completely loc'd. Not sure if it's because I only get it when I get a retwist or what. But I've always felt the need to use conditioner because I like the feel of my hair afterwards and I def need it. Lol.. But I love your locs! They are gorgeous! 😍

    Love your personality! 💕 I've recently switched to stretching my retwists from 6 weeks to 2 months, to help thicken them up. I've been switching between flat braid outs and braids to help with styling with the loose roots. Maybe trying those styles may help with styling in between retwists?

    Gurrrlll. I had no clue either. I’ve been deep conditioning for 8 months and wondering why mine wasn’t staying loc’d either. That loose hair programming is real. Even now. I know this is true but I’m still having a hard time imagining a world where I don’t deep condition 😩😩😩 also, I wrapped my ends around each other so that they could loc and look thicker. It looks thick and uniform from root to tip now.

  • @godroots9667

    Yeah you should try to retwist once a month and when you do your retwis, try a method where your not twisting your hair to tight. I think that will help you with more volume in the long run. I think you have meduim full hair and i love it, I also have meduim full hair and i love mine. I personally dont like the too much hair on the head look..😊

    You may have to experiment on this buuuuut FOR DRY HAIR, it is best to use your own sebum. How do you do this you may ask? Well you do not use heavy oils or to much oil, not hot oil treatments (because most oil, not all, will strip your sebum).It will take a couple weeks/ month for your scalp and hair to get used to it. It is good to do a good detox before starting this and when your sebum accumulates you will need to scratch if from the scalp and rub it down to the ends of your hair, water will be able to pass through and moisturize the hair. When It is covered in most man made oils you get very lil water in. People are calling it the ''No oils challenge'' there are videos on this like with green beauty, water only hair wash and other youtubers. Aloe vera is also good for moisture in some people.

      When I learned this almost 2 years ago… it was GOLD! I had dry flaky scalp that burned caused by oiling my scalp which was blocking water (hydration) and my own natural sebum. I stopped using oils almost two years ago and have never had a scalp issue since! + I live in one of the driest parts of the world NV.

    Girl i thought that was just how your hair looked. I'm in the same texture as you but you have a thinner density. But so far i think you're doing great. Ummm i use Dr bronners to shampoo. In my first loc journey i used a ton of castor oil but i over used it. So now In my second i use argan oil and vitamin e oil. I think these simple and light oils will work for you. And you don't need to put it on your loc itself. Just the roots. And to hydrate your locs you can use either rose water (heritage store rosewater @Target) or green tea ( regular green tea and water ratio) just spray that in your hair. Just make sure you use bottled water. Your water could also be too harsh for your hair. It might be hard water. You can either get a filter for your shower head or wash like normal and then spritz with bottled water, green tea and/ or rose water

    • @uniquer.5922
      @uniquer.5922 2 года назад

      Oh and i don't use conditioners period. But if I did need to use something like acv , (which cleans but strips hair) I'd use something super thin like suave rosemary conditioner. I would put it in the sink. Fill the sink, and stir the water to the point the conditioner fully dissolves and then dunk my head in the sink. I'd use maybe 3-4tbsp of conditioner and then rinse though ly in the shower. I really hope this helps. I love your locs. Your doing great. It's literally constant trial and error. It took me almost a year to realize i was abusing castor oil
