Same! I’m dying to have locs, I always have my hair in twists anyway, but I want the partings neat before I start locs, I’m not sure if that’s vital for starting locs or not. Time to get myself a 3 way mirror lol
I’m a week away from my first retwist and I was about to invite my mom to my house to redo them for me but now I feel very confident doing it alone after watching this
You’ve inspired me to loc mine. I had my sister twist my hair up last year and it was cute but I had no idea you could start locs this way! My coworker thought I had locs. Im gonna try again with free parting and start my journey. And you can always comb them out if you get tired of them instead of doing the big chop. 💁🏽♀️ Thanks for sharing!
I would have personally put the shampoo on my scalp, put on the wig cap then go in the shower.. When the water touches it and you're rubbing your scalp it'll ladder underneath instead of trying to get to my scalp through the cap and hair 🤷🏽♀️
Depending on your hair type you can put hair ties or rubber bands to hold sections so your fingers can get to your scalp freely cause that's the part you need clean. The soap will run through your hair and loosen whatever is in it but my goal would be to get my scalp which I feel this stocking cap method can prevent. I've seen people having to rewash their scalp after taking off the cap depending on how much hair you have.
I love your personality! I would suggest twisting them all the same direction. But when you said “Am I giving #Lockiana 😂😂😂” I almost died. Keep up the good work I’m here for the journey hunty!
Yes girl you did a good job with it being your first retwist I love your hair it’s so full and nice your length is perfect I can’t wait to see your journey.
starting my locs today and u the first vid i clicked on lol, i’m convinced it’s time for me to start and u couldn’t be more of a help!! love ur hair btw 🤎🤎
You’re hilarious and cute I loved this vid 😍 my only comment is that you’re the first person who I’m watching who uses a single clip for each twist, usually people combine twists and clips, you got Paitence girl!!!
I just started my locs with braids a couple weeks ago. Im excited to retwist in another couple weeks or so. Ive been watching Yannie the locologist and she says no products should go in locs other than oil cause it never truly comes out of locs. Highly recommend her. Ive been trying to decide if I want to palm roll or interlock though.. Ugh!
Thank you! Just retwisted my 2 strand twists for the first time and I was gonna style them with a braid out to make the 4 weeks easier til my next wash but I will not 😩 I’m gonna let it be free and see where it goes
Ok, sis u did good! Thank you. Just had my daughter do my twist a few weeks ago. And I wanted to see how to do the wash and retwist. Blessings on your journey!
Omg where was this a few months ago! I started my own locs in May with two strand twist as well an the way it hard finding content. Good luck on your journey! Can't wait for more
Love your hair I started my journey 2 weeks ago with comb twist but I had a professional to start them. Once they are good I will be doing myself. I was wondering when I could have them fall to one side but ur vid just answered it
New Sub here! I. Must say you did great on your 1st retwist 💯 I'm 7 week in and so far I'm loving this journey can't wait to see my hair mature. #Loc'dinlove
Thank you for sharing your first retwist. I have been searching for the right video! Thank you! ❤😊 Now I have a few questions to ask. I started my journey with two strand twists with extensions (afro twist hair) but a few of them are literally at the tip..do I just twist the same way? Do I interloc thos ones? Or take it out and add them back (this option scares me as I want them all to start locing at the same time.. your response is much appreciated 😊
Lol the all the water and oil people should do that on their heads please.... build up is not the end of the world ... you can wash and detox it out... and not everyone gets build up 🙄 ..
Thank you! I just started mine and I’m definitely going to condition (diluted) once it’s locked and I will be using my regular moisturizer that keeps my hair healthy. Locking my hair didn’t change the texture...All those water/oil people will learn 10 years from now when their trying to repair their dry locs. To each his own. The natural community bugs me out...
Her girl, I’m late but I can wash without the stocking cap right ? My scalp dumb sensitive so I gotta be able to wash it and I feel like the cap won’t let me really get to it and then I have hella build up … any tips ?
@@Sup3RGiRLiVy I really don't know. But I wouldn't take the chance. Do it wash out when you wash your locs? If it does then you'll have to keep reapplying. I would just try braiding the ends if you can
@lizazlocz it's only been 3 days. The glue kinda is rubbing off but has made my hair sticky so it's still holding the twist. I really just hope it locs well. I don't wanna have to cut it start over.
that’s what i always did but i now either leave them alone so they can do their thing or i use a crochet tool for a quick fix which mattes it up on the spot. video coming soon..
I waited 8 weeks to do my first wash and retwist. As far as getting them wet just be mindful, I actually mist mine daily with either water or rose water
I decided to start my locs finally and ppl are so negative but im happy with my choice.
girl don’t worry bout them! it’s your hair and they gone b jealous in a few months lol
When I started my loc journey last June people were so mean now im almost a year in those same one love my hair ....keep rocking your LOCS love it
My stepmom did mine and she told me to not let anyone make me feel bad about starting my locs!! They are going to be beautiful ❤️❤️
Literally ! people tell me I look better without em but I love them ! and I’m trusting my process
Honestly they speak as if itll make yoh less beautiful, i just started my journey and we are all beautiful
“ I’m really out here locd up “ LMAOAAO😭😭
It was the “is it giving lociana” for me 🤣🤣🤣
This video just gave me a confidence boost, I may just start my locs on my own 🙏🏾 your hair is beautiful ❤️

Your hair is long and 2 stand starters, you dont need the stocking cap method to wash.. that's mainly for short comb coil starter locs...
You did a very good job on retwisting your locs for the first time ! Just watching this video made me super excited to retwist my starter locs !!

Pro tip put your in oil before you retwist
Try braiding the ends of your twists. That'll keep them from unraveling. Nice video.
I have very short and thin hair so I used hair glue to hold my twist ends from unraveling.... You think that will be okay in the long run ?
@@Sup3RGiRLiVy I really don't know. But I wouldn't take the chance. Do it wash out when you wash your locs? If it does then you'll have to keep reapplying. I would just try braiding the ends if you can
