I wish I had seen this when I first started my locs. I was so intimidated at the start to do my own retwist. Just think of the money I could have saved over the past EIGHT years. I have just started doing my own last year.
I had no idea what that stuff was in my daughter’s hair and I’ve been driving myself crazy trying to wash it out 😂 no one else has ever explained this in their videos. Thank you!!
I just loc’d my hair two months ago... I was intimidated about doing my own retwist until I watched your video... Technically my hair hasn’t loc’d yet I’m going through the process. I go once a month for a retwist and I use fenugreek oil, castor oil and Wild Growth Hair Oil on my scalp. I use a Du-rag to tie my hair up and my hair stays neat for 3-4 weeks... Because my hair hasn’t loc’d yet after my retwist my locs are styled to stay protected. I’m so glad I decided to loc my hair, this was the best decision I made in 2020!!!
I’m glad my video helped you feel more comfortable with doing your own hair. I go back and forth but it’s so nice when I can do it myself and really take the extra time to wrap my hair around my locs it makes such a difference in their appearance. Congratulations on beginning your journey!!
FINALLY!!! I am sooo thankful for your video!! I’m just one year in and I have been concerned with how tame the frizz and how to resume the clean parts between the Locs. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Yess! I love seeing locs up close 🙌🏽✨. Just SUBSCRIBED. I use the same technique when I retwist, wrapping the loose hair around the loc definitely makes a difference.
Gorgeous locs. I do my conditioner the same way but I mix water into the entire bottle. Never thought to separate it. I used to use hello hydration on my loose curls and loved. Looks like I’ll have to buy some
Very very very beautiful!❤ I'm about to do my locs now. I've been loc'd since 11/1 2021 And you inspired me to do a RUclips video on how I do mine. I love the fact that you got straight to the point, you're in your kitchen in the sink, and it feels very very homey and relatable. Makes me really inspired to just get out there and do it. It doesn't have to be perfect. Do your best and give it your all. That's perfect enough! Thank you!✨
THANK YOU! My son has had his pics for two years and we were going once a month for a retest, his loc lady moved away and I’m struggling to find a replacement. Turns out I’m trying myself and this is EVERYTHING I NEEDED!!!
Yes it takes longer but super easy! I went to a loctition my first year because I just wanted that reassurance they were forming properly but after that I began to maintain myself.
You're essence is just beautiful 😍😍 randomly I just had a sudden urge that I would like to get locs so I've been doing my research for the past two day's lol great video thank you sis🙏🏾🤍
My mom is trying to passively-aggressively talk me out of locs but lol I'm positive I'm going to do microlocs. Don't quote me though. Beautiful hair!! Thanks for the video
I’m dead at passively-aggressively talk me out of locs 😂 lol thank you!! Yes you have to do what’s right for YOU. One of the main people that tried to tell me I shouldn’t get them is the main person telling me how beautiful they are and how she’s considering them for herself 🙄 lol
Do you suggest someone with starter locs do their own retwist ? It looks easy enough but I’m only about 2 and half months locd, and only have gotten retwisted once!
hopefully you still see these comments but how long does it take for you to twist? I think you might be the first person I've seen that has a ton of locs like me.
When I’m trying to get my parts real clean and I use clips about 5 hours. If I’m using a hair tye and just use my fingers and don’t obsess over the parts 2 and a 1/2.
Thank you!!! About 4-5 hours I take my time lol but that’s also because I wrap my frizzy hair going down the loc because my locs aren’t as mature but when I don’t it only takes me like 2 and a 1/2 hours.
Hey quick question, when did you start using conditioner for your locs? I know you said your Locs weren’t mature yet but these are far from starters lol
Hi my locs we’re probably about 16 months in this video. My hair locked pretty fast. I only used conditioner a couple times after this and never again. My hair was fine with just spraying rose water and applying my oil on top so I didn’t feel I needed it.
Can you please turn off the tap when you are not using it? It's pumping out so much water while you are filling Ur bottles or applying conditioner to your hair. I really love your video though. It makes me want to clean my hair too.
Heyyyyy. I had started my locs in November of last year and I just have an question. When you retwist your loc, do I have to retwist left or right before putting the clip in and another question lol, umm... Did you get the product you use from any beauty supply store?
I haven’t seen anyone wash there hair in the sink in so long lol I love it. I miss those days
Right had to take it back to the mama wash lol 😂
Right lol dip that head in the sank!
Those were the best haha
I wish I had seen this when I first started my locs. I was so intimidated at the start to do my own retwist. Just think of the money I could have saved over the past EIGHT years. I have just started doing my own last year.
I want to learn how do my own hair in dreads locs
Loved that you kept this under 10 minutes but was still able to get in the information you needed to get out. The end result was great! 😍
Thank you!! Lol I did my best!
This!
Your locs are gorgeous 🎉
Tj
Great tips on the conditioner in a smaller bottle. 🤙🏽
Thank you! Im glad you got something from it.
Thanks for all the details and close ups. Your locs are gorgeous.
I had no idea what that stuff was in my daughter’s hair and I’ve been driving myself crazy trying to wash it out 😂 no one else has ever explained this in their videos. Thank you!!

These look sooo good! I really think I’m going to start retwisting my own. I’m only 6 months in though so I’m scared but this looks doable!
Yes it takes longer but super easy! I went to a loctition my first year because I just wanted that reassurance they were forming properly but after that I began to maintain myself.
@@lovemynativegood idea!
Locs look so great bomb looking retwist 👍🏾👏🏾🤗
I have to try this! I am so tired of trying to find a good and reasonable loctician!
I started loc journey 11/1. I got my starters done at a salon. But I want to learn to resist myself. Beautiful locs!
Its pretty easy! in the beginning I went to someone because I wanted guidance and to make sure they were forming properly.
@@lovemynative Thank you. I think I'll go for 3 months then start on my own.

do you sleep with the clips or no clips!! GREAT VID!!!!
Thank you! No I take out the clips after I sit under the dryer.
Your locs are lovely!

@Love my Native hello, would you mind sharing where you purchase the loc nation loc pomade. Thank you

Your locs are beautiful 😍😍
So you gotta any openings to do my first retwist? Lol 😆 . Love your locs.. new subbie
Thank you 🤣 lol what do you mean by brush them down?
@@lovemynative like slick it down
More water = less product. Saturating your locs a little more really helps.
I have 39 beautiful locks but I rather interlocking loved your videos girl
How did you start your locs? They’re gorgeous 😄!!
Thank you! With comb coils :)
What did you use on your edges? Love your locs, btw. You are my fav. loc person on youtube
Aww thank you that made my day! I’m going to post how I lay my edges video next week so look out for that! But I use 1locnation edge tamer

Locs are neat 🔥🔥 we love it!
Gorgeous locs!! How long does it take you for that whole process and how long does it stay. I’m thinking of retwisting instead of latchooking now.
Thank you!!! About 4-5 hours I take my time lol but that’s also because I wrap my frizzy hair going down the loc because my locs aren’t as mature but when I don’t it only takes me like 2 and a 1/2 hours.
@@lovemynative thanks!
@@lovemynative doesn't your arms hurt? Mine would I'm sure but it beats the alternative.
They don’t hurt too bad lol
I’m 8 months in.. your locs are beautiful and you are beautiful yourself! Did you part your hair with the comb ?
Thank you!! Yes I used a rat tail comb with the skinny metal end to part.
@@lovemynative yeah I’m a guy so parting period is hard so in the back of my head will be a challenge lol just followed you on IG .. thanks my love !
Can you post a picture of the loc pomade you are using in the video?
I showed the Loc pomade in the video 😊 you can visit 1locnation.com to order the packaging is a little different now but it’s the organic Loc pomade
Hi dear how long have you been locking your hair?
Gorgeous
Are the edge control and loc gel the only items you use with retwisting?
Yes the edge control only on my edges and the Loc gel throughout a small amount.
@@lovemynative thank you

Beautiful, I love the size of your locs. Are they small or medium sized?
I’d say the average size of my locs are a number 2 pencil
Thank you!!
Heyyyyy. I had started my locs in November of last year and I just have an question. When you retwist your loc, do I have to retwist left or right before putting the clip in and another question lol, umm... Did you get the product you use from any beauty supply store?
I retwist right but that just depends on which way you’ve always retwisted you don’t want to go back and forth. I order it online only.
