I really like the 2.9 TFSI these cars get in the overseas market. In Europe they are unfortunately only sold with a 3.0l TDI engine with a whole 100 less horsepower. The Diesel does not only have less power than the equivalent car in other markets, it literally has 100 less horsepower than the previous European market S6 as well. Even if the Diesel was even remotely able to match the 2.9 TFSI in performance (which it absolutely isn't, it's almost a second slower 0-60), the Diesel still wouldn't be the car to get. You buy an S6 because you care about the performance and the driving experience, which the Diesel just can't deliver. It doesn't feel special in any way despite having S6 badging all over the place, it looks and feels like some boring airport rental car and the Diesel exhaust note doesn't help in any way.

The v6 is definitely the low side of the S6, but I personally think I enjoyed this over the other German offerings in the segment. There’s just something rock solid and easy about an Audi sedan, simple and relaxed. I guess I just don’t look for high performance in a midsized or larger sedan, but I want passing power. The BMW is way too busy on the inside and the Merc just doesn’t feel as premium with its creaking interior trim pieces. I guess as a premium and powerful daily driver this seems to suit the mold for me.

I love the US take on this. Sedans are the standard in Germany, even now when SUVs are popular as well. Most people buy sedans or, when they have a family, a waggon. A6, 5 Series and E-Class are the standard cars of the middle class business man. The Passat Waggon is the Car most bought/ leased by the middle class dad. And I would say, Audi, BMW and Mercedes are on the same level of sales here in germany. No matter if 3 series, A4 or C-Class or the big brothers 5 series, A6 or the E-Class.
It's still the norm here that you want a german Car when you have the money for it. We usually don't buy asian cars and especially not french or american cars.

I wish I had a SUV to sleep in... when I was homeless and now because I would remain without a house... only more so by choice... just to save money... the largest expenses people can have is rent/mortgage, which mortgage is cheaper if you qualify to own a home, and owning a car... now a car being a home on wheels that is legal and you can live in if you should go homeless because you rent or couldn't afford the house you got... is a better option to buy just in case terrible things happen... you have a place to stay... your SUV... its similar to the Great Depression when banks were not trusted and people hide their money in mattresses.....same things here.... its a ... if I get kicked out at least I have the SUV to live in instead of a tent under a bridge....LOL

I think with the advent of SUVs and jacked wagons like the Allroad etc, that naturally excelled better at the actual utility part, I developed a new appreciation for traditional old school sedans that no longer have to "do it all." A friend has an SL, and he actually prides himself that he can't take an extra passenger when is sometimes asked.... it says you're wealthy enough that you can afford to just say "no"... and have strictly a toy for your own driving pleasure. Perhaps a bit of odd psychology but, you can't do what you can't do! Well, the sedan is sort of that way about stuff! When it comes to apartment moving duty: "Sorry, I can't..." 🙂 I'm not advocating for being a jerk to friends here, you help how you can, but sometimes there is an advantage to not owning a 'moving van' like virtually everybody has now, for everybody to assume...!
That...and it's beautiful. I like it better than the sleek 7.

Most auto manufacturers use flat-line for the radar sensors which have more limitations compared to dome which is what Audi uses mainly in their line up, with few exceptions. The dome radar sensors just work better and can detect more. In addition, Audi does an incredible job at hiding features that these cars have by not labeling. Once you get to know the car, everything is ergonomically designed you don't need any labels because it becomes muscle memory. It's one of the best features about Audi compared to other auto manufacturers.

Doug is the type of guy to become a millionaire on RUclips and then continue his success with his car auction site.

Forgotten? These are not uncommon in Europe. S4 and S6 are popular "sports cars" here, you get the power and practicality in the same package.

Forgotten in the US, where obnoxious and useless SUVs and pickups are for some reason the go-to vehicle.

Yea but here is different. Most people prefer trucks, crossovers and SUVs over sedans for families and utilities nowadays.

@@jonlosito2004 Sadly that trend is becoming pretty visible here as well. People don't really buy wagons anymore, they just get SUVs. And SUVs in most cases are usually basically lifted hatchbacks, something like 1,3l engine and FWD. Ridiculous.

I've actually never seen an S6 or S7 from this generation in the UK, those with money who want performance seem to skip straight to the RS models

But okay fine Audi is always the car brand that has less power than its majn competitors but now people always seem to forget that Audi did say that they were more focused on the GT side of life and not much the performance hence when we talking abbout ride quality Audi most of the times takes the dub cause remember BMW is more for track usage and Merc is more for the beastly over the top thing but look who's to judge🤷🏾‍♂️
