That literally isn’t going to ever happen. Audi hasn’t made a manual in over a decade
Very cool car, I'm glad it exists still. But $70k will always be hard for me to wrap my head around for a compact sedan.
I agree
I wonder how much lower the price could be if they only focused on things that matter for the car instead of gimmicks many people could live without... like dancing lights, adjustments and gadgets you'd rarely fiddle with.
The one sad thing about RS3s to me is the fact that these hold their value. Even used RS3s are still in the 50s.
@@PacoRobbins cars holding value is a red flag 🚩! That is unfair af
This is THE compact sedan. And I’m sorry that you’re stuck in 2012 not understanding car prices.
This car in this exact spec is the dream. 70k is definitely a bit on steeper side but not completely unattainable, ill have it one day.
Ok it's been 2 years since I watched your videos. You have still got that energetic *"THIIIIIIIIISSSSSS"* and those energetic moves😂
The tach in RS mode goes from the top down...that is counter-intuitive.
@@Pi4zza yes if we watch the video we see that
Audi always kills it with the lighting
Their interiors are first class too. Not only amazing tech but very useful and intuitive
I still find it odd looking at how some Audi's and even Porsches have that opening in front of the front door panel. Makes it look like it's been in a little accident
The new Cayman GT4 RS actually shaves the front fender off behind the wheel.
It's for air to flow through.
@@snakeeyes9246 in Porsches maybe, but this one's fake.
This is just a small detail and I'd forgive it, but that big 'grille' on the back bumper is yikes. RS5 has the same thing, no idea why they did it.

The volume knob is just a scroll wheel taken off a old school ipod. And for that nostalgia alone.. I kinda love it.
I agree Doug, it's the perfect size! Especially in a world where cars are getting bigger for safety or turning into SUVs. Also I love the green! Very exotic, it's practical with 4 doors but exciting.
I do NOT understand why Audi will not sell the hatch in the U.S. I get that wagons don't sell well here, yet Audi gives us the Avant of the larger models... BUT, we do like hatchbacks, and this one looks GREAT. Such a shame, as the sedan looks very ordinary in comparison. 😐
"We" the people who like hatchbacks and wagons are not the majority sadly. What's ironic though is that us americans seem to love crossovers and suvs, which in my opinion look worse than both sedans and hatches.
I suspect the reason is because SUVs dominate the US market. Any variance of the same model would just be competing with itself.
Subaru stopped selling the Hatch too and it saddens me because I love hatchbacks and I’m not really into GTIs and don’t have money to go up to Golf R territory nobody makes cool hatchbacks anymore beside the GR Corrola and that things gonna be selling for 45k+ easily.

I currently have a 2018 golf r, and once i make more money, this is 100% my next car. Same platform as the golf, but more power, and sedan styling
its same platform because its same category. The car is completly different from your golf. In 2024 people still think vw is same as audi.
I don't like the color as a color, but I would TOTALLY get this car in it - especially with the matching interior accents - love it!
I really wish Audi brought the hatchback version of this to the USA. I'd buy one immediately if they did, a sedan just doesn't work with my lifestyle
I completely agree, not to mention that the hatchback looks really good.
You want a car like this as a daily driver ?

Audi RS3: here's a drift button
I’ve been waiting for this review for a long long time! I love the RS3! 5cyl cars should be more common!
I love how the battery is centered for that extra tiny bit of balance
This is such an amazing car for the value. I used to drive a 2014 VW Jetta GLI Edition 30. I notice a strong resemblance in size and finishes. The power upgrade in the RS would be so much fun. The major downside is the low profile tires. Driving this even under 10k miles per year, the flat tires get super exhausting.
Mine is finally being built right now. It’s supposed to be here in about a month. It’s not the car for you if you’re not patient though. I put the deposit down in early March and won’t get it until November. Like everything now, it took forever
This is a great sports sedan and I love the 5 cylinder. My only problem is it's around $70k with options. That's really up there
Lmao Jesus 70g? Holy shi that’s a lot of money for a Audi
Audi still got it with these designs
Idk about the grille but the rest is nice.

Does this car have larger front tire widths than the rear tire widths? I always found that to be an interesting quirk of this front drive biased car.
It does, and a different type of AWD system now that is more rear biased than haldex
Every time I see Doug post a sport sedan review I get the feeling of really wanting to see a review of that relatively new 508 PSE. But I'm guessing they still don't get them in the US since it's been few years since the 3008 review and nothing new reviews have come after that.
I recall the 3008 was owned by someone in Mexico. It amused me how Doug though it was a Poogeot.
the 508 been reviewed by doug would we crazy. the 508 is a bit disappointing but it definitely is the best looking car of its class
That bright green is freakin awesome! It's just a damn shame the hatchback won't be available in the U.S. (I actually like the way the hatchback styling looks better than the sedan) if the world is still around 20 years from now, I'll have to buy one when they become legal for import.

60-70k??? Sheesh, could’ve been a true market competitor if it started in the 50s. Would’ve outsold BMW M series, and Cadillac’s V series intro models. Might as well get a larger full on M3-M4 or CTSV 4-5.
The M3 starts at 70K though, it's 10k price point difference. This isn't even a competitor to the M3, this is slotted against the M2. For the M3 it's supposed to compete with the RS5 sportback or the RS4
@@BraceWuyne no no, I mean M series, like the M240/340/440. It could’ve priced them out. M440 is about 62-65 in some specs. So it’s like for the same money, you can have some extra room, and still some performance. Had they started mid 50’s they could’ve beat out the entire segment.
@@WickedIonic5N Again S cars compete with M series cars, RS competes with the real full Ms. S3 competes with M240i, RS3 competes with the M2. Etc. S4 for the M340i, RS4/RS5 Sportback for the M3

I waited for a year to put my order in for one of these, It finally became available , so I got in touch with my audi dealer whom I bought an S3 from in 2019 and told him I wanted to order a new RS3 and I wanted to do it in an exclusive color and I wanted it with all the options. I spec'd it all out and went to put my deposit down and the sales guy said "yeah, it's going to be an additional $10,000 as a "market adjustment" so basically they wanted me to give them 10k for nothing but the privilege of giving them another $70,000 for the car.
I told them I would absolutely not do that. Called my BMW dealer and secured a special color M3 Comp XDRIVE for early 2023 model. Audi lost a long time customer by doing thet to me.
So lame when that happens. I had to search far and wide but found an Audi Dealer in Indiana that does MSRP. Just put in my order today. Only wish we had the hatch here and didn't have to have the roof painted for the black optics pack. Hope you like your M3. I just can't do the grill on them but maybe on the 2023s that will be changed? Markups suck though 100 percent.
@@dsher503 That's AWESOME you found. one at MSRP, congrats!!!! Definitely agree with you about the hatch back as well, I personally think they are way cooler. But you will love it. What color did you order?
I honestly like the front of the new M3. It didn't do anything for me initially in photos, but once I saw it in person, I really liked it. Audi service here in NYC is also abysmal, so I'm looking forward to dealing with BMW again as they were always top notch.
@@auralxtc I think the further you go away from the coasts, the more likely you’ll get good service and msrp. Im in Portland, OR and even our prices are out of control at most dealers. I went Tango Red after much deliberating. My wife’s always wanted a red car and since we’re getting the RS3 mainly because it’s an auto that she can drive, I figured why not get a color she likes. I like the green, especially with the matching interior but it was just a little “look at me” for my taste. I think 2 days a week I would LOVE a crazy color on the RS3 but most days I prefer to be a little more under the radar. Someday I’ll do a paint to sample on a car. Too bad about your dealer. I would have loved to see your spec!
I actually test drove a MK8 golf today because I’m looking for a fun little daily until the RS3 arrives but they had it 12k over sticker!!! 32,500 msrp and on the window sticker, 44,000. Legitimately made me laugh. They did come down to 34k but I just told them I’ll wait until I find one with no markup. Crazy times we live in.
I’ll agree the grill looks better in person. As long as you like it though that’s all that matters! Which color did you go with? I think some colors do a better job than others when meshing with the grill. Also I’m assuming you went 8 speed not manual right? I think the M3 will be fast as hell and really comfortable to drive but they’ve just gotten a little big for me. Im driving a 2005 6 speed 330i ZHP and I think E46 was the perfect size for M3s but to each their own.
Sorry for the long ass response but I enjoy talking with other nice car people on RUclips!
Mini F chassis cars allows you to open up the sunroof and close the sunshade!!! Such a great feature
Canada is receiving the hatch back I believe. I don't like that weird kink in the front quarter panel that's just in front of the front door. At first glance it looks like the car has been in an accident and the quarter panel got dented. It definitely doesn't flow well with the rest of the lines along the car towards the rear. Honestly, Doug I'm surprised you didn't highlight this as a quirk!
The fact that this is considered a "small" sedan says a lot about how big vehicles especially in north america have become
My wife has a corolla hatch which is pretty tiny, if this car is the same size I would call it small.
Americans: "The Chevy Tahoe is a baby SUV, tiny vehicle! Doesn't evem need 4 stairs to get in! Doesn't cast a shadow on your house!"
Cars get bigger and bigger and people get worse at driving… terrible combination.
Relative isn't it. It's a big car in the UK. Tiny in the US
