Now with that said, my main UPS driver that has worked there since he was 19, and he's 63 now (he retires for about 5 weeks last year but got so bored, and the UPS depot he's out of couldn't find good driver, he came back), bought a new top of the line fully loaded Ford F-150 4x4 (some limited edition) for a hair over $97k, and it's left him stuck multiple times in the past 3 months with an issue with the cylinder cut off computer, instead of turning off just half of the cylinders to save fuel, it has been shutting off the entire motor, and this is a year and a half old truck, and warranty doesn't do him much good when most dealerships up here are CLOSED on the weekends and the nearest one is a good 30 mile tow or drive for him and don't even get me started on the guys Tesla Model S at work, it's going on its fifth year, he ordered it back in 2015/2016, and finally got his allocation in late 2018, and it was fine for about 8 months, then all the electronic gremlins started in on him, and as for speed, it's NO top speed demon, as even my 2000 Porsche 911 C4 can beat him on top speed, and although he can easily pull away from me doing a realistic 0-60 in around 2.4 seconds (real world, not some pampered, prepped test track) where as my trusty old 911 C4 takes around 3.9 to 4.2 seconds to hook up (keep in mind my 3.4l F-6 is NA and only has around 320-338 (on the dynamic at Ramchargers in Troy Michigan) Horsepower and his Tesla has nearly 3 times that in "Ludacris" mode, which I believe is called that due to the time it takes to engage the fast launch system, as the batteries have to either cool or warm and it does a bunch of other wizardry which usually take 8 to 12 MINUTES!!! No real Racer is going to wait around for nearly a quarter of an hour while you setup your Tesla for 1 run, but my point is that currently for a reliable vehicle, I and many others would still go with Audi or some VW group car, even a Lamborghini, like my buddies LP560/4 Gallardo (that thing is going on over a decade old) and it's still a fun machine, despite people that know poking fun at him because some parts like the air filter box have a "VW" symbol stamped in them. Parents got themselves an s580e last year. Can absolutely agree with everything they said about it here, though there is one issue, the cooled seats on max fan speed is incredibly loud.
I’m just in love with The Audi.. It would be my pick out of the three due to it’s understated elegance and superior build quality. Although the S-class is kinda exciting some of the features just seem a bit tacky, but it’s growing on me. I miss the old 7-Series
@@minigiant8998 oh man that’s always been a thing.. not since the beginning but that’s Audi’s strong point. It’s debatable between BMW tho, because you won’t get into a BMW that’s poor quality. So I’d say BMW and Audi are around the same. The only reason Audi would succeed better is there use of materials. Audi often uses better materials and every single car comes with real leather as apposed to BMW, but still they’re head on with each other. Mercedes is known to be very creaky and despite the great leather and nice features a lot of their interior parts are cheaply made.
the reason the 7 series doors only go a little bit when you try to auto open them from the outside is due to where you are standing when you press the button. the car tell the door is gonna hit something so it stops itself. try stepping off to the side and hitting it and it will work.
I owned a 1998 D2 S8 way back when and I really appreciated its Q car looks. No one really knew what it was. I don't want to be noticed. I just want to cover miles rapidly and in comfort. It did that brilliantly well. So I'd still take an S8 today, if I were ever going to buy an ICE car again.
@@denalisiomontpellier4064 who cares about looks with these cars... Especially the audi, which looks like a bloated streched out A4. The large wheelbase is more suited for the US anyways. Space is not a problem there. Why would you want it smaller? Its not exactly a sporty drive so youre not gaining any dynamics points with the shorter version
As always, great video guys. I think given the Audi isn't the limo version of an A8 and it is a generation or more older than both the competition, that it competes with the out and out wafters even in S8 guise, says so much for its engineering. The new A8 is going to be based on the Grand Sphere design language and will therefore be more modern in its look than either of the other two and most importantly will never be as pig ugly as that 7 series.
I know the Audi's never really manage to capture the same sense of occasion as the Merc or BMW but their interiors are just very familiar and usable. It feels very reserved and functional.
This goes for all levels basically, people talking about the "big three" German brands are giving Audi too much credit. Audi basically makes perfect upgraded Volkswagens. Great cars, but still always just that little bit below BMW, which itself is just that little bit below Mercedes.
@@laiks5485 i don’t know what you people are talking about i have all 3 brands in the Familly and Audi is by far better car and comfort of Audi is so much better than Bmw and from Mercedes
@@chilltime2281 Obviously taste differs, but the general consensus is that Mercedes is the peak car. Maybe you don't like the excess focus on comfort and want a more dynamic experience? Then get an BMW. Audi is the only one of the three having the engine placed in front of the front-axle, having fwd etc. Naturally giving it less ability to compete.
@@laiks5485 having all 3 cars with Four wheel drive Audi is with Quattro number 1. i just don’t understand why people talk Audi is under Bmw and Mercedes i have all 3 of them for now 2 years and Audi is better by far from those 2 even when it’s older version then another 2
The coolest feature of the new (2021+) S-Class in my opinion is the multicolor - full-screen heads-up display which the test car here did not have. I know several friends who upgraded their rides for that feature alone. I cringe when I see one without the HUD at a dealer's lot. I think you guys should at least talk about it :).

Love the content! The only thing that bugged me was having the S8 as the clearly better drivers car..it’s an S8 not an A8. That’s like comparing a C300, 320i, and an S3. It’s a sporty vehicle by design unlike the other luxury first competitors.

@@Liphzzy there’s certain and deliberate corny acting because corn and cringe is what the joke is in that particular gag. While the debating and discussing is more of a conversational flow. I totally said that weird
I always wonder who the S8 is really for. A giant performance sedan that you drive yourself? I’m thinking it’s a heist car. Like you’ve got big dudes wearing body armor with carbines and giant duffels of money in the backseat, and you need that handling and power to evade the cops. Which explains why it was in both Ronin and The Transporter.
It is for that peculiar guy who wants a sort-of-limo car of that size, while enjoying some sportiness and, well, un-limousine-ness. If I had to pick one of the three cars in the video, I'd pick the S8.
Honestly, for me, being around Audi, my whole life, I’ve always been more pulled toward that car. Specifically working for Audi and driving Audis ever since I was younger you just can’t beat Quattro and a lot of the components that Audi uses. The S class and the seven series are nice but I would still take the Audi overall, especially with some of the special features that the S8 has . But regardless these guys are incredible!

Personaly i would take an RS3/RS5 over the S8 but like i said im a driver and i have so much passion for fast cars like RS/S line of cars
I like the 7 series appearance. It is trending to the more substantial presence of a Bentley or Rolls. I don’t think it’s ugly at all. I am driving a 2023 s580 now, and it is a very luxurious vehicle. But, there are frequent electronic ghosts and glitches. I’ve never driven the new 7, but I do own a 2022 BMW X7 M50i, and I like it more than the S580. I bet I would prefer the 7 over the S class. Need to try the S8. I’m a fan of Audi S cars and I love the performance bias.
You need to trade it in for the new 760. At the very least, go test drive one. You don’t have to buy it. But you gotta drive it. I just traded in my 2018 s450 for the new 740i. If you think your better off with a USA or UK made vehicle, I've got a Range Rover Discovery sitting in 1 of my garage bays that won't do jack squat after a Land Rover supplied ECU update, NO Start, NO Crank, No nothing, just a giant paper weight, where as my Audi A6 is going onto 250,000 miles, and my Porsche 911 C4 is creeping up to the 200,000 mile mark.
Modern cars are, like biden & everything the democrats touch or push legislation on, a slow, unreliable, expensive piece of $H!T, so think about that when you talk to your 2 mechanics with a combined experience that is 10+ years LESS then even mine.
Parents got themselves an s580e last year. Can absolutely agree with everything they said about it here, though there is one issue, the cooled seats on max fan speed is incredibly loud.
the S class has always been the benchmark for luxury cars
Always been a lot overrated
@@denalisiomontpellier4064 Clearly you've never owned an S-Class.
@@can_opener755 exactly, I own a 2019 S8 that is better than any s klasse.
@@denalisiomontpellier4064 Oh hell nah you own ANY high end-spec luxury car made within the last 5 years? Clearly you have warranty lmao
@Z 🏳️🌈⃠ it's the most comfortable, the driver car and the most solid here. That's enough to win.
I’m just in love with The Audi.. It would be my pick out of the three due to it’s understated elegance and superior build quality. Although the S-class is kinda exciting some of the features just seem a bit tacky, but it’s growing on me. I miss the old 7-Series
The S8 sounds epic
@@paultasker7788 I agree! Super nice
@@paultasker7788 love the BMW interior too.. look amazing
@@christianbryant5617 wait, when did audi have superior build quality of bmw and merc?!
Yes! Complaining about it not opening properly is moronic...
@@BMWPorscheBMWPorsche designing a gimmicky solution to a problem that didn't exist that makes the car harder to use is also moronic...
My favorite two people on RUclips!
Great video guys!
This is it. There is no other channel. Done. Over. Unbelievable. Great.
The only thing annoying me it's that in north America is only long wheelbase; in Europe they sell in as shortwheelbase and that looks better to me
@@denalisiomontpellier4064 who cares about looks with these cars... Especially the audi, which looks like a bloated streched out A4. The large wheelbase is more suited for the US anyways. Space is not a problem there. Why would you want it smaller? Its not exactly a sporty drive so youre not gaining any dynamics points with the shorter version
You guys never miss
You make the best car content of this type on RUclips, hands down. Keep up the excellent work!
6:43 "It's just dry and sunny" yall cursed us, getting bombarded with rain right now
As always, great video guys.
Hahahaha you guys are funny..nough said
@@laiks5485 i don’t know what you people are talking about i have all 3 brands in the Familly and Audi is by far better car and comfort of Audi is so much better than Bmw and from Mercedes

That S Class is an absolute beauty 😍
No its not

I agree, but out of the three in this video, it certainly looks the best. It's kind of a sad reality, but this is the world we live in.
What world do you live in.. LOL
8:25 😂😂😂 that is unacceptably funny
Damn you Throttle house I was just going to get some work done and now I m watching this .
That "And I'm James!" makes me LMAO every time 😂
I love the intros in these super luxury cars. Thomas goes "You're watching Throttle House 🍸 I'm Thomas 🧐" then "AND I'M JAMES 🤠"
Thissssss.... Is the best episode of Throttle House to date!!
sitting in the back of the 7 series i can say that its one of the most comfortable luxury cars. the moon roof to the massage seats the the ambient lighting everything about this car is a vibe
What about the glare from the sun on the TV when the moonroof is open?
I will say the interior is the best of all 3 (more useful than the S class and more of an occasion than the other 2), however I cannot on good conscience sit at the back of it knowing the horror I’m subjecting to everyone else on the road😅
@@officerahmo The sun visors and moonroof close when the TV is used. Therefore there is no glare from the sun when using the tv. However, there is much glare on the Mercedes and Audi infotainment screens.

Love the content!
The only thing that bugged me was having the S8 as the clearly better drivers car..it’s an S8 not an A8.
That’s like comparing a C300, 320i, and an S3. It’s a sporty vehicle by design unlike the other luxury first competitors.
The are all best specs and price.

My favorite thing about you guys is that it's clearly not scripted at all. The whole thing is one long conversation and it makes the video flow super nice and feels natural to watch. The deliberate sub par acting for the sake of the joke is also hilarious. Please, stick to your roots on this one and keep up the good work.
It do sound like it, but I am sure they have scripted and practice it numerous time to make it sound so natural yet very well structured.
You are contradicting yourself buddy. If it's not scripted, which it obviously is, they can't do 'sub par acting'.
@@Liphzzy there’s certain and deliberate corny acting because corn and cringe is what the joke is in that particular gag. While the debating and discussing is more of a conversational flow. I totally said that weird
James “I’m incredibly uncomfortable 😂. Spare trousers 🤣
I can definitely say that you’re the best modern car channel. Every video is a masterpiece.
S8 is definetly a drivers car
It is for that peculiar guy who wants a sort-of-limo car of that size, while enjoying some sportiness and, well, un-limousine-ness.
If I had to pick one of the three cars in the video, I'd pick the S8.
i don’t mind the 7 in certain colours . but that S class . my goodness

Top notch review guys. "I don't care about looks anyways.... Oh good, let me direct you to the 7 series." Whoever wrote that deserves an award.

Only criticism is the refusal to equip the 740 with AWD, which is unfortunately reserved for the 760. (Makes zero f*ckin sense, and, in my opinion, is the single biggest deterrent.
