  • This is the all-new Audi RS6 Performance!
    Audi has updated the oh-so popular RS6 for 2023, and Mat’s about to find out just what has changed over the previous edition.
    Starting with the design, the changes over the previous generation are minor - but that’s no bad thing! Across the front, back and sides, what was previously chrome trim has now changed to Matt grey, and the Audi badge at the front has now been blackened out. The car also comes with 22-inch alloys as standard. But otherwise, that’s all that’s changed! However, should you choose to go for the carbon pack, then the matt grey trim can be swapped to carbon instead.
    Step inside and it’s a similar story to the exterior design. You’ll now find alcantara on the steering wheel, as well as blue stitching across the seats and seatbelts. You’ll also find some slightly updated dials and some additional tech, such as surround view camera, but otherwise the RS6 Performance is the same as the previous generation.
    However, one area that has experienced quite a big change is the car’s performance! Although it comes with the same 4-litre twin-turbo V8 as before, it’s had bigger turbos fitted to it. As a result, horsepower and torque have been increased by 30hp & 50Nm respectively, meaning the car now produced 630hp and 850Nm!
    But of course, all these changes don’t come cheap. The Audi RS6 Performance starts at £20,000 more than the previous edition, meaning you’ll be paying from £113,000 to pick one up! So is it worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!

    Bought an RS6 earlier this year and unlike any other car I've owned, the smile that I had on my face the first time I drove it hasn't gone away. It has absolutely no business being as quick as it is. It just chews up the road in front of you.
    As an all rounder, it's the best car ever made. The performance is spectacular - pretty close to supercar level, it looks beautiful yet not overly showy and its practical. Try sticking the kids in the back, dogs in the boot and luggage on the roof in a Ferrari Roma. Yet the Audi can do all of that, is somehow quicker and £80k cheaper.
    Good job, Audi.

But choose cars that are specified to one thing, such as it’s speed (acceleration and top speed) (Golf R or A45), another that focussed on it tech (Tesla), another that focuses on its looks and style (Mustang), another that’s comfy to drive (BMW 4 series) etc. at the end of the video you could decide which is the best for value and what you would get for that price? It’s just an idea I’ve come up with because this is the situation I’m in at the moment and have no idea what to get aha

    I have a 2023 RS6. It is a fun car but my E63S Estate was more exiting to drive. The Audi is far more attractive and very comfortable as a daily driver. Rear wheel steering on the Performance model is welcome, but I would rather have a steering rack that provides some feedback. More exhaust is nice, but at the expense of less insulation. The 2024 colors are a bit boring. I also had a Panamera Turbo S Sport Turismo and that car was next level, but also considerably larger. I’d still pick the Audi but it is not the best super wagon on the market.

    In my opinion I'd rather get a regular RS6 Avant and go get it tuned and get a bunch more hp out of it.. rather than getting the performance, with a standard remap you'll get 700hp and 900nm out of the regular RS6 Avant

      @johnnys.9040 11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes. But. In the US at least, the regular one is no longer available for 2024, only the Performance is. Also, for those wanting more performance and better looks(because of the wheels) from a factory car without losing warranty on such an an expensive car, it's the better deal, especially considering after upgrading a standard RS6 to be on this level you'll be almost even in cost, including wheels because these just look that much better. Also RS6 Performance is cooler than just RS6.

    • @shellcoast0796
      @shellcoast0796 11 месяцев назад

      @@johnnys.9040 For a standard remap in the UK it's £700 at most for 700hp remap.. If you have enough money for an RS6 Avant I'm sure you have the money for bits with the car, a warranty is nice but you won't be able to do anything really without it voiding the warranty, so I'd be better off buying a 2023 Audi RS6 Avant and enjoying the car without worrying about a warranty
      Also the cars price wise (when new) are roughly £5,000

    Curiously, I did click on the banner for the braking-results of the Ferrari 296 GTB for comparison.
    Both cars stopped from 60-0 mph in 31 meters. However, from 100-0 mph it took the Ferrari 10 (TEN!) meters MORE than the Audi to stop (94 vs. 84 meters)? Though it weighs about 700 kg/1500 lbs less, and these were 'just' the standard brakes for the Audi? How can this be???

    • @tepidtuna7450
      @tepidtuna7450 11 месяцев назад

      Tyres do the braking, the rotors and pads just slow the rotation and absorb the kinetic energy, converting it to heat. Put really good tyres on an average car and they will do a similar distance, but only if everything is in a good state of repair.
      The only two factors are the coefficient of grip between the tyre and the road, and the temperature of the braking system.

      There two common possibilities
      1. Fading - i.e. less breaking power to the end. Quite unlikely when doing a few breaking tests.
      2. Time of building up full breaking power. - This is actually a standard topic from higher speeds. Losing few 10th of a second in creating the full breaking power will make several meters at the end. It might no be relevant to 60-0 but in 100-0 it can be a factor.

    I really don't see the point in putting so much power into a family estate car or any family car to be honest. There is nowhere in the UK (except the mountain on the Isle of Man) you can use this legally on the roads, the fuel consumption is horrific and the road tax is massive, plus the price of the car is insane for the average punter. Why don't manufacturers invest their time and money into making cars safer, self driving technologies, more economic, better recyclable materials, increased reliability, longer warranties, easier and cheaper servicing etc. This is bad enough but over 1000 hp for a Tesla on UK roads? This is madness and I can see it being legislated against.

      For every performance car they sell, they probably sell 1000 economical family cars. These fast performance cars also heavily influence how much sales they get for their cheaper cars . Same principle as win on Sunday, sell on Monday in car racing. Plus, rich people need places to spend their money so there will always be a market for these 'ridiculous' cars.
