  • This is a preview of the DCS: AJS-37 Viggen module for DCS: World by Heatblur Simulations. I document the process I go through to learn an aircraft from scratch with a focus on understanding the systems work, not just performing procedures step by step.

    I hope that you truly feel how much appreciated your hard work getting out all these viggen videos is, Bunyap!

    Time to like the video... And then watch it, standard approach to a Bunyap video ;) feel free to make these slightly longer however, we can't get enough. Loving the Viggen. Thank you.

    I've come across your videos in the past and am getting back in to DCS and subscribed. Your videos are great man. Super in-depth look at all the systems. I noticed you haven't posted in a while - hope you do more of these. Keep up the good work!

    had a good laugh today reading the ED weekend newsletter. "Viggen will be released next week, here are some videos we like: Bunyap, Bunyap, Bunyap, Bunyap" haha good showing, man! ...also any chance there will be a.. huh, like "interesting days" for the spit series. days you may have done research on that are worth an episode? i loved the series but the view count definitely does not justify continuing it. an amazing job of it regardless

    At 14:20 the 'tie' on the fuel indicator (which indicates amount of fuel required to fly the rest of the flight plan) actually jumps up from just under 35% to just over 40%. I think it's because Bunyap deviated from the flight plan stored in the navigation system and flew further away from the landing point, so it had to plan some additional fuel usage to account for turning around and returning to the flight plan.
    Just thought it was an interesting detail worth pointing out.

    Nice shooting. That final chance to catch a reference helped immensely. I was wondering if the radar was used as "CCIP/CCRP" during weapons drops. All the information I had suggested all drops were done intertially and I couldn't help but marvel at how hay could be accurate enough to get a shot.
    Is there a way to fire only one rocket or at least one pod only?

    • @sldfnslkxxlk
      @sldfnslkxxlk 7 лет назад +4

      Rockets are always launched in salvo from all pods from what the manual says. The SERIE (series) / IMPULS (single) switch is only used for the anti-ship missiles. For the rockets it selects normal mode or long range mode.
      "One pass, haul ass" is the Viggen motto. Understandable given its role but kind of a shame, since the radar-ranging rocket delivery seems pretty accurate.

      sldfnslkxxlk that's what I was thinking but I agree it makes sense. Guess the gun pod will give me my multiple passes.

    So what do you think of the AJS 37 so far Bunyap? or will that have to wait for the last Test Flight?
    I know its not a review series but still be nice to hear what you think =).
    As a Swede with a Aviation Interest the Viggen is my Baby and anybody who does think the same is automatically a mortal enemy ^^.
    This might however make one a slight bit biased =P so always fun to hear the opinion of someone else.
    Especially someone with access to the module (You Lucky Bastard ^^).

    Is the kneeboard with the waypoint and QFE part of the module or is it something you added??

    • @4023446
      @4023446  7 лет назад +3

      It is included by default. There are custom maps, airfield listings, and other things as well.

    • @Mattebubben
      @Mattebubben 7 лет назад +3

      Its an Default Automatic Feature.
      If you add waypoints in the Mission editor a Kneeboard page like that will automatically be generated
      including all that data for the different waypoints etc.
      Does not work with Waypoints that are made during the mission though only those created in the Mission Editor.

    I hope them QFE's are part of the module. Seems like you cant hit an outhouse without knowing its QFE.

    I really want to get into this (been trying to understand the hawk) but i understand nothing, instruments mean nothing (i've come from warthunder so everything gets done for me) any one know where i can find a detailed guide to modern aircraft basics, the DCS tutorial leaves things out, like what anything does

    • @mangofanta2667
      @mangofanta2667 7 лет назад

      for example, looking at the hawks instruments, I see 3 things that look like altemeters, 3 compasses and a speedometer that I don't understand, with the only understandable instrument being the compass and artificial horizon, the manual Ive been looking at appears to either to leave out stuff from the tutorial and when I try to cold start myself the plane explodes on the runway

    Man I really wasn't interested in this aircraft at all cause I have so many others that can perform the same roles, but it looks so charming and cool I may just have to pick it up. God damn it.
