The db9 was a tough act to follow. They nailed it with this one. A timeless Modern interpretation of an aston, that respects the past, is identifiable and curters to both new and old customers.

As an engineer´s perspective.. Man. what on earth, I mean. Engine, design, size. Since Aston started, I do really get moved by the type of cars they create. Though, Porsche is my beating heart, what a beautiful timeline of Astons they did.

1.- He does not read the comments
2.- He's trying to prove a point, and in a "rebel" act he used it again
Either way, he's still looking like an idiot and he's doing nothing to change that... well that's his problem at the end of the day :)

Probably the best colour I've seen on the DB11 so far, still not sold on the shape but this colour shows the shape in its best light for me. The wheel design seems too thin though, but who cares with that noise

If you are not a fan of the DB11 check out the Vanquish Zagato. I think this car is nice, Astons always look out of this world in the flesh on the road. Really looking forward to seeing the next vantage as personally I prefer smaller 2 seat sports cars like the F-Type.

  • @anazyakub3836

Test drove it on Saturday and it definitely looks better in the flesh. Feels a lot bigger and the lines look awesome. This particular colour doesn't show off the lines as well as a pearlescent white or James Bond Grey. The drive is sublime but I do think it could have done with an additional comfort mode below GT mode for the ultra comfortable cruising ride. The sport and sport plus modes really stiffen the whole car and the noise is just beautiful. Externally I don't think the car can be faulted. It's by far the best looking GT on the planet. Internally, the reviewer is right about the TFT screen. It looks out of place and by now Aston should have really gone for a touchscreen display that is integrated in to the dash. The centre compartment is powered by a electrically sliding top which makes a funny noise and should be more silent. The rest of the interior inc leather, seat comfort, seating position is sublime. In terms of comparison to other Astons, this is lighting years ahead in all round build quality. Aston may have caught up to current rival manufacturers such as Bentley with this model. However with the new Continental GT due out based around the EXP, it could fall behind again. In my overall opinion they've got it almost right with still a few niggly annoying bits that could have been done better considering it's a £180k car.

It pains me to say it, but I'm not a fan of the styling. I thought it might grow on me but it hasn't, that it looks better in certain colours proves it, I think. A DB9 looks great in any colour, like the clever aero though, but other than that it's a step backwards.

Too bad when every reviewer out there seems to love driving it, and - eventhough i hate that they put turbos on it - at least they didn't do the Porsche 718 thing. The big Astons should be V12s :)

Usually a fan of the old and originals but this one really makes a bold departure from the old design language while still retaining some of the heritage; just enough to still be unmistakably Aston Martin.
I like it but there are some cues that don't jump out at your. The wheels are rather odd to me. They look like aftermarket wheels that people put on their luxury cars but that's the inherent problem with them, they look aftermarket and down right unoriginal. Aston should have kept with the multi spoke design of rally inspired.

This clearly isn't a very good looking car. The Astons of the 1990s were among the Ugliest ever, but the Astons of the 2000s were among the most beautiful on the planet.
There is something off about this design. This isn't timeless as the DB9. Bond wouldn't want to be seen in this thing. He's rather drive a Jaguar f-type SVR or a BMW M760li.
I don't know what it is, but this is as forgetful and dull as the New NSX. This seems tall and weird at places. Maybe it's the colour. The initial press release photos were pretty stunning though.
Anyway, credit where it's due. Astons a small British manufacturer which has managed to stay independent and not the crown jewel of a Chinese, Arab or Indian conglomerate. I still find the Vulcan breathtaking. It's a Viper ACR which managed to find a better stylist.

      @jamesyoo4779 8 лет назад +1

Of course it's not going to look as good as the DB9, it's their prettiest design along with the DB5. Not even Aston themselves will be able to replicate the DB9, so of course the DB11 is not going to look as good, but that doesn't mean it's ugly. So I don't think Bond is going to say no to the DB11 anytime soon

    • @iot1452

That is NOT a V12 exhaust. In fact, I don't know what kind of exhaust note that is. It just sounds hyper generic, yet unique at the same time. At least it'll make it easy to audibly identify the car.

Astons to me have always had a very minimalist and classy look. This just has too much going on everywhere :( DB9 is still the best looking in my opinion
