Some of the things Aston does as a company are so respectable. 1 robot in the factory, a person does a final inspection, 1 seamstress for the entire vehicle, no parent company.
I respect those things so much. I'll be buying an Aston one day.
Riiiight?!??? The fact the you could likely meet the people who sewed your leather seats and speak to the people who built your car blew me away and definitely want one now more than ever.

Hate to break it to you but that was the old AM/Bentley method of car manyfacturing, that isn't true at all now they have large production factories and the signature is now just a pre-manufactures plaque with the CEO's name on it and it's put on every car on the production line.
Before Bentley made their new factory there was an actual woman that did most of the seweing and upholstery, and when you went on a tour the woman was siting right there with the needle and she used to tell eveyone that goes there how the roof had a hole in it because of the bomb dropped during the war! it was hilarious.
Come in here dear, with the needle and glasses and everything!
There's a whole production line of robots assembling the car, a whole department does the final inspection, one person stitches the seats so the stitching is all the same.
@@EbrahimSaadawii I can tell that you never visited Gaydon, did you? Luckily I own more than one Aston and I've also been invited to Gaydon more than once. They have improved their productions and certainly have a few automated processes. Plaques with the CEO name does not exist. There are a few guys nominated for final inspections. I can only recommend to you to order an Aston Martin and visit Gaydon when it comes to define the specs. You would be surprised.

I saw one in a metallic teal with lime bottom trim and calipers that was just ridiculously beautiful.
The problem with using a dark car with black wheels is that you can't see any of the beautiful design. Dark colors absorb light and make it very difficult to photograph. They should have brought a lighter colored car with silver wheels, since this is basically an advertising feature for Aston Martin.

A few years ago I went into a Starbucks that had a beautiful Aston Martin parked in front. A man was stilling in the shop having his coffee facing and staring at the Aston Martin. Obviously not just a pleasure to drive but also to look at. This made me chuckle but at the same time say why not since it is a car that makes me stare at it too. A work of art. Gratefully i can still enjoy something I can't afford by simply appreciating it from a distance. This video is a part of that enjoyment. Thanks Jay.

Exactly, I once saw a DBS in the most stunning silver colour sitting in a parking lot in some hick town in the middle of nowhere. You can't help but just stand and stare. The design is simple and not over the top but everything just looks so right. Pictures and videos don't do them justice.
Love when Jay has these guys on to show their product and brings up every other manufacturer they compete with. This fella took it in stride though and handled everything really well imo. Always like getting a look at something I'll never afford also.

Yeah, I hate when people refer to most mid-rear engine cars as "rear engine" cars. Noooo. It's a mid engine car, whether the engine is in the front of the cabin or the rear. It's mid-front or mid-rear.
Yeah I really liked this rep that Aston sent. Much better than the last one I saw and I think he is a pretty great face for the brand on shows like this

Yes, a very good explanation of polar moment of inertia. Then I ended up musing to myself that Corvette started using the rear mounted transmission on the C5 in 1997. And before that, Porsche used the same configuration on the 928, 924, and 944 series of cars.

I was once that guy who would say "I can drive anything" ,until i started watching Jay Leno. From steam to Jet, He is the only one that can and has truly backed it up. No pompous rich guy with too many toys here, more of a rare gentleman with an unrivaled depth of automotive knowledge, coupled with a true passion to not only collect cars, but to preserve them for generations to come. Thank you so much for sharing your journey Jay.

The fact he lets them come outta retirement every so often and have a small adventure galloping about in modern traffic is something that really pleases me, for some reason!

Jay, I owned a DB 2/4 MkIII for 9 years. Bought it for $5,000 and sold it for $5,000 in 1986. My youngest son found my old car last spring and it was for sale for $400,000. Rats. Anyway, I loved that car.

I was lucky enough to own 5 Astons over the years. I loved them all because they were a man's car: strong, solid, high performance, comfortable and safe. I owned Ferrari's, Maseratis. Porsches. I found this care to be handsome and solidly put together. I Went to the factory in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire; where I spec'd my last one. I loved everything abut this bespoke vehicle. I bought my first one off the turntable at the NY AUto s how in 1977 from Jess Pouret for the sum of $25000--brand new. Those were the days.
Thanks again Jay for all these amazing reviews! and very well done on the camera crew’s part also. Truly worthy of being a segment on a big TV network but you still to this day share your videos with the world for free :) Your a great man!

What a fabulous bit of kit - Am I right in thinking pretty much everyone loves an Aston? If you pull up for petrol in a Ferrari people think "Rich &^%*!" - pull up in an Aston and everyone thinks - "nice car!"....defo the best thing to come out of Newport Pagnall (that and The Swan Revived hotel)......
I can't agree more. In this segment the image of the brand very often relates to the owner. For most Ferrari or Lamborghini drivers an Aston is not flashy enough. So when it comes to class there are differences.
You’re absolutely right. I had the 2019 Vantage and when I pulled up to the petrol station, people would come over to it, ask me about it, take photos, tell me how much they love it…

A guy in a DB9 raced me through the centre of Leeds (in yorkshire) at night. The thing that impressed me the most about that car was the amazing sound made going through the gears from traffic light to traffic light.

Every once in a while, Jay reminds me of the villain in Thunderball, Emilio Largo, played by Adolpho Celi.
The DB11 looks so much nicer with dark paint colors to smooth over the overall design. This spec is by far the best looking example I’ve seen by a mile. Great work Aston!
The car is stunning for sure, but I think you'd be able to see the lines of the car better if it were a nice silver colour. Just my opinion.

I love the way they used the air intakes on the side directed to the boot lid for a spoiler effect. That's so ingenious. I can't believe I've never seen anyone else do that before. An internal spoiler or air brake. Very smart

I Love Aston Martins color schemes! This one is fantastic! Dark and luxurious, and it has cylinder deactivation just like in my 2017 Chevrolet Camaro RS! I love the turn signal how the entire light design illuminates orange. If Aston Martin has a sunroof or some kind of sunroof feature this will jump up some spots on my super car list to purchase.

Terrence explained the weight factors so well with those dumb bells and outstretched arms,,...now I fully understand how this car is so nimble in handling at speed; it just makes sense to build
the car with it's engine rear of front axles and transmission forward of axles.
What a simply beautiful marque this is, it always was and will be, my dream car.
