We are lucky, we can watch a review the length of an episode of TG 20yrs ago, which would give you a 8min review tops on any single car, and that was about the extent of your choice. And we can watch more reviews of the cars we like, from people with vary degrees of talent and knowledge. Harry is the best for in depth and quality, I do like Doug for entertainment and is doing an interesting variety lately. Best thing about Harry though is he does older supercars too! Not just the lastest tech laden superfast cars which most of the 'star youtubers' tend to chase.
Yep that sums it up. In the same way Harris can give you a good idea about how they drive, Harry's reviews make you feel like you've spent a couple of days getting to know the car.
+CJ DASHCAM Doug is more of an entertainer, this is a proper review, professionally done with a real world perspective. What i like is that Harry is both part of the industry (works at SVO), journalism (used to own EVO Magazine), and an owner (by that i mean he is the target audience of most cars he reviews). That's what makes this review so complete.
Every bloody time Aston Martin amaze me with the stunning beauty of their cars? No other manufacturer can come anywhere near them for looks and elegance in my opinion😳
It's so refreshing to hear an honest car review, so many reviews these days (even EVO magazine is occasionally guilty of it) are all rosy and have a fake whiff about them, I totally understand why because they don't want to upset the manufacturers but this review seems more 'real'. Maybe it's because Harry is one of the most experienced in the business.
Harry, your integrity alone makes your videos so much more worth watching than the rest. I'm not even an Aston man but this video was hilarious at times
The best DB11 review I've seen so far. Harry really gives a comprehensive view of what it would be like to live with the car day to day. Great job - thanks
Great review, as always. I love the DB11, it is a great starting point for all future Aston Martin's. But the DB9 still looks better I think. Timeless beauty.
Agree, thought the same but I've started to accept it as it is: a new page for Aston and that's great. The DB9 era was great but it was time to move on.
That is the difference between youtubers and true journalists that truly love what they are doing. Harry is by far the best car journalist i have ever come across.
I love your enthusiasm, Harry. I've always loved the Aston Martins. It doesn't matter the year or model. Best sound from the V12 and a true GT car. Your approach to the ownership of these cars is to use them, and put them through the paces, in the environment as they were engineered for. Great review.
Love the fact Harry isn’t afraid to point out the flaws, and cover every real world aspect of the car and not just the techie and track performance stuff 🍻
Just came back to this video from a long time, and I have to say this is still my favorite car review video of all time. This video is what made me subscribe to this channel and watch it to this day, and the start of my love towards that ‘British feeling’ of driving an Aston from the country side to London. Thank you Mr. Metcalfe for all the good cars & trip videos!
I spent the entire video checking my phone, just to discover that the noive is from the video itself! hahaha Best review i've seen on the new DB11, as usual on Harry's garage!
I don't quite know what it is... but there is something very special about Harry and his reviews that no other car reviewer can replicate. Keep up the good work mate!
4 years later and I’ve just seen my first DB 11 parked round the corner from me in Eton. OMG - if you haven’t seen it in the flesh you’re in for a shock. It’s massive - but stunningly beautiful. I couldn’t stop staring at it. Xxx
Really great review, Harry! I especially enjoy how you're being fair with the car and Aston. Yes it's beautiful, but it still isn't perfect, and you're not afraid to tell us that. Thanks.
Another brilliant review Harry. Nobody else offers the information you do and in such a relaxed and easy to watch manner. You highlight the small details that others often ignore, tending only to focus on speed and handling. You can tell you've owned cars like this yourself as you point out the details that make living with them great or annoying. Harry's Garage goes from strength to strength. Well done!
Thanks for taking the time to do your video's Harry. I really enjoy them as they are very informative. Keep them coming. Best wishes from Andy in Nottinghamshire.
Thunderclutch Same. It's weird how it droops down instead of that swepped up design like previous Astons. You saw the boot liner on this thing? Looks dope haha!
I like Paul's channel as well. Easy to watch, entertaining, but Harry's reviews are more realistic. BTW, I discovered Harry way too late. Have some catching up to do.
octagonElite92 Yeah, I unsubscribed a long time ago. Only a few of his recent videos about the costs of owning a supercar were sort of interesting. Otherwise it's just dull. Also he drives like a grandma. ^^
Great review Harry! I really loved the part where you said you got hauled up in front of the headmaster at AM for your review of the DB9. Watch out, they might do it again for your remarks about the interior.
Just drove this car yesterday and I completely agree with your assessment. I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did, but I really did love it and wish I could drive it some more!
I have just recently got started watching this guy's reviews and your comment is the first time I saw his last name. It got my attention because that is my last name, just without the extra e.
I'm telling all design doubters (like I was from the pics and vids), to wait until you have actually seen one in the flesh! Loads in common with the one77! It's stunning! Well done Aston Martin !
Great video as usual, thanks. I saw one for the first time on Friday. Looks amazing in the flesh, I have to say. Pictures don't do it justice. Looks quite wide at the rear, but that may just be the light design.
Funny how Harry mentions " I've made some time up, but I don't know how?", we all know Harry that off camera you've had a heavy foot on the loud peddle.
A bank of cylinders shutting off is something Jeep did with the 5.7 HEMI back in 2005 was also known as the MDS (Multi Displacement System). Excellent review by the way Harry, literally one of the best.
Great video as always. The more I look at it the more I like the shape. It's just not as gracious and beautiful as DB9 but I'm slowly accepting it. The DB9 era and design was huge for Aston but this is a new page for Aston and that's ok. I also really like how they did did a Vanquish as a bridge between generations again.
The DB11 is phenomenal. Im glad you mentioned the cylinder deactivation and the auto start-stop demonstration. It appears to have optimal ground clearance. Loved the video. In auto mode, how shifty is the gearbox?
The car world is a tricky place: Here we have an Aston Martin using Mercedes tech, Aston Martin is also sponsered on the Red Bull F1 car, which uses a Renault engine which is branded as Tag Heuer.... By the way, great review, Harry. It is such a beautiful car.
Based upon my figuring, if the air passes through the vent on the rear side window and out of the boot lid, presumably when its raining, you'll get rain coming through there too. Consequently, there will be at least some water in the boot lid cavity which will drain out into the boot when you open it up.
This design is really starting to grow on me. I'd feared astons were forever becoming edgy/modern/angular. This one has a measure of elegance to it, from the swoop of the hip line, to the almost playful air vent detailing.
Awesome car and I really did enjoy your review...but Harry, we didn't get to see that trick little rear spoiler working :-( I was waiting the whole time to see a shot of it popping up adding aero to the car. Slight sadness there but all told, I'm so pleased that you consider this Aston to be such a success. Cheers and thanks.
i think while db9 side profile is great, but the front end is too narrow and the headlights are too simple it's just looks outdated now, especially dbs
I'm not a big fan of the interior. The Exterior i don't like at all. The aggressiveness seems to be lost, what i did like was the Aston Martin Lagonda. Whole different ballpark, but so much better when grown up
My problem is the interior. In my opinion you really should not _see_ any technology in Aston. All visible elements should be natural and mechanical. Especially those instrument clusters. It kinda looks cheap. Problem with gadgets is that they age so fast. And I like to think Astons as ageless pieces of art. What I would like to see is more like modern take on '20s and '30s speedboat-for-the-road. On practical note it was -26,5C last morning and winter is just starting. LCD:s do not really work when temps are below -10C. It's not really convenient to have speedo that cannot show the speed. I've experienced this in quite many modern cars lately.
Harry's garage It is. It looked especially great in the scene of you turning out of the car park. More importantly: Great video! Matti Sillanpää Not a friend of digital dashboards either. They look interchangeable between an Aston Martin and a VW.
Great review. Informative, interesting. Enjoyable for (voyeurs) viewers who quite simply enjoy looking at, and hearing about cars of all types and nature, and being done so by a no nonsense, cordial, and likeable character who has a rare ability to remain genuinely humble and none patronising to his audience, and his key focus remains on the subject matter and not directed towards himself. Some achievement, considering how the review still manages to hold the attention of the more technical minded. Well done, sir. I certainly didn’t miss the overhead helicopter, skateboarders, and soldiers firing from derelict buildings.
At the beginning, there's the Aston, but somehow my eyes are looking the Countach... How come ? Don't know ... Nice review Harry. At some point would be great to see a review on a track as well, to see a different side of the car... Cheers
Thanks Harry, for another really enjoyable video review. I look forward to the next one. Agree it's great to see a genuine all new Aston with its own bespoke engine but not sold on the vent behind the front wheesl. Maybe it'll be a grower.
At first i thought the front was really cat-fish like, but this is one of these cars that the more you look at it the prettier it gets. Always a good sign for a design.
During the final clip, some part of the camera must have been touching the windscreen, which is the background tapping you can hear. Thanks for watching
Thanks - Harry your videos are the best on RUclips, thanks for taking the time to produce them. BTW - Do you still have the Lancia? That was my dream car
Great review as always! Only review that I've read or watched who mentioned the best colours for a parcel shelf or the huge mess potentially created by the side strakes. Brilliant.
Love the video Harry, as for the mud streaking along the side of the car; dude, stay out of the fields my man, that's what the Rover is for, oh wait, you sold it! you're my hero Harry, stay forever young my friend!
The interior looks terrible. Looks like a dated interior from Chrysler. The DB9 is still a dream car to me because of the emotion I felt when I first saw it. The DB11 is not bad looking, but it doesn't excite me at all.
To those who don't like some of the other youtubers. It helps to have a full crew to film inside and out during the journey. I don't like it when some bloke goes on and on about the exterior and you don't get to see it. We all want to see the cars from all around. Moving and not. We get this with harry.
I predict you'll be waiting forever. To me it just look dull and really rather characterless, sort of like a Toyota or Ford. They should have called in Henrik Fisker.
this has to be one of the best reviews I've seen, a first hand user review. A lot of american reviewers are basically a video recital of the spec sheet....we are in the age of the internet, if we wanted to know the 0-60 time, we will just go find it. a lof of reviewers can a lot from this review.
And this, dear clueless 'star youtubers' both sides of the Atlantic, is how you properly review a car. Period.
Thank you Harry.
Harry does do amazing reviews. But some of the other reviews were good too, Doug DeMuro's, for example.
In the same way Harris can give you a good idea about how they drive, Harry's reviews make you feel like you've spent a couple of days getting to know the car.
bracikmen Maybe so, but the guy is so annoying! He's turned into an absolute click bait king too!
bracikmen Spot on.
Haven't watched all the vid, already know it's the best review of the DB11 available.
It's not difficult to be better than people like 'Supercars of London'. Harry does always a great job.
Leck Mich 😂😂😂yes SOL reviews are 90% focussed on his face😂
I dunno, I think Doug Demuro did it better.
+Kaisuke971 There's is simply a difference when a grown man with more than a century of experience in the industry or a yuppie explains a car.
Best review of the DB11 by far. Always love hearing Harry's take. Lots of great additional insight that others never provide.
Hmmm. Who'd have thought that a test of a car on the road, rather than driving around an airfield, would make for a better test....?
Quality review.
Every bloody time Aston Martin amaze me with the stunning beauty of their cars? No other manufacturer can come anywhere near them for looks and elegance in my opinion😳
That HAS to be, surely, the best looking car on sale today.
Perfection.
Thanks Harry for the real world insight into the DB11. That V12 noise is delicious, and I totally agree that the exterior design is gorgeous.
always a good day when we get a vid from Harry's
The best DB11 review I've seen so far. Harry really gives a comprehensive view of what it would be like to live with the car day to day. Great job - thanks
Agreed, best review of the DB11 so far..., refreshing to see mature comments on car analysis without cursing all the time...
DB9 is a better car in my opinion
Fully agreed. I am the lucky owner of a 2006 DB9 manual transmission. Would NEVER change it for a DB11.
This really is a proper review, he takes his time to show every detail, great job!
Love the fact Harry isn’t afraid to point out the flaws, and cover every real world aspect of the car and not just the techie and track performance stuff 🍻
Just came back to this video from a long time, and I have to say this is still my favorite car review video of all time.
This video is what made me subscribe to this channel and watch it to this day,
and the start of my love towards that ‘British feeling’ of driving an Aston from the country side to London.
Thank you Mr. Metcalfe for all the good cars & trip videos!
I spent the entire video checking my phone, just to discover that the noive is from the video itself! hahaha
Best review i've seen on the new DB11, as usual on Harry's garage!
Best reviewer on RUclips in my opinion.
your videos are like a therapy! so relaxing...
Thank Harry, really enjoyed that video. Saw the DB11 in the flesh yesterday at Goodwood.
I have to say it looked fabulous from every angle.
Not to compare and contrast, but you are worlds apart and better than Schmee
Yeah, all those Carspotting RUclipsrs became boring.
I find Schmee to be very annoying
ArchimedeanEye Shmee is just a rich boy, living off Daddy's money. He doesn't really know what he's talking about.
Shmee doesn't give so much detail like Harry does.
Shmee is a lisping twat
Harry that car fit you like a glove! Perfect gentleman tourer.
Love your channel!!
nope. S class coupe and Conti do it better,
I'm not missing Top Gear at all. Thanks Harry.
I don't quite know what it is... but there is something very special about Harry and his reviews that no other car reviewer can replicate. Keep up the good work mate!
The looks are greatly improved with a body coloured roof, lovely thing Harry
4 years later and I’ve just seen my first DB 11 parked round the corner from me in Eton. OMG - if you haven’t seen it in the flesh you’re in for a shock. It’s massive - but stunningly beautiful. I couldn’t stop staring at it. Xxx
Oh boy, this car is a true beauty. Love the external looks and the styling. Fan-tas-tic. Love the videos you make Harry!
I love that guy presenting it he's so british and adorable
His name is Harry
Really great review, Harry! I especially enjoy how you're being fair with the car and Aston. Yes it's beautiful, but it still isn't perfect, and you're not afraid to tell us that. Thanks.
Love how long and in-depth this video was. Harry is the OG car guy and hearing all of his thoughts is so interesting.
Driving through Berkeley square in Mayfair with his Aston. Class!!!
Was trying to count the number of circuits he made of the square - at least five!
Well done!
Wow, literally best review on this gorgeous car to date. I want it Harry.
You are by far the best car show presenter I've ever seen on RUclips Harry.
My dream car, absolutely love the DB11
The best car review programme available. The enthusiasm & passion for cars is like his panel tester, magnetic
It looks fantastic. A truly gorgeous design.
Love your reviews, Harry. No bravado, no hyperbole - perfect.
This car looks phenomenal, can't understand why people don't like it?!
Can`t wait to watch this tonight. Really enjoying your videos Harry and your real world approach! Keep them coming
Love it! The V12 Vantage S is my favourite but this is growing on me rapidly.
Thanks for taking the time to do your video's Harry. I really enjoy them as they are very informative. Keep them coming. Best wishes from Andy in Nottinghamshire.
Ive been waiting for the DB11 to grow on me but it hasnt yet :/ It doesn't look bad but it hasn't blown me away yet like the Vanquish had :/
Chris Sorreda the rear of it is what really looks off to me
Thunderclutch Same. It's weird how it droops down instead of that swepped up design like previous Astons. You saw the boot liner on this thing? Looks dope haha!
Actually that shot on the road of the back, it looks down right ugly :(
Agreed.
it's a half Mercedes
The car looks gorgeous at 25:49, the design has really grown on me. Looks great in silver, which is rare.
Supercarsoflondon, this is how it's done
Who still watches his crap?
Guy Incognito shmees getting like that these days too
I like Paul's channel as well. Easy to watch, entertaining, but Harry's reviews are more realistic. BTW, I discovered Harry way too late. Have some catching up to do.
Agreed! harry is never 'showy' - he seems like a genuine nice guy who know's his stuff and is enthusiastic with it - been a fan since the Evo days
octagonElite92 Yeah, I unsubscribed a long time ago.
Great review, Harry, once more ! Thank you very much for this moment. 👍😀
Just drove this car yesterday and I completely agree with your assessment. I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did, but I really did love it and wish I could drive it some more!
Fantastic car, great honest review, as usual, Harry
Harry, Your Videos Are By Far The Best - Thank You For Celebrating Brit Wonder Aston Martin As It Certainly Deserves.
sat here dying with Flu Harry releases a new video and my WEEKEND is complete !!
Chromecast + 50" TV and a cup of tea - perfection.
Hahaaha, Great story!
Harry is a genuine car lover. Couldn't get near him at Goodwood Festival Of Speed. Absolute gentleman.
Beautiful car and a wonderful review. Makes you proud to be British, all roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, better do a lottery.
I can't get enough of this channel at the moment. Great show.
Harry should take over Top Gear.. !
Excellent as usual :D
Harry makes the only videos I HAVE to watch as soon as I see them uploaded.
Just can't control meself. Grand job Mr Metcalfe.
I have just recently got started watching this guy's reviews and your comment is the first time I saw his last name. It got my attention because that is my last name, just without the extra e.
Totally agree, what a stunningly beautiful car.. It’s an Aston, we should all be proud
Harry Great Review - Thinking of getting the DB11 as I been driving V12's all my life since 17.
You're very lucky
is this channel the british jay leno's garage?
Jay Leno's Garage is the American version of this channel...
Yes old boy. A little less glitz, a little more refinement.
Weird, since Jay`s channel is 6 years older. :)
But Harry started Evo when Jay was still doing standup.
This channel is better.
The best reviewer of cars by a country mile. Thank you Harry.
The front and side profiles are fine, but I still think it looks too fussy, especially from the rear. Looking forward to the new Vantage.
I love the look of the new vantage but have you seen the price... It's around £156-65k... Not worth that price in my opinion.
Aston Martin sure has a way with making gorgeous automobiles. Big Kudos!
One of the most beautiful cars of all time. Thank you, Sir, for this review.
The Aston designers really know how to creates lovely shapes.
I can listen to this man all day long
Surely not?
The DB11 is phenomenal. Im glad you mentioned the cylinder deactivation and the auto start-stop demonstration. It appears to have optimal ground clearance. Loved the video. In auto mode, how shifty is the gearbox?
The car world is a tricky place:
Here we have an Aston Martin using Mercedes tech, Aston Martin is also sponsered on the Red Bull F1 car, which uses a Renault engine which is branded as Tag Heuer....
By the way, great review, Harry. It is such a beautiful car.
Is that a Wraith back there?
Based upon my figuring, if the air passes through the vent on the rear side window and out of the boot lid, presumably when its raining, you'll get rain coming through there too. Consequently, there will be at least some water in the boot lid cavity which will drain out into the boot when you open it up.
This design is really starting to grow on me. I'd feared astons were forever becoming edgy/modern/angular. This one has a measure of elegance to it, from the swoop of the hip line, to the almost playful air vent detailing.
edgy is what sports means to most motorheads, this is more for dads than teenagers poster boards
another fantastic detailed review from Harry. a man with huge amount of experience with all kinds of cars. the experience shows.
even the first seconds of the video alone are perfect
N1GHT5
N1GHT5 I hate to agree, but it just doesn't have that times less appeal. I like it now but you are right I don't see it holding up.
N1GHT5 Although not as hideous as the GT8!
I can't help it, but this car will not look great in some years time. The DB7 and DB9 on the other hand, always did, do and will.
i think while db9 side profile is great, but the front end is too narrow and the headlights are too simple
it's just looks outdated now, especially dbs
Agree with this. Although rear profile deserves a mention too, as it's fab.

More importantly: Great video!
Matti Sillanpää
Not a friend of digital dashboards either.
Cheers
Thought I was the only one looking the Countach... haha
Me too.. just goes to show how amazing the Countach still is!
Love this channel! We'd love to see more uploads from you Harry.
Top class review as usual.
Thanks Harry, for another really enjoyable video review. I look forward to the next one. Agree it's great to see a genuine all new Aston with its own bespoke engine but not sold on the vent behind the front wheesl. Maybe it'll be a grower.
It looks gorgeous
At first i thought the front was really cat-fish like, but this is one of these cars that the more you look at it the prettier it gets. Always a good sign for a design.
Kaisuke971 Very true. I thought 'what have they done!?!?', when I first saw it. Now it looks super to my eye.
Love the look of the car, however it sounded a bit creaky inside, was that the camera mounts squeaking?
During the final clip, some part of the camera must have been touching the windscreen, which is the background tapping you can hear. Thanks for watching
Thanks - Harry your videos are the best on RUclips, thanks for taking the time to produce them. BTW - Do you still have the Lancia? That was my dream car
Excellent in-depth, unbiased review, as always. Thanks you.
You keep teasing us with the Africa Twin and (Cagiva Elefant?)
Look forward to seeing a bike video one day Harry
+1 on the bike videos
Weather needs to improve before I do any bike reviews. April onwards, with a bit of luck!
This guy really makes good reviews and is not painful watching - unlike some snug younger cheapos. Good work!
i wish you were my dad, all that knowledge you have
And don't forget that inheritance!
Great review as always! Only review that I've read or watched who mentioned the best colours for a parcel shelf or the huge mess potentially created by the side strakes. Brilliant.
Interesting review Harry, I have to agree the interior doesn't look very special at all.
cheers
Love the video Harry, as for the mud streaking along the side of the car; dude, stay out of the fields my man, that's what the Rover is for, oh wait, you sold it! you're my hero Harry, stay forever young my friend!
The interior looks terrible. Looks like a dated interior from Chrysler. The DB9 is still a dream car to me because of the emotion I felt when I first saw it. The DB11 is not bad looking, but it doesn't excite me at all.
Shaun Swanepoel Ditto. The interior... yuck. I mean... what on earth were they thinking?! I could have done better blindfolded. :)
what do you think of the new DBS superleggera?
To those who don't like some of the other youtubers. It helps to have a full crew to film inside and out during the journey. I don't like it when some bloke goes on and on about the exterior and you don't get to see it. We all want to see the cars from all around. Moving and not. We get this with harry.
Still waiting for the looks to grow on me...
Grown on you yet?
Hommes d'influence yet?
Hommes d'influence I think this is one of those cars that look absolutely stunning in person.
